 + -1 moreThey seemed very nice at first, then after they checked out our entire car, which we didn't want, we just wanted airconditioner to be fixed, they came up with a list of things that needed to be done with an expensive estimate. We just had an overal check up on our car, so we know we didn't need anything else done. They did not tell us that they would do a complete overview of our car, for that is something we did not want to pay for. We are happy that they fixed the airconditioner, but we were frustrated that they charged us for a complete check up. Also, they came up with different prices throughout the time I was there. They offered freebees in hopes of getting new customers, but that is not of interest to me. They did take my coupon and I was thankful for that.

 + -1 moreThey had a new mechanic on duty and he did something that caused a big problem to my car. They were very kind in trying to compensate and correct the problem that the young mechanic caused. The owner really tried but the problem created quite a mess. The young mechanic forgot to put the cap back on and it was a hot day and the oil went all throughout the engine. My car was smoking. They paid to have the under hood tag changed. They had the mechanic come out and clean my garage because it was a mess all over the floor. It took him for about 1 ½ hours to clean the floor. The mechanic had only been on the job for 3 months. They really go out of their way to please and they try to make sure that you are a satisfied customer before you leave the shop. I had to take it back for them to clean it again.
Description of Work: I used Marty's Motors for an oil lube and checkup.

They always get the work done in the time frame they say they will. Their prices are very competitive. They keep an ongoing record of the maintenance they have done on my car. They also send out coupons and specials for discounts on service. They even offer you a ride home. The owner offers a class on car maintenance for women.

 + -1 moreIt was excellent. One thing that helped a lot. The failure of my oxygen sensor made my catalytic converter go bad and they let me know that should be paid for under warranty. This was an example of great service and integrity. So I did have that repair done at a dealership.

Description of Work: I brought a total of two vehicles into Marty's Motors. The first was a Jeep Liberty that had a severe engine problem. I needed to know if it was an issue that should be fixed or if the car was ready for the junk yard. That assessment was done promptly and in a detailed manner. The previous shop I had taken it to didn't even do a compression test on the engine. Marty's let me keep my vehicle at their location until it could be towed away. They were very pleasant while I waited for the tow truck driver. I sat in a quiet waiting area that was separate from other customers and the work area. It even had Wi-Fi but I didn't know that at the time or I would have brought my laptop. After that vehicle was taken away, I brought in my other car. It had sat for four years without being driven. When I tried to drive it back in January, it was idling rough and I wanted to get it back into running condition. Marty's gave me a prompt and DETAILED estimate about everything that was wrong with the vehicle. They even found problems with a previous repair that had been done at another shop. This only goes to show that if you take your vehicle some place that doesn't have a good reputation, you might have something occur like a brake hose being put on THE WRONG WAY. I told them that I needed my vehicle back before a certain date and I picked it up on time and at the agreed upon price. We have a game plan for future repairs that are on the horizon as well. This will be the shop where I take all of my vehicles in the future (I own two at the moment). One of the other nice aspects about Marty's is that he treats women as customers and not as ignorant car owners who need to be talked down to. I am SO tired of the "little lady" routine that I STILL get despite it being 2011. I know my way around an engine and I like to be treated with respect. I'm really quite fatigued with the beer belly red-neck type smirking at me from behind the counter. I know that i will have a good experience at Marty's.

 + -1 moreThis experience was a real eye opener. The former auto shop we went to was nothing compared to this shop. We brought our car here for just an oil change and when we got it back, it was a total change. They did a nice job and their location is very convenient. They are very honest and explain in detail, the work they were going to perform. They had my car for a week because they had to wait on parts. During that time, they were able to give me a loaner until my car was finished. I haven't used my car much, so I cannot comment on the changes. For the work that they did, I thought it was high, but my car may be in the best shape than it was before. I originally went in for an $35 oil change. Instead I spent $2000 and hopefully, I have a better functional car. I would use this company again in the future.

It appeared that the former shop we used to take our car to missed a lot of repairs that our vehicle needed. We had an oil change and other work to get our vehicle back to a good working state.
