I cannot provide a better or stronger recommendation than the one I would give for Franck and his team at Golden Woods. My wife and I have worked with several companies over the past 20 years in many areas - construction, flooring, pools, landscape, hardscape - and we have never been more satisfied or pleased with the work provided than we were with Golden Woods. Their attention to detail, quality of work, consistent communication and genuine desire to make us - their customer - happy was second to none. If you’re looking for the cheapest, fastest, or biggest - don’t bother calling. If you care about working directly with the owners of a reputable company, who employ all of their staff and do not use subcontractors, and who do great work for a FAIR price - pick up the phone. I guarantee you will be grateful that you did.

Denny and Franck of Golden Woods designed and installed a Southern France Mediterranean influenced landscape perfect for mediterranean architecture style homes in the area.  One could not find a better team for this kind of a project because both learned part of their craft in France which coincidently is Franck's native country.    This project turned out to be very challenging and the cost of the project (excluding additions and change orders) went about 15% over projected budget.   Golden Woods is pricey for a landscape contractor, but they take good care of their workers and craftsman.  The work is top quality and (in my opinion)  it has authentic french influences in the design (walls, pavers, plantings, stairs, and shaped junipers).   For prospective customers the following issues were encountered when working with Golden Woods:
1.  During demolition the concrete thickness was 2-3 times thicker than expected.  Despite asking for test cuts to better estimate the cost of removal before the project started we found out during the project that it cost of demolition was going to be much higher than expect.   Who would expect the concrete to be 8-12in thick in the rear yard patio area?
2. Miss communication about details in the contract.   Make sure they include ALL design details in the contract and no matter how tiny the detail might be, include it (like lifting the AC for paver install under it and so forth).
3. Be flexible with the design.  Problems and challenges will happen, Franck always has great ideas.  
In conclusion, the project turned out fantastic even if it was over budget.  Even after two years people stop by to compliment and admire the landscape, the only authentic French inspired landscape in the community.   Also, the most common question I get is "Who installed our fence?"  The neighbors like the wooden privacy fence Golden Woods installed.   Again, they are pricey, but the quality in the paver install, and the fireplace construction is top quality.  

The work was performed flawlessly and they turned an otherwise dysfunctional yard into a backyard paradise! Denny (the owner) was a delight to work with and Frank (the Superintendent) was awesome. He really knows what he's doing. We had some drainage issues with the way the pool was built and those have all been corrected.
