High Tech Tree Care

I am writing this review after 5 weeks of time and $7,500 of money WASTED on High Tech Tree Service. Adam is the "owner" of this business; however, you can hardly call him a business owner, as he is, hands down, the most unreliable, irresponsible and now most dishonest person I have ever worked with. Adam came and bid a tree trimming job, which, after convincing my husband (and myself) of the complete backyard renovation he could do within a few weeks, we decided to pull the trigger and create the backyard we had been wanting. He gave us a great price and assured us that he and his crew would be onsite every day to get the work done. We paid the first 1/3 of the payment right away, so he could get started. He removed the trees in a timely manner but then left huge pieces of wood on the side of our house, telling us day after day that he would chip it and haul it away. He then came to us and stated that he needed another payment so that he could go buy the remainder of the material for the job. We hesitated but had him sign an agreement that he would finish the work by Sept. 19 or we would dock $100 per day. In the meantime, he received approximately 5 other jobs in our neighborhood because our neighbors trusted that we had hired a reputable guy and company. He also collected full payment for at least one of those jobs. Fast forward 5 weeks and we are left with over 30 pieces of dangerous rebar sticking out of our ground (keep in mind we have small children and dogs), nails spewed around in our dirt, and 2 x 4's laying around. And we, along with our neighbor, have not been able to get a hold of Adam for 5 days. He will not answer his phone, has not returned ANY of our calls, and now has a full voicemail. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the city, as this crook has taken probably over $10k from our neighborhood alone!
