On the second floor they were able to avoid opening up the wall in the laundry room where the leak was by putting blowers below and drying it out that way saving us from having to do even more repairs. They were honest, quick, and got the work done. Oscar Rivera was great. He was there the very next day to meet with the insurance agent, and made sure that we had the same crew every day. It took about 4 days for them to get everything dried out and ready for repair. The ratings in this review are specifically for their emergency response division, not the repair department. It was an insurance claim and we still wound up paying a lot out of pocket because their costs are higher then other companies.
Description of Work: We had a water leak on our second floor. PRC came out to check out our walls. They advised us that we needed to pull out the drywall and let it completely dry out.

DO NOT USE PRC! **WATCH MY NEST VIDEOS!!!** My house got flooded a while back, and I was recommended to PRC. They were pretty much the worst construction company I have dealt with to date. 1) Emergency Services Remediation overbilled insurance company by about $8k, they also damaged my garage door and did not pay to fix it. 2) They billed me for 3 months of storage of my belongings but only kept the items there for 2 months and said "the insurance company approved 3 months", and WOULD NOT refund the difference also broke my dressers. 3) Repair took 3 MONTHS LONGER after rework after rework... Started my project in August of 2017 and did not finish until March 2018. They also overbilled by $20k 4) They use a lot of subcontractors... half of the people who worked on my property were not even PRC employees, they turned around ALL my indoor cameras while they were working on my property. UPDATE 5/16/16: I originally wrote a negative review for this company but would like to retract it. It turns out that there was a misunderstanding between me, my insurer and PRC regarding payment for their invoice. Emily who manages their accounts receivable dept contacted me, listened to my side of the situation and helped me to sort everything out. I would like to change my negative review to a positive one. And kudos to Emily for her stellar customer service! Do NOT trust this company! Their contractor Jose Perez arrived and immediately wanted to bring in various drying and dehumidifying machines and cut my walls out even though I told him that I still needed to resolve the matter with my insurance company. I was nervous to allow him to begin any work but he PROMISED me that my insurance company would pay for any service in full. He said that after doing business for several years, he had never experienced a client who didn't have the work paid for in full. Then he said told me that I needed to sign a contract and begin work immediately or the damage would become much worse than it was. He brought in the machines, plugged them all in, again reassured me that the insurance company would pay for everything and even the electricity bill. I was very nervous and hesitant about all of it and voiced this to him several times, but was forced to trust him because I have no knowledge of plumbing or water damage. Then when it was time to pick the machines up, the company missed two appointments, came several days later and still charged me for extra time that the machines were in my property. When I was billed by the company I sent the invoice to my insurance adjuster who said that they had overcharged me for work and had also charged me for work that was never done. The original invoice was for $2200 and my adjuster got the invoice down to $1600 but only paid me out $900. When I went back to the company to discuss this matter, Angelina Chasteen (Accounts Receivable) refused to work with me and even threatened to charge me late fees. I mentioned to Ms. Chasteen several times that I was PROMISED that my insurance company would pay for their services in full - which they did not. Now I am being forced to pay for a bill out of pocket. In summary - this is NOT a company that you should hire or trust. Their contractors lie to you, coerce you into signing their contract for work and then refuse to work with you on the bill that you should never even have been stuck with. They lack honesty and integrity and are just one of those construction companies that preys on homeowners who are in a bind. DO NOT TRUST OR HIRE THEM!

They were very professional and responded very quickly. They were nice and clean in their uniforms. They were very communicative about when they would be here.
Description of Work: I had a slab leak. So the came out and helped to clean up the water. They put up big fans to dry up the walls and the floor and they were also cutting down the walls since the water had ripped up some of the walls. They also brought in drying mats that they laid down everywhere to suck up any remaining water from the floor.

At first it seemed ok. The verbal agreement was $1,600. Two or three guys came and put chemicals under the house, set up pumping equipment and fans. The fans stayed for a few days, then they came back and took their equipment. Pretty simple. When we got the bill, they wanted $6,000! We were shocked and immediately tried disputing it with them, calling, going to the office. They were obviously trying to jerk us around. We paid the $1,600 originally agreed to and wanted to negotiate the rest. The line item invoice had all these extra charges for things that did not happen, it didn't even add up to $6,000. Ridiculous. We didn't hear back from them and figured they just backed down because we complained to the Construction Board, etc. Six months later, we got a notice that we were being sued. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. They are obviously crooks, their lawyer a crook, and they knew it would cost us more to fight it with a lawyer than to settle. We had to settle and ended up paying this dishonest company $7,000 for a simple water clean up job. Unbelievable. I don't know how they sleep at night. DO NOT HIRE PRC!!!

