My 9 month old German Shepard "Rocco" is extremely pleased with Cottage Kennel! Ok, so when he is left there at first you can tell he isn't too pleased because he knows it's time for a bath, nail trim and he will be without his loved ones for a night. Honestly, what dog would be enthused about grooming and being away from their loved ones. However, Donna and her team rock!!!! Every time I pick Rocco up from Cottage Kennel he couldn't be fluffier, happier, and just all around cleaner. He never shows signs of distress and is in fact more energetic than when I drop him off. Rocco has been going to Cottage Kennel since he was a little pup and will continue to go there. Why? Because he loves it.

They were punctual, friendly and efficient. The windows and screens look great. They were knowledgable about screen repair and replacement. Highly recommend their services.

I have used this company in the past so I called to schedule an appointment over a week ago. Because they prefer someone be home, I arranged to take half a day off work to be there. About 30 minutes before their arrival time, they called and said there was an "emergency call" that required their service. Really? Emergency window washing? I'm am NOT amused and will find another company who is more reliable. I am very disappointed.
Response from Cottage Kennel

"We are so sorry that this happened. It was not an "emergency call". It was a vehicle accident. At Windowsmith we wish we could service every appointment on time, every time. We do have those rare situations where we do have to reschedule, just as many customers call us at the last minute to reschedule. In May, we are running at full maxed out capacity. If one employee calls in sick, or if one vehicle has a safety issue, the unfortunate result is that somebody is not getting their windows cleaned today. Again, we wish that would never happen and we apologize to Mrs Deutch for the inconvenience this unavoidable emergency caused her."

My condo has 9 very large windows in the enclosed veranda and wrap area. These are all on the 2nd floor. I have two other large windows on the first floor and a couple of other small windows. They also cleaned 3 mirrored closet doors. They did a beautiful job on all the windows and mirrors. The windows and screens are so clear, and I can see my view instead of dirty windows. I believe I will have them back twice a year. The did the work very quickly. I am very satisfied with the work that was complete.

It was great! We would have never noticed a problem with our double pain windows without them! There was an indication the problem would get worse.

This year, though, after we scheduled a cleaning, they called back to say they couldn't do our house anymore because the "company had voted that it was too dangerous." They also said their insurance didn't cover more than two stories. I told them we have new windows that their guys remove from the sashes (they had cleaned the new windows a year ago), but it made no difference--they canceled the appointment.
Response from Cottage Kennel

"Gosh, we don't like to turn away business, especially good long time customers like [member name removed]. We used to do the hair raising daredevil work and took a lot of risks but in 2006 our safety practices took on a serious and permanent change due to increasing insurance premiums and pressure from the realities of the danger of our fast growing and popular company. We are now OSHA compliant and do not ever do any work that violates our safety policies, OSHA mandates, or insurance limitations. Windowsmith is not a commercial highrise window cleaning company and our employees are not trained beyond our company safety policies for normal 1 or 2 story homes, which account for the vast majority of our client base. Unfortunately [member name removed] home exceeded our new safety standards and the employees rightfully reported her home as exceeding our safety policy. We do apologize to [member name removed] that we had to decline doing her windows and want her to know that we are thankful that she was our customer for so long. We hope she has found a company that is more geared to safely do her home."

I used them for 2 years. The first year I was thrilled with the work. The windows looked great, they walked me around and showed me some trouble areas that I hadn't noticed. On time, polite, and very thorough. When they came back the second year their charge jumped almost $75. When I went back to compare the price to the first work order, I noticed that their minimum charge listed on the invoice was higher than the quote that they had given me on the phone. I told the person that I had a 2 story house and some vaulted windows. It made me question whether or not they just low balled the quote to get me to make the appointment and then raised the quote once on site. When I questioned them on the increase in charges from year to year they had no explanation. I was having an open house the next day so I had to have them clean the windows. I have to say, they did a great job. The windows looked fabulous. Too bad they couldn't have been more honest about their pricing structure.
