They were the best. Their price was better than anybody else and they were responsive. We will use them again in the future.

I would never use this company, the person who I scheduled with has no respect for anyone else's time.  I spoke with him on Thursday 4/25 and we scheduled for the late afternoon on Friday 4/26.  He indicated there was a chance he would not be able to come if his other job ran long but that he would call me (key point that he said he would call to cancel).  I said that was fine, offered to schedule for Saturday instead and he said no that he should be able to make Friday work.  Well Friday he never showed.  I arranged my day to be home and he never showed and never called so I just waited around for nothing.  Saturday afternoon he called, no apology no nothing and was pushy and wanted to come right then.  I wasn't home at the time and at this point between the attitude on the phone and the lack of respect of my time, I didn't want to work with anyone from this company if this is how they treat customers.  I wouldn't be able to trust them to show up and get the job done when scheduled. 

Great. After giving me an estimate, along with some suggestions, an appointment was made for the following day. Workers were prompt, professional, and clean. I would hire this company again.

I think his name was Ivan the project mgr for the brush clearing we had done.  Always right on, lets you know where they are in the day so you can plan yours!  Gave some good tips about saving money with the company for next time...which we will heed.

the price is fair since they chopped down 10 trees and also flatten the stump. But they didn't trim the trees as they promised. Or maybe there are some communication issue since we asked to leave the fruit trees alone. Anyway, they almost didn't do any trim job and finished all work in one day.
We don't know what it mean to trim a tree since we had no experience with trees. we had to call another company and spend a few hundred on two big trees in front of our house.
If we know that all job will be finished within one day, we may not have them do tree trimming. Or at least make it clear which trees needs to be trimmed. All staff just got so tired after one day heavy work, no one want to do extra trimming. Maybe we should not include tree trimming in the job description

They did a really nice job for us. They were very friendly. They worked very hard and they worked with us. It was all pretty straight forward. They were great to work with. They cleaned up after themselves and they were right on time. They worked long hours and they were hard workers. They were great.

From the very first the job went well.  The person making the estimate was very knowledgeable about trees in general, in contrast to other companies whose reps didn't know the kind of tree.  The workers were careful, efficient, and cleaned up extremely well -- which was extremely important to me  as the tree was right on the edge of a neighbor's property.  I will use the company again.

Given that it was a big job, there were a couple follow up calls to fix sprinklers and cut dead branches that they had left, but they took care of it very quickly and professionally. So I was very happy with their service. They said exactly what they were going to do. I just wished I would find a contractor like that!

They cleaned up very well.  The quality could have been better. They were very responsive and right on time.  The professionalism was very good.

They were very honest and they told me to just get another tree.

It was excellent. They were prompt and their estimates were accurate. I thought their plan for what needed to happen was fair. I will use them again in the future.

My boyfriend and I called J & J tree service to come and trim our Palm Trees.They did such a hack job that we told them we are not paying for their service. Until they fix this problem.

The manger Rene came out to see the trees and basically tried to deflect the blame saying it was natural for the husks to fall off when stepped on. Now our tree looks like parts of it is elephant trunk and  other ports of it are husks. 

His worker's didn't speak a word of english and when we called the first time to speak to Rene we sent pictures and complained about the job. You would have thought that he would have came out to see what was going on. Instead he came when we freaked out the second time.

If I ran a company, I would always have someone who is in a managerial position to be on site when work is being done. 

I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. Now, we have to get someone else out here to fix their mistake by doing an elephant truck to both trees which will cost us more money because it's much more work intensive.

Rene came over and gave an estimate, we scheduled the work for the upcoming Friday and Saturday. they came on Friday and knocked out the job by Saturday, the even threw in some freebie palm trimming.

The work went well. They were pretty efficient. Their price was just about right. Their cleanup could have been a little better. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

They are excellent; they get 5 stars. Their prices are good and the service is excellent. The on-time could not be better and the workers were outstanding. Cleanup was good and I will use them again in the future. I recommend them to anybody. I had a couple of other bids and these guys were half of what the others would have charged.

Rene provided the estimate, which came in way below the two other estimates I got, because he based it on hiring a crew of five to do whatever they could do in one day, rather than clearing a specified area of the hillside. The crew, led by his brother Ivan, was so hardworking and effective that they ended up doing the entire hillside anyway, for less than one half what others would have charged me for a one-day crew. On top of that, they unexpectedly ran into a huge nest of yellowjackets early in the job, which stung some of them badly and basically had them running for their lives. Instead of giving up, which would not have surprised me, they worked around the problem, avoiding the danger zone and doing as good a job as circumstances allowed. They handled a scary situation with stoicism and remarkable good humor, as well as good judgment.  Ivan particularly impressed me as a smart, experienced leader, and a whiz with a chain saw.  I was equally impressed with his apparent enjoyment and knowledge of gardening (I was transplanting something while they were working and we got into a conversation about it).  It helps to have someone who appreciates growing things, not just cutting them down.
While a tough job like this is bound to cause some collateral damage, it was minimal, and when I pointed out something that needed to be protected or avoided, the crew was careful to do so.  Although the crew arrived a little later, and left a little earlier than the promised 8:30 - 4, this was because they completed the job, including some extra tasks which were not included in the original scope of the job.  Cleanup was exemplary (driveway cleaner than when they started).  So I have no reason for complaint.

I called for an estimate and someone was there a few hours later.  I don't remember his name but he was professional and courteous. The trimmers arrived the next day, on time and worked diligently throughout the day. I asked them to preserve two large nests in the Chinese Elm, which they did.  They cleaned up thoroughly, even removing leaves that had fallen into the pool.  I have used J & J for many years and have always received excellent service at a reasonable price.  Once, a trimmer was moving limbs from the back to the front yard and accidentally knocked off an outdoor light from the neighbors gate, breaking a small pane of glass.  When I called J & J the next day, someone came out, took the light with him and when it was returned the next day, the fixture looked brand new, with a new pane of glass.  The entire fixture was cleaned, polished and gleaming.  Now, this may not be related to tree trimming, but it says a lot about the professionalism of this company. I always recommend them to anyone who asks.

I always use them. They cleared the whole hillside and cut down five trees that were in front. Overall, the work turned out great. Their prices are real good. They get their job done when they say they are going to get it done. They do a great job. I would continue to use them in the future.

I didn’t find them as trustworthy as the other company that I got an estimate from. Their estimate was high compared to what I had paid 4 years ago, but it was high across the board. They were the first ones to give me an estimate. The estimate was $3700 and when I did it the last time it was $2200. It wasn’t rational, but I wouldn’t want to say that they were bad. They didn’t follow up with an e-mail. They didn’t come right away. I think they missed the appointment and they came the next day. I would not consider them for another estimate.

They are much better than other Tree service companies that I have dealt with. They have always been priced much lower than other companies, and they do an excellent job. When I asked them to chop down another tree they did it at a very low cost, and they didn't try to jack the price up on me. They went above and beyond on what ever I needed.

J&J Tree Service always does a good job. They carry out all of their trash and everything. What I like about them is that they don't over-trim the trees. One of the other townhouse owners thought that they were too expensive so they hired someone else for another job and the other company was cheaper but didn't do as good of work. They're on time and they're insured which not everyone is. They are good at responding when you call and if they don't answer they're good about returning calls. They are professional and friendly as well.