Don't trust them! My home had a water leak and the plumber recommended PRC. They showed up quickly and insured me in person that I won't be charged anything for the visit if my insurance didn't accept them to do the repairs. (mean while the PRC rep is urging me to sign documents) My insurance said PRC has a terrible reputation and they won't work with them. I tell PRC I won't do business with them. 2 months later a bill comes in the mail. No follow up. No concern about my damage just a bill for $800 for 1 hour worth of work. BS Don't trust them!
Description of Work: PRC showed up very promptly and immediatley wanted to set up equipment and urge me to sign documents before I even got the OK from my insurance company. Very pushy.

This project took weeks, as expected, because there was a lot of work to do. Brandon was my project manager, and he responed to all my calls and questions, usually within a half hour of my phone call to him. He explained how the project would proceed, in detail, and I always felt that I knew what to expect next, and why each aspect of the work was being done. HIs team was wonderful. They showed up every morning on time, ready to work. They cleaned up everything after they demo'd, and didn't leave any of the mess for me. The drywall job was flawless, and the retexturing was done so well that I literally couldn't tell where the old dry wall was, and the new began. They even retextured and repainted the walls that would be behind and inside the cabinets and appliances, which told me that they take pride in their work, and don't skimp on the parts that aren't seen. Fernando created a new cabinet identical to what was there, so there was no part of the kitchen that looked like it didn't really belong. They painted all the cabinets, replaced all handles, and repainted all the walls as well as the ceiling. When PRC was done, all agreed upon tasks were done, my kitchen was clean, and my courtyard was clean, too. I then had another company put in the countertops, which turned into an unpleasant experience. The countertops and sink were installed in a satisfactory manor, but they had used painter's tape in the process, and ripped a one inch by twenty feet line of paint off my just painted walls. The countertop fabrication company immediately began to deny responsibility. I called Brandon and asked if he could help, and he offered to come retouch the paint, without charge. Considering the amount of work I had done, I thought the price I paid was very fair. I also appreciated that at no time did anyone ask me to violate any building codes, which ultimately are there to protect the consumer. I intend to do a bathroom remodel next year, and I will use this company. They are professional, pleasant, and go the extra mile to make sure their customers are really pleased with the work they have done. How can it get better than this?
Description of Work: We had a leak in a kitchen drain pipe, that caused damage to the surrounding cabinets, drywall, paint, etc. This leaked required a fairly extensive reconstruction project: cabinets, and the countertops had to be demo'd, drywall had to be replaced, retextured, and painted. A new lower cabinet had to be contructed based only on the footprint it left on the floor. A sub-top had to be cut and installed. All cabinets had to be prepped, in some cases repaired, and then repainted. They also decided to repaint the entire room, in 3 colors, so the room would look fresh and new when they left. The countertops were installed by another fabricator, who damaged the newly painted walls. PRC responded to this immediately, offering to fix a problem that they didn't even create.

We had a pin-hole leak in our copper pipe that started in a ceiling. We had PRC do the demo + dryout, which they were fantastic at. The repairs required replacing drywall on one wall, across the ceiling to the wall on the opposite end. We decided to go with them for restorations as well. The people they had come to our house didn't seem to be affiliated with PRC at all (the demo workers wore uniforms, whereas the repair workers wore regular clothing, and drove up in their personal cars). There were several problems with the repairs that were performed. The work was shoddy at best. 1. They didn't align the drywall correctly or attempt to even it out properly. The first time they declared it finished there was a very visible line across our ceiling in two separate places. I had them repair this about three separate times to smooth it out. 2. They washed off paint tools in my plants in my back yard, covering a section of the plants in white paint. They did the same in the front yard I later found, in a corner that was covered by a bush. 3. They clearly did not care to match up the texture on the repaired areas with the texture in the rest of the room. This left the repaired part of the house with a knockdown-style texture whereas the rest of the house had a finer "bumpy" texture. I asked them to repair this, and then... 4. They did not take proper precautions when spraying drywall mud. I had mud on my belongings. The mud got on freshly painted walls that they had done. They used paint brushes to paint over the mud specks which left an ugly looking touch-up job very visible. 5. They didn't bother hanging pictures / doing other minor tasks. They actually painted over picture hooks. 6. Several "holidays" (spots in the house missing paint) were clearly visible. I had to walk around and point them out for the workers to fix them. All in all, a job that should have taken 4-5 days tops (per their quote) took around 10 days, and i'm still not happy with the work they've done (it has been over a month and a half since they "finished").
Description of Work: Replaced drywall, sprayed drywall mud, painted walls and ceilings.

