Very conscientious about quality of pool water. Came on a regular schedule. Technicians always happy to discuss any issues while on site.

I got the initial estimate first week of May. It took them about a month to start after I said "yes" to the proposal. Once they started it took about 2-3 weeks to get most of the work done. Although I like the work they did they still haven't replaced two jets in the jacuzzi. They called to get my last payment which I would not pay until they finish the job. They seemed to have no idea the spa was not finished! Their communication within their business seems poor as is their communication with their client. When I called about the missing jets a week after they called for the final check, they said they misplaced the jets they ordered and would get them in as soon as they found them. That was 7/29/2013. They seem very disorganized.

Del Rancho pools provided a quality service and product from start to finish. Building a pool can be a frustrating job because of many of the unknowns and budget concerns. Chuck, our contractor, was our single point of contact from start to finish. He was always available and onsite most days. Every facet of the job was thoroughly discussed and budget met. Chuck always delivered the information up front during the building process, answered our questions completely and worked with my husbands time constraints on our meeting times. Stop right now and Call Del Rancho pools! They are truly the best in this area!

Del Rancho Pools is OK, if you have a simple system and all you need is a weekly chemical check. That is about all the regular route guys are capable of doing. If you want someone to take care of everything so that you don't have to do anything but enjoy the pool, do not use this company. Note that they also sell products out of their store in Encinitas and build pools. I have no experience with them as pool builders.

"I apologize for the very late response to the member's complaint but we have not been actively monitoring Angie's List, but intend to do so in the future to minimize confusion. I will give the member credit for acknowledging that she has no negative experiences with our retail store or construction departments, but the complaint she makes about our pool service is not justified. Our monthly service contract is for just that; basic service 4 times per month. That includes netting the pool, checking and adjusting basic chemicals, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, and advising the client of any other work needed. Any work needed beyond the basic service is done by our service department and needs to be authorized by the client. The service technician needs to visit the site and write up a quote and get customer approval before the work is performed. I'm sure if we just went out and fixed whatever we wanted, then billed her for it without her approval we would not get paid for that work. I don't know what her builder did to repair the leak, but it may not have been the same work that we intended to do. It also may have been related to his construction work or covered by his warranty to some extent. We have hundreds of happy clients in our service area, have literally thousands of clients buy from our retail store, and have built or remodeled hundreds of pools in the area with just one complaint on Angie's List over 5 years. I think that in itself speaks well for Del Rancho Pools. If anyone has any concerns that were not addressed in this response I would be glad to discuss it further at .
