The board authorized the payment for the costs of the permits at that time, not to exceed $1,500.00. After they received the permits we were sent an invoice for $1,500.00. Later we learned that the permits only cost $786.00.
1 Stop Pool Pros started work on the project and for 4 days straight they came to the project and worked between 4 and 6 hours. Then all work stopped. After a week of no work I was finally able to reach the project manager Jeff and he said that they need to have an electrician come in since there were things that were unforeseen. I asked if they were going to finish on time and he said that there was no time stated in the contract. Several days later we were contacted by Jeff's boss and told that there were unforeseen issues in regards to the electrical work and that the project would cost $3-5,000 more than what was bid and that the contact allowed for them to charge more if there were "unforeseen circumstances." We found out that the reason that the electrical challenges were "unforeseen" was that they did not have a electrician look at the job before it was bid, even though we specifically told them that an electrical box need to be moved and rewired. We also found out that the actual cost of the electrical work was no more that $2,000. Mark insisted that we sign a change order and pay the additional money before they would return to the job. We negotiated an additional cost of $2,000.
By now we were at the two week point of the job. At every step of the job we had to make multiple phone calls to find out when they were going to come out and do additional work. After the 5th week of the 2-3 week project the project manager told us that they would be doing the final phase and be complete in less than a week and in time for the memorial day weekend.
Needless to say he was only off by 3 weeks. The project took more than 8 weeks, was over budget, and the finish work was sloppy and still not done correctly.
Not only did they submit a fraudulent invoice for the permits they simply are not competent to bid a project and not truthful.
DON'T waste your time or your money on 1 Stop Pool Pros.
