Molly Maid of Long Beach/South Bay

I found Molly Maid through an online search for cleaning services in my area (Redondo Beach, CA). It had good reviews on Yelp and it is has been around since 1984 per its website and it promotes superior cleaning (per its website: "Molly Maid has offered superior cleaning services since 1984, and our dedication to exceptional service and clean homes makes us the best choice for maid service in Long Beach/South Bay.") On top of that it charges high prices for cleaning. My cleaning job (a three bedroom condo) cost $530 for two cleaning gals for 3.5 hours. That's about $75/hour per cleaning person! For that price, I thought, they better be "superior" cleaners. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. They were friendly enough, but as I inspected after they would finish an area, I kept finding things not thoroughly cleaned or were totally missed. I pointed them out at first, but I began to realize that they were not going to finish the cleaning in the 3 hours allotted if I kept insisting they better clean each area. And here's the catch, I had moved out of the condo. It was empty and this was the final cleaning before the landlord inspection. There was no time for them to come back another day to complete the cleaning. So I was stuck with just letting them clean to a sub-standard level so that they would finish up, and chalking it up as a bad choice. I know that Molly Maid has a "Neighborly Done Right Promise" that it will fix any areas that a customer feels were not done well enough, but since this was the final cleaning before inspection, I couldn't take advantage of that. I had to spend all evening after they left cleaning to bring the place up to a professional standard for the upcoming inspection. So I paid them $530 and still had to work my butt off cleaning afterwards. After that, I was so busy with the rest of my move that I didn't have time to call the company to complain, but when someone from the company called me a few days later, I expressed my deep dissatisfaction with the service. She offered me $75 off the bill, and I just laughed. I told her the cleaning was worth about $25/hour per cleaning person, and not $75. The whole job was worth maybe $200 maximum to me. So I refused the money and told her that I was going to write a truthful review to warn future potential customers that from my experience the standard of cleaning by Molly Maid is far from professional, and certainly not worth $150 per hour for two cleaners! It appears that Ravi S. in his recent review (1/2/2024) had a similar occurrence, so my bad experience was not just a "one-off". In a nutshell, be forewarned that Molly Maid is an expensive service with undependable cleaning standards.

2 person team, did a deep clean. The man was superb.

I like their service; they have a lot of people working for them and they are good; no complaints.

They did an excellent job. Two young ladies came together to do the work. They cleaned the fridge, washed walls, did the windows, and pretty much everything else. They did a lovely job.

I continue to use them for their professionalism. They are very good and I will continue to use them.

Make sure you check when they say they're done to ensure the job was done thoroughly; sometimes it is not.

We've been using them since first of the year so the experience has been satisfactory. I would continue to use them. I spend 175 dollars every two weeks.

I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY GOOD. THEY DID A PROFESSIONAL JOB. THEY WERE REASONABLE. THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THEY DUSTED. THEY STRAIGHTENED UP. IT WAS NOT A LOT OF WORK. THEY WAXED THE FLOORS AND CLEANED THE FLOORS.

THEY'RE GOOD FOR ALL OF THINGS, THEY ARE AVERAGE ON THEIR PRICE. THEY ARE PUNCTUAL. WE ARE GOING TO KEEP THEM FOR A WHILE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR A WHILE, BUT I WOULD KEEP USING THEM. THEY DO AN OKAY JOB. IT'S HARD TO FIND GOOD, TRUSTWORTHY HOUSEKEEPERS SO WHEN YOU FIND ONE, YOU HANG ONTO THEM.

THIS IS NOT A COMPANY I WOULD RECOMMEND, BUT I WOULDN'T GIVE THEM A BAD OPINION EITHER. I FELT LIKE THEY DID NOT DO WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE. I DIDN'T FEEL THE FRESHNESS YOU SHOULD FEEL WHEN CLEANING PEOPLE COME. I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT WAS WORTH THE $60 I PAID.

IT WAS POSITIVE. I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE. IT WAS A ONE TIME THING FOR MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY. IT WAS NOT EXTRAORDINARY, BUT IT WAS A GOOD JOB. NO ONE WAS HOME WHEN THEY DID THE SERVICE. THEY ARE TRUSTWORTHY TO BE ALONE WHILE DOING THE JOB.

I WILL HAVE THEM COME AGAIN. THAT'S HOW GOOD THEY WERE. I WENT BEHIND AND LOOKED AT EVERYTHING, AND EVERYTHING WAS SPOTLESS. THEY BROUGHT THEIR OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES.

THIS COMPANY DID A FAIR JOB. THE ONLY THING I DIDNT LIKE ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE CLEANING SUPPLIES, OTHER THAN THAT THEY DO AN OKAY JOB. BUT THERE IS A FEW THINGS THEY MISSED.

SERVICE WAS GREAT. A TEAM OF THREE LADIES CAME IN. THEY CLEANED THE WINDOWS, WALLS, FLOORS, STOVE, TOILETS, VACUUMED, ETC. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. THE LADIES WERE HARD WORKERS. THEY KNEW THEIR JOB. WENT TO WORK AND DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB. I ENJOYED NOT HAVING TO DO THE WORK MYSELF. THANKS