We just had some plumbing and carpentry work done and it was started by PRC Restoration. I was concerned about what appeared to be a leak on the bathroom floor in the master bedroom. It was one of those kinds of leaks that you could argue was from the shower, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to it until it got to the point where the floor was wet. I called the plumber and they came out and said that the work that needed to be done was not something that they did and so they recommended PRC Restoration in Signal Hill and I had them come out. They brought in a crew of people that took the bathroom apart, found out where all the leaks were, and brought in their equipment and set it all up which included some heaters, some dryers, and some evaporators. They put up an enclosure in the master bathroom and ran their equipment for 4 days 24/7. At the very beginning the guy that's running this crew (who's name I didn't keep) brought out a contract for me to look at and sign. He just pointed out and said sign here, sign here, and sign here. I'm concerned about the leak so I'm not really completely paying attention to what I signed, but he verbalized what the crew would do, get rid of the moisture and the mold and then restore the bathroom to an operating condition. Well in fact it didn't say that on the contract. All it said on the contract was that they would take care of the mold and the moisture and leave me with deciding whether or not to use them to restore the bathroom to the previous condition before the leak started. Well, they charged me for that work which included two guys coming in and building an enclosure, taking wallboard out to find out where it was leaking, and ripping up the fascia board off the bottom of the wall. They charged me $1,500 and they were there for about 2 hours. When I asked them about restoring the bathroom based on their verbalization they said, "Well wait a minute, that's not in the contract. This is what's here and you are paying us $1,500 for 2 hours worth of work and taking care of your mold and your leak." I said to them, "Look this was really nice and it's really swell that you did the work and you certainly did solve the problem of the leak and took the mold out (if it was any mold there), but I don't think that $1,500 is worth it." They got kind of angry with me and I finally said, "Look, I'm not going to argue with you. I'll pay the bill, but I will never ever give you a referral and besides that there's a big deal going around these days about companies like yours, PRC, taking advantage of elderly people and based on my age and my wife's age we're elderly people. And so they gave me a $250 deduction, really swell, so I paid out $1,250 for something that was maybe worth $500. And then lastly they said well now we would love to come in and redo your bathroom and I thought to myself that this was going to be another $5,000, so I just called my brother who is a licensed contractor and he came down and fixed it. I had no way to tell on the pricing whether it was good or bad or indifferent. I've just learned since then that there are a lot of different companies that take advantage of people because of water and mold problems and they really rake you over the coals. It's not something that's targeted at one particular group that does that and it just seems to be this issue with mold and leaking that's become a license to steal. Yeah they did the work, but when my brother finally came in to fix it and put up the new wallboard he just said to me that there was things that this restoration company did that they didn't have to do. All they did was run dryers, evaporators, and took the moisture out. When they were done it left a hole in the floor where the toilet was, and the toilet had to be replaced, and dried out wood and linoleum. All the work to make it a bathroom again my brother did. I was very dissatisfied with what they did and how they did it. They came out right away as a result of the plumber calling them and when I wanted them to come back it took them 5 days to get back.
Description of Work: They fixed a leak and took care of the mold and moisture in my master bathroom.

I have you've them for 10+- years. They are the best, they do water damage, and do not charge out the roof. No one would be disappointed if they come, they go over the same spot 8-10 times even if it is not spoiled. I had someone come to the house over the weekend, was given a price of $99 over the phone, they got to the house, wanted to charge me $300 for 3 rooms for steam cleaning, and I said no. I give Perez high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.
