I asked this person to clean the carpet in the apartment I was moving out of and to do some general light cleaning around the apartment. I offered him $50 + 10% of my deposit which was expected to be around $500. I told him I needed it done by the 5th and I needed an invoice, as was required by my landlord. I gave him $50 upfront. We arranged for him to do it on Saturday the 1st, he called me the day before and asked to do it on the 2nd. Then he called on the 1st and asked to do it on the 2nd. He finally called on the 3rd and promised he'd finish it by the 5th. I didn't mind procrastination as long as the job gets done. I showed up on the 5th expecting to find him working, instead I find the apartment with the windows open and the air conditioner on full blast, since at least the night before(and this is not an energy efficient AC). The carpet looked like it had been vacuumed, and nothing more. Nothing else in the apartment had been touched, except for his stuff left in the kitchen. I called him up to ask what had happened, and he said he was hurt and he'd do it tomorrow morning, I told him that wouldn't work and all he would say is to tell the manager. I had promised the manager I would be out on the 5th and she had painters coming at 7am, so I had to haul his stuff out of the apartment, or else it would have belonged to the manager. I meet him the next morning and asked for the key and $50 back. He said he didn't have the $50. So I gave him some time because I know everyone's having financial trouble lately. He calls 2 days later and says he'll give me $25 because now he claims that he actually cleaned the carpet(first time I heard of it, and a total lie) I tell him that if he wants to try to give an invoice to the manager then he can keep the $50, or I gave him til the 20th to pay me back. He kept saying he'd get me the money, until the 20th. I called him up on the 20th and he cursed and threatened me and then said he would not pay me. This man is a completely dishonest child who should never be trusted in the least.
