Antac Pest Control

"The customer called January 7, 2013 at around 4:50pm and left a message. Our customer service rep called her back. She said that she had a rodent issue. Service rep told her the same thing that she tells every potential customer with a rodent issue. She explained that the cost is $250 for a 30 day service if she didn't want annual maintenance. She explained that we put traps on the inside, bait stations on the outside and we give a quote for any exclusion work at the time of the first visit which includes the following: Whole-home inspection to find any damage and give a quote for repairs to keep rodents out. The customer was adamant that she only had rodents in the wall. There were no rodents actually running around in the house. Service rep told her that we wouldn’t be able to look in walls because we would have to break the walls open, but that we can do the exclusion quote to see if there is damage to the wallallowing rodents to enter. She told service rep that she didn’t understand what she would be paying for if we couldn’t look inside the walls (where she believed the problem was). Rep tried to explain the service further by explaining what we do over the course of the 30 days but rep couldn’t even get to that because she would keep interrupting the service rep. Service rep was not being argumentative with her at all; she just listened as she was demeaning our rep. Rep asked as many questions as she could to try to understand what she was trying to get Antac to do. WE DO DEAL WITH RODENTS. We don't however carry X-Ray glasses to see through walls. Our rodent control system has proven to be a very effective alternative to the X-ray glasses. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to get rid of the rascals crawling in your home. I'm hopeful that x-ray glasses will become available to pest control companies in the future so that we will be worthy of a higher rating from the customer."

"This review is rather odd. The customer never once expressed dissatisfaction with his service prior to this posting. In fact, our customer service representatives made a follow-up call to him on 12/05/2012 at 3:16 pm to go over the service and expectations and how the service works. The customer has an issue with Pharaoh Ants, which are rather difficult to control without the cooperation of the homeowner. Pharaoh ants have up to 200 queens per colony consisting of around 1,500 ants. The many queens makes the colony perfect for subdividing. Elimination and control are made difficult because multiple colonies can also consolidate into smaller colonies and "weather the storm" of a baiting programme only to repopulate when baiting is withdrawn. COMMUNICATION IS KEY IN CONTROLLING THIS TYPE OF ANT. After the customer made this degrading post on Angie's List, our office, again, made several attempts to communicate with him. He has failed to return our calls. If he has been using any of his own products, such as Raid, glass cleaner, or any other over-the-counter products, his Pharaoh ant issue will turn into a household epidemic. The OTC products will cause the ants to subdivide. Neither Antac, nor ANY COMPANY can do anything to assist a customer that is unwilling to be cooperative and communicate."
