Derek did a great job for our project in Laguna Hills. Gave me good suggestions and did exactly what he promised, very professional, at a reasonable price. He even took care of a few additional things that weren't part of our original quote - which I really appreciated.

The project was done quickly, and as discussed. No surprises. Very happy with the end product.

He identified the source of the pressure problem, which was the regulator. He also fixed one of the valves.

JD did a really good job and gave me some good advice . He was prompt, courteous and very reasonable.

Called late morning to make an appointment. He came 30 minutes early to the prescribed appointment. Evaluation of work needed to be done and repairs made were done very quickly. The price charged was fair and very reasonable. I will hire this company again to do future repairs on my irrigation system.

The work was performed quickly with professionalism and high quality. It was very refreshing working with someone that is honest, punctual and fairly priced. These are the guys I'm turning to whenever I have sprinkler issues.

We had some work done by Derek Whiston Sprinklers aka JD Sprinklers in August 2016. When a detailed invoice was requested so that we could submit a claim related to the repair, Wendy the admin said she couldn't do anything to help and Derek refused to provide "unless he got paid first." We attempted to further explain and even offered to outline what we needed through phone calls and emails. These went unanswered. After several weeks, an invoice and note threatening court action was sent to the tenant living at the property. Derek ignored additional attempts to resolve the issue and has since filed a lawsuit in small claims court against the tenant and owner who lives out of state. While we would normally prefer to support a small local business owner I would NOT recommend Derek Whiston Sprinklers if you need professional service repair. He may be cheap and on-time but Derek and his employees lack basic customer service and communication skills.

I am exremely impressed by four things. 1. How quick I was able to get this expert to our house. 2. How fast he was able to complete the job. 3. The quality of the work and 4. How reasonable the price was. Hey Orange County, look no further for sprinkler repair. He has all the qualities I look for in any vendor and you can't beat the price. I would use him again and recommend him to others with sprinkler repair needs.

Amazing service! Derek came on his Saturday @ 1pm just to help me, so when they say "24 hrs. Emergency Repair", they mean it! Super sweet, on time, and super helpful and fixed our leak for a very low price! And by the way, the person who recently wrote a bad review on this company doesn't know what he is talking about! Derek was so professional and drove all the way from Santa Margarita to come help me which is about a good 2 hours away, especially on his Saturday!! I just can't stress this enough, because everyone else that I called were either closed or didn't want to help me right there on the spot. This company will have my Buisness FOREVER!!!

Derek was very responsive, courteous, and efficient in assessing and fixing the problem. Three valves needed replacing. He also checked all sprinkler heads and replaced a couple that weren't efficiently dispensing spray.

The job described to him was "fix the wiring on the sprinkler heads and check all of the sprinklers to make sure each has the right type of head and is adjusted properly (not watering too much/too little and facing the correct direction). I left the house for about 30 minutes. When I came back, he said he was done; fixed the wiring and replaced one broken sprinkler. I asked him if he checked all of the sprinklers to see if they were adjusted properly. He said yes. He told him how much I owed him and gave him a check. Problems: 1) he did not introduce himself when he arrived, 2)he did not check the sprinklers. I have sprinklers watering the concrete and plant areas that are dry. 3) I have a large note on the sprinkler timer that says, "do not change any settings on the timer," yet he changed the settings without asking me or telling me, 4) I faked him for his business card. He said its in the timer, got in his truck and left. In my timer, he had glued his business card onto the directions on the timer, and glued a 2nd one on the plastic. The glue was still wet, so I was able to remove them, but the glue had already destroyed the instructions.

Derek and his wife Wendy were very prompt. They got back to us right away and gave us a bid quickly. Derek is professional And did a quality job. We are super happy with his service and highly Recommend Derek.

Could not have gone better. After getting home late one night, I discovered a large leak and that my timer had failed. I called at 9:30 PM expecting to leave a message, but Wendy answered the phone and was able to schedule me for the following day! Derek came out at the exact appointment time and quickly found and repaired all issues, including replacing the sprinkler timer with a new unit. He found and repaired the leak, replaced several sprinkler heads, and tuned the whole system front and back yards. The entire system is working perfectly now....

I initially thought about trying to do what I needed done myself but decided it was a bit much for me, and I'm very glad I decided against it. I first called another company, which was going to charge me over $80 to come check out the job and then give me a price with the estimate fee applied to the job. That's maybe reasonable considering it takes a person his time to come out and give an estimate, but I think that almost locks you into hiring him with money already invested. Anyway, I decided to call JD Sprinkler and Wendy answered and said there was no charge for their on-site estimate, which worked for me because I wasn't sure what general price we were talking about yet. Derek came out and I told him what I wanted, and he gave me his price, and because he seemed to know what he was talking about and because of all the favorable Angie's reviews and the fact that his price seemed very reasonable, I hired him. The sprinkler repairs and installation of the new drains took place over parts of a few days, which was fine with me because it wasn't an emergency job and Derek needed to bring different equipment over different days and let some things dry before doing the next stage. I won't go through all the work he did for us, I'll just summarize by saying THANK GOODNESS I didn't attempt it myself. Derek knows what he's doing, and he did a great job for us, handling issues I didn't even know were part of what the job entailed. His work was outstanding, the finished product is outstanding, and his price for all he did for us was more than reasonable. And no, I could not have come close to matching what Derek did if I had tried to do it myself. If/when I have any sprinkler/drain issues I need handled in the future, I will definitely hire this company again.

