Description of Work: We needed a new roof with your typical flat roof tiles. Juan was very helpful with letting us borrow samples so my wife could see it during the weekend. Always returned my calls when I had a question. His team was punctual friendly and the job was done on time. Would recommend.

Description of Work: I contacted a Mr. Strada ..a roofer ... to come and give me an estimate for re-roofing my abode. The man returned my call and said he'd be there between 9 and 11 am the next day. He did not show up , his number didn't answer, he didn't have the courtesy of letting me know he couldn't come, and pinned me down for half a day for nothing! I wanted to make a comment that this man was not reliable.

Description of Work: Overall good work and I would refer them again. I had the clay tile replaced on my two story home of approx 1700 sq. ft. I agreed to they could use as much of the existing title before purchasing new ones. Which they did and only needed to purchase new tiles for about 5% of the entire roof. They cleaned up everything after they fiinished for the day. The job took six days; which was delayed by one day due to 1) waiting for the building inspector to come later than afternoon; and 2) rain. They started around 7:30 am and left by 4 pm. My only suggestion to the owner was that I would have preferred that the "better" of the existing tiles be used on the front of the house since that's the part most folks see. I shouldn't have to tell the team leader that, I felt it should be automatic. The Owner comes to give you the estimate and will check on things but it is his brother who serves as the onsite project manager. They had a look of wood to replace due to termite damage but I'm grateful that the inspector noticed it before they were allowed to lay the black paper. They complied and my house passed inspection.

Removed & replaced house's old roof, scupper drain & coping metal. Two dormers added. Garage's roof ridge tiles replaced to match existing roof & some damaged tiles also replaced. Juan Estrada was extremely trustworthy & accommodating during two walk-thru's to correct worker oversights (plastering over stucco that fell off during re-roof, replacing missing & making new screens for gutter drains, & replacing damaged tiles). Overall clean-up during the job was good; a few nails & bits of tile were missed after job completed.
Description of Work: Completely re-roof house, replaced scupper drain & coping metal, & added two dormers. Minor garage roof repair replacing roof ridge tiles & some damaged tiles.

Mr. Estrada's crew arrived punctually every morning and got right to work. There was always a supervisor on site. The work took a week. My roof has quite a steep pitch. They also did the garage. Every day they put their things away and cleaned up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who needs a roof. The other day a Terminex rep came by to perform annual termite inspection, and he couldn't stop talking about my new roof. He said he never sees work of this quality anymore. He knows more than I do, so that was nice to hear. The price of the job was extremely reasonable, and the work was top notch.
Description of Work: Tore off existing roofing, hauled debris away. Replaced rotted wood and installed 1/2'' CDX plywood sheathing as well as a layer of 15# felt underlayment. Installed new pipe and vent flashings. Installed new metal valleys and new 1x2 edge metal. Installed 30-year shingles according to mfr's specs. Installed ridge caps. My house was built in 1924 and has a steep pitch to the roof.

My first experience with Angie's list. I need a roofer to fix a leak. JC Estrada Roofing Inc showed the most favorable rating in my neighborhood. I called and left a message. No response. Approximately two weeks later I called and left another message. No response.

Mr. Estrada's bid was right in the middle of the three bids that I took. He was prompt for our initial meeting to give me the bid, and work was begun on the date agreed to. Mr. Estrada and his crew were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves each day leaving the place very neat and tidy. Though the work took a little longer than Mr. Estrada had anticipated, no shortcuts were taken, and the job was completed exactly as specified. I was very pleased and would gladly hire him again for any future roofing jobs.
Description of Work: They tore off and replaced the flat roof of an 8 unit apartment building, including 6 detached garages.

Did excellent job. Stayed within quote. Finished in time stated. Used top grade materials and still came in at much less than competition. Very well pleased with job. Did several extra touches we didn't expect, like getting paint to match the rafters that needed replacing, and replacing old side board and re-plastering.

The overall experience was excellent. Mr. Estrada was extremely professional. He was punctual, responsive, and I thought his price quote was good. We had some heavy rainfall about a week after the job was done, and no rain came through. I can see part of my roof from another building and it looks pretty good. My only complaint would be that I wished I had asked him to try to match the material that he sealed my skylights with to the other skylights on my roof. Although from the ground one can't see the dissimilarity of material, knowing that it exists bugs me.

This work took 3 days, & Mr. Estrada & his crew were consistently on time, very courteous, & careful about the work. They left the property in clean condition. In comparison to 3 other companies, J.C. Estrada Roofing was exceptional in providing a reasonably priced fixed-price contract (except for a charge of $3/linear foot of wood for wood repair) for an old house, garage, & carport which have not been well-maintained over the years. The garage in particular was an unknown risk factor for additional work. Mr. Estrada absorbed half the charge for the additional wood replacement work necessary for the garage. I know how much work & wood were used because I was at home for the re-roofing. In comparison to the other companies, I found J.C. Estrada Roofing to be the most polite & careful in their explanations. I think I was treated extremely fairly & professionally, which does not always happen to women who are dealing with men in home improvement trades.
Description of Work: Re-roofed 1920s house, detached 2 car garage, & detached carport. Work included pitched roof sections (reroofed with composition shingle), flat roof sections with parapet walls, & flat roof sections without parapet walls. New scuppers & vents were installed. The garage roof & carport roofs, in particular, required much wood replacement & repair. Pre-existing tiles were scattered & in inconsistent condition. Work included removal & hauling away of pre-existing roofs. The roofing work included hot mopping one layer of 11 lb. plysheet to one layer of 25 lb. base sheet & one layer of 72 lb. cap sheet to ply sheet. The roofing material was turned up the parapet walls to the outside edge. The work is guaranteed against leakage due to normal usage for 5 years.

ONCE WE GOT IT ORGANIZED IT WENT VERY WELL AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY DID A VERY NICE JOB. THEY ALSO CLEANED UP WELL (NO SHINGLES WERE LEFT). THERE WAS A BIT OF A PROBLEM WITH SCHEDULING (OUR SCHEDULES DIDN'T MEET UP) BUT AS SOON AS IT WAS SCHEDULED, THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. THEY STARTED AND FINISHED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. HE WAS AGREEABLE WHEN I REQUESTED CHANGES TO THE CONTRACT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM, JUST UNDERSTAND SCHEDULING MIGHT BE TROUBLESOME.

IT WAS EXCELLENT WORK AND A VERY GOOD PRICE. WE GOT ESTIMATES. ALL THE OTHER ESTIMATES WERE AT LEAST TWICE AS MUCH. THE MAN WHO GAVE THE ESTIMATE RUNS THE COMPANY, AND HE WAS THERE SUPERVISING THE WORK. IT WAS MR. JUAN ESTRADA. IT WAS EXCELLENT. I WAS VERY, VERY PLEASED. THEY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. I'VE RECOMMENDED THEM TO NEIGHBORS. THE MAN WHO RUNS THE COMPANY WAS THERE ON THE JOB SUPERVISING THE WORK EVERY DAY, WHICH IS REMARKABLE FOR A CONTRACTOR. HE WAS HONEST.
