"Hello [Member Name Removed] & thank you for this review, but it was quite painful to see so many inaccuracies and exaggerations. The property you were living in was, indeed, going through an electrical upgrade and had renovations done to it, but it’s very important for everyone to understand that Crescent Canyon was not involved in those efforts at all! We literally had nothing to do with the renovations or the electrical upgrade. Your accusation that management was “shady” or that we lied is particularly hurtful and just straight up wrong. The onsite manager was an absolute rock star, managing through a really difficult situation where she, and us, had no ability to speed up the electrical upgrade. She was communicative to all the tenants, apologized endlessly to everyone, and was providing ideas to us for what we could do to make things better. Yes, there was a time where we told you the work should be done by a certain date (given to us by the owner), but then it wasn’t. But did we “lie” to you because that date didn’t happen? Of course not! We were just as disappointed and frustrated as the residents to find out that the project was delayed. You mention that you weren’t given 24 hours notice for power outages. This one is perplexing to us because we absolutely gave 24 hours notice for all PLANNED power outages, but clearly we can’t give a future notice of an UNPLANNED power outage. That’s the frustrating thing about the unplanned power outages- they are unplanned! The “Manager” didn’t tell you that anyone was trying to “get around” a city inspector – we has zero interaction with the City inspectors! You might have spoken with one of the construction guys, either a Foreman or a Project Manager, but we have no idea what this person might have told you. [Member Name Removed], please accept our sincere apologies for how bumpy your stay was at this property. We’re proud of how we handled a difficult situation and we really hope you’ve found a new home you’re happy with. Be well and safe!"
My initial in-person meeting with someone at CC (Jon) went well and he clearly explained all that was involved in renting out my condo, and how his company would help. He was very flexible in meeting immediately and evaluating my condo.
Once I decided to sign with CC, they quickly cleaned up and fixed up the condo to be ready for rental. This was conveniently done without me needing to be there. Because they have their own contractors, communication between CC, the contractor, and myself was seamless.
They also handled all rental listings (on several major websites), showings, and rental applications, credit/background checks, etc. They kept me apprised with who had submitted rental applications so that I could make an informed decision on who to accept. Signing a tenant was likewise handled without a problem. I'm very happy with the tenant that ultimately rented, and still is renting, my place.
Issues with the rental, such as appliances breaking down, have been brought to my attention quickly and resolved accordingly.
CC also acts as the primary contact for the rental unit with the HOA management company which they handle very well. I'm copied on all correspondence from the HOA manager, but I rarely need to respond to issues.
The CC team is always very easily reached and they give me the sense of providing direct attention via individuals' e-mails and phone numbers, i.e. not like having to work through a 1-800 hotline. The staff are friendly, reasonable, and professional.
Finally, the cost of their services is very competitive, and I really believe I'm getting the best value out of my money with Crescent Canyon when comparing with other rental management companies.
First I needed renovations done, quickly and within budget. They (along with a design firm that consult with often) came up with a great plan for my condo well within my budget. Since I am out of state they provided me with many e-mails and pictures keeping me up to date on the renovations. My condo now looks better then when I was living in it!
Once that was done we worked together to find the correct asking price for rent. After a bit we found the right price for the neighborhood and now I have a tenant.
Jon and Will will contact you as much as you want...if you want them to tell you about every little thing they will. If you only want a quarterly report then that's how they will do it.
There is absolutely no one else I would be more comfortable handing the renovations and renting of my condo to.