Wendy, in their office, was very helpful and called me back within 5 minutes with a next day appointment for an estimate. Today, Derrick showed up and must have been having a bad day because he had a very surly attitude from the beginning. When I showed him what I wanted to do (replace one 6 station outdoor controler with a new 9 station indoor one) he became combative. All he wanted to do is tell me why he couldn't do the job. I asked to have the contoler installed in my garage with the rear wiring run up through the attic (single story home with easy attic access) but he tried to talk me out of it. Finally he said he didn't go into attics even though systems like this are frequently done in my area. I did not even ask about the other work I wanted done, I just asked him to leave. He might do great work but I couldn't get past his attitude. He just seemed like he didn't want to be here.

Awesome company. The office staff called within minutes of me submitting info on Angies list. With the crazy water shortage scares I was very pleased within a few hours they had someone to my house. On the phone I had even said main unit was almost 20 yrs old so I was open to replacing it. Nope!!! they are very honest. Sprinkler issue ended up being my neighbors artificial turf leaking water from its sprinklers tapped off below. Valve.. even though they all look old only one needed repair so only one got fixed! Price for same day repair was less than my normal garden charges to look at my sprinklers. So glad I called these people first! They will be my go to sprinkler people from now on. So nice to have a water issue totally resolved from phone call to installation of new parts all finished in a few hours!!!!

Went very well and after completion and removal of tree roots and replacement of several sprinkler lines every thing worked great. Technician was courteous and prompt .

Wow, cannot believe this company has any good reviews after my experience. I called to schedule an appointment and was told that Wendy would have to call her husband to find his schedule. Not a huge deal, but why shouldn't the person answering the phone keep the schedule? She calls back later and leaves a message for me that they'll be there at 11 the following day. I call back and leave a message saying I wanted to know if there was a cost or not and that I was getting competitive bids. She called back saying no cost for the quote. Her husband was on time which was good, but from the moment he got out of his truck, he was not very friendly. I explained what I wanted him to look at. He said ok, messed with the timer to turn it on zone after zone for like 1 or 2 minutes. He goes in back, I go inside for a bit, come back out and he's out front already after maybe 5 minutes, not nearly long enough to really analyze the back areas. Then he starts adjusting a sprinkler head not far from my driveway, turning it way up causing it to completely spray my car. I had already adjusted everything down as to not overspray. He goes on and adjusts another one. I finally say to him, you can just wait on adjusting and give me a quote to do all the work later. He asks if I have to get back to work and I say no, but I am getting competitive quotes and do not want him to spend a bunch of time doing work, just want to know what needs to be done and how much it will cost. He gives me kind of a dirty look and a grunt, goes to the back for about 1 minute, comes back up and says, ok, I'll call you in 20 minutes and leaves. Never heard back from him. I understand it takes time which is money to the contractor to come out and give a bid an then they may not get picked, but why would I just blindly pick someone and have them do the work. If you need to charge a small fee to come out and give a bid, I can understand, and I would have gladly paid. I've found a lot of contractors on Angie's List, but I've never experienced such an unprofessional one as JD Sprinklers. Luckily I found another great contractor who was very detailed and meticulous in his analysis and gave me honest detailed advice on what needs to be done. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The response from JD Sprinklers is not correct. The first paragraph is, but second is not. Her husband was not even there 15 minutes total. I told him the second he started working on stuff that I wanted a quote and I told her the same over the phone before he ever came so there should have been no confusion. Her husband also never gave me any quote. He said he'd call to give one, but never did.

This is an exceptional Team! They were prompt and professional when setting appointment and the job was done on-time and with outstanding results. They were great communicators and offered pricing we thought was a good value. I highly recommend JD Sprinklers - the project could not have gone better.

I called Wendy on a Sunday afternoon. Even though their business hours do not include Sunday, Wendy still answered the phone and made an appointment for me on the following Monday morning. Derrick, her husband, was on time, and tried to help me find out if my water leak was tied to the house or to the sprinkler system. After siphoning off the water from the hole where the sprinkler valve is located, and finding the shutoff valve to the sprinkler system so that I could turn on the main valve to the house water, it was determined that the leak was either in the wall, or under the slab in the garage. Derek did not charge me a service call, but suggested I call a plumber as it was beyond what he could do. I was very appreciative and told him I would call him back should I ever need my sprinklers fixed in the future. This was all done even before I told him I was an Angie's List member.

I called JD Sprinklers and spoke to Wendy. She called me back in a few minutes and said Derrick would come by within the hour. He came over within the hour and assessed the situation. He was there for an hour looking at everything. He gave me a great quote (I had received three quotes prior and his was by far the most competitive and honest). I told him that one repairman said we needed 40 new rainbird heads - he laughed because he couldn't understand why that was even quoted when the valves weren't working to determine which rainbirds were working or not. He came back later that day and started the work. He was there for a couple of hours, came back again the next two days. He also met with my husband to discuss what he was doing. We couldn't meet with Derrick until the following weekend to go over the new timer and confirm the work was done. Everything was done perfectly and to my husband's satisfaction. My husband was very impressed and happy! Derrick is an HONEST, punctual and professional. His specialty are sprinklers (my husband said that Derrick was so focused and in the zone) when he was working at our home. I would definitely recommend him, hire him again and will tell all my neighbors, family and friends. The other three quotes I got were over inflated and double the amount that he charged for the work that really needed to be done.

JD Sprinklers (Derek) was very responsive. He was punctual, very knowledgable and easy to talk too. He went right to work in assessing my areas of concern. In a very short order Derek had completed all of the work I had requested. After completing the repairs he verified that the replacement valve and repairs were working properly and I found his pricing to be extremely reasonbable. I would highly recommend JD Sprinklers to anyone with lawn irrigation issues as Derek does excellent work.
