Door Replacements of Sonoma County

I am really pleased with Steve’s workmenship. He took accurate measurements of all the doors and kept in touch with me about the status of the doors (there was a delay because two of the doors were a non-standard size). Once the doors were complete and painted, he brought them over and was able to install all eight doors in one day - hardware (including matching door stops), balancing and all. Some of the door frames are not level due to house settling, but the way he installed the doors, you can’t even tell. I am recommending him to my friends who are also remodeling now.

I am again following up on two reviews (12/15/16 and 07/01/17) I made of Door Replacements of Sonoma County. Because Steve responded quickly to my 07/01/17 issue, I wanted to do so with an updated review in return. I am happy to say that the problem door handles have now been replaced at no cost to us with what looks like I envisioned the hardware to be in the beginning. Steve ordered and installed the new product quickly and in a very professional manner. Thank you.

When Door Replacements came out to see what had transpired, we were told that this is what is supposed to happen, a gradual wearing of the hardware. This is not a gradual wearing, as in a patina that might happen over time, but a peeling of the exterior coating. If we had been told prior that this is what would happen, we would have gone with a different finish. Again, these handles were but a few months old when this first occurred. The first handle disclosed was replaced with the same finish but we were told that any other handles were too expensive to replace if more of them had issues. As far a hiring again, I did choose Yes (because you HAVE to choose one or the other, without room for comment to submit a review) but that is ONLY if expectations to replace door handles are ever met. Otherwise I would choose No.

Steve is very meticulous. He first came out to give us an estimate and showed us exactly what was involved and the cost breakdown. Once we agreed to go forward, he then spent a few hours taking measurements of all the doors , including hinge locations etc. We were told up front it would be eight weeks before the doors would be installed (he actually got us in a little earlier). One thing I like about Steve's setup is he uses a paint shop to paint the doors, so they get multiple sprays in a paint room, rather than having a contractor show up at the house and paint them in the garage. A good gauge of a contractor is when something goes wrong. Steve installed all the doors and realized he had made a mistake on one door (I believe the hinge area was machined out to open the wrong way). My wife said he was pretty upset with himself. He made it a priority to get it right and took the door home with him, fixed it and came back 4 days later to finish and install. We are very happy with the doors and the work that was done. The only reason I gave the price a 4 is the cost was around $425 per door, which isn't cheap, but you will get quality doors and quality work. I would definitely recommend Steve to anyone who is looking for replacement doors.

Steve was very organized and meticulous in his work. When we called him for a slight adjustment on a couple of doors, he was there very quickly and took care of things. I would recommend Door Replacements of Sonoma County because of their quality workmanship and friendly service.
