I was a repeat customer to the shop and have told my friends about my initial and positive experiences there. You would think that that would merit some sort of professionalism at least, but not total avoidance of me for 2 months. The bottom line is that i paid $1200 for a tv that only lasted 6 months. I have yet to pick up my TV, but an update will follow at that time. Considering this, I'm hoping he does something (in lieu all my business) to justify the $1200 I spent on an obvious lemon. If he does something to try to resolve this in a professional way, I would be happy to change his rating accordingly, but if not, you can guess what my grade will be.
Description of Work: I've been there several times. I've bought 3 TVs there in the past and have had fine experiences because the TVs didn't have any problems. I thought I got a decent deal and never had any problems with them. I went back to price a much larger tv which was over double the cost. In most stores, you have 30 days to try out the new product. I confirmed this with the sales manager who said that I had 30 days to make sure I was happy (he did not mention that I would be unable to return the TV for a refund within those 30 days). I wasn't real jazzed about the 60 inch Sharp TV I brought home for $1000, but found that their policy applies is only if you're having issues. I exchanged this TV and paid $200 more a 58 inch 3D TV (since I could not get my money back). Six months after purchasing the 3D TV, a black rectangle appeared on the screen. Marvin (the owner of The TV Shop) advised that it was probably something with the board and the repair person found the problem right away. Marvin referred me to a place where I could get the part myself, but the black rectangle was still there. I sent the board back and got a different one that I replaced myself with no change. I took it in for a free diagnosis, called 2 weeks later to check in, but Marvin was busy and couldn't speak with me. I called 2 weeks later and again 2 weeks later, never speaking with Marvin. Finally, 2 months later, I spoke with him who advised that the ribbon was just crammed in, although it was done as I had been shown and the outcome was the same. I explained that despite the attempted repairs, the outcome was the same. I was unaware of their 30 day policy, which is different than every other stores. I wouldn't have ever made this purchase had I known the warranty (or lack of) that The TV Shop offers.
