"I just saw your review. I am absolutely flabbergasted and quite frankly insulted you will be held accountable for posting a false review And defamation of character of Christian Roofing. I will be contacting Angie's list and letting them know about this. If you remember, Sir, Christian Roofing did not install your flat roof the only work we did for you or the contractor was waterproof a driveway with living quarters underneath custom stairs and a deck.we never installed your roof sir. I felt this needed immediate attention so I am responding on my mobile.make sure you get your facts straight as you are treading on dangerous ground.I find it odd I have only heard of this just now. You never contacted me did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?I know and you know the roofing contractor that installed that flat roof your beef is with him not us. I suggest you correct your false statements to avoid any further aggravation. Do the right thing and correct your statements."
Shawn was punctual as was his workers and they left the worksite clean daily. Our problems were in regards to the actual quality of work that was performed. The 2X6s cuts weren't straight, fascia was warped, the tongue and groove boards weren't fitted appropriately so it left gaps and he wanted us to fill it in with silicone, the stucco damaged that was left after the cut back of the A frame was never refilled with patch leaving huge holes Shawn stated "Well I'm really not a stucco guy." We knew that prior to the work, however he said he would patch the holes temporarily until we could have it re-stuccoed at a later date. We only got six air vents when we were quoted for 8 and the vents were placed too low and should have been placed higher on the roof...heat rises, but I guess it is better than nothing. The sanding of the wood and primer of all the wood was not done as promised, he claims that he never said he would do that. This was followed by, "I'm really not a salesman I'm more of a worker." Hmmm it's his company as a part owner don't you back up your work? A man/company is only as good as his word. The insulation that was suppose to be R30 grade turns out apparently not to be as we were told by several other contractors...electrical, AC and pest control. None of the other contractors had a vested interest in making a buck off of the insulation but let us know that we did not get what we paid for? When we spoke to him at the job site Shawn really didn't know how to respond to everything, in fact he seemed like a deer caught in headlights. At one point he stated, "I'm a roofer and I have never run into these issues" in regards to the fascia being warped and the groove boards not fitting appropriately. On a subsequent visit he brought his brother Josh along. Josh knocked off $200 for the warp and ill fitted tongue and groove boards, when asked what it would cost to have it done right it would have cost more than $200, but they were only giving us a $200 break in price for their mistakes? From the street the roof looks beautiful, but close up you can see the workmanship. I can't wait for the first California rain storm to see if we have any leaks...good thing it hardly rains in California. Shawn's quote was quite a bit higher in price than most other bids for the same work. But we went with Christian Roofing on the guise of you get what you pay for and boy did we not get what we paid for :(
ADDENDUM TO THE RESPONSE: This client did not have a third party post anything she was present at the meetings except for the last walk through when Shawn brought his brother to the house. All the so called extras with the exception of the electrical inspection were not additional work and I would say that any roofer that installs a roof would want to make sure that there would not be a fire hazard created by any work that they perform? True that in any type of business you can't please everyone, however to ask a customer to put silicone filling to fill in gaps really? He did one job for my brother not several and it was an industrial flat roof? We paid $8,000 for the job, however we were told that it would be more than the balance of $950 to fix the warped, roller coaster, uneven roof, and the original quote of $9,580 was to include the extra roofing materials needed to cover the detached garage, which would have coast a couple thousand more to do, this house is only 1,100 sq. feet. We were sent a letter for a lien of $2,638.48 from the suppliers even though we had given Christian Roofing the bulk of the money for the job. So if we supposedly only owe Christian Roofing $950 why would the suppliers send us a lien notice for almost 2.8 times what we owe? We have dealt with many contractors as we own several rentals and family homes and Christian Roofing by far has been the most unprofessional company we have ever had to deal with.
