John Stevenson Plumbing, Heating & Air

Our heater was making a lot of noise in the upstairs unit. We have one on each floor. When the technician from John Stevenson Plumbing Heating & Air came and checked the units he told us they both needed a lot of work and the cost would be $2800 to repair. He put in his notes that he recommended replacing both units for a cost of $6900. He also said the downstairs unit was dangerous and should be shut off. We told him we would have to think about what we wanted to do & would call when we made a decision. We called another contractor for a second opinion and estimate, Bill Howe Plumbing & Heating. The technician assured us our heaters were safe and the only thing needed was a capacitor for the upstairs unit. He said we should still have a few years before replacement was needed. He took care of the capacitor replacement and our bill came to $216.00. John Stevenson Plumbing Heating and Air was trying to upsell their services and do repairs that were not needed. I would not recommend them! I would however recommend Bill Howe Plumbing & Heating.

Our side yard drainage pipe was clogged and water was backing up during the recent heavy rains. I got an appointment with them on Saturday and they canceled 3 hours later; I then rescheduled for Monday and emphasized that it is very important to me to get it done (damage to pool) and they promised that they are gonna be there 100% on Monday. Monday morning and they call and cancel saying that “it is out of their control” which is an absolute bs excuse.

I called the service provider and he said that the leak is from my cat. He didn't charge me, he did a lot of things to check if the leak is from toilet, he spend lots of time to check the leakage and he did an excellent job.

They claim to have warranty on their work and never follow through with their warranties. They claimed that the recirculation system would work and they never got it to work properly. We had someone else come in and they had to replace the whole unit. They can work on their customer service and obligations.

The estimate was done quickly and the work commenced the next day. For us it was an emergency not only being without water in the house, but we were leaving for a trip 3 days later. They had workers at our house each day until the job was finished. I now can rest knowing that this new water line will likely last my lifetime and beyond. Great Job and Thank you for your dedication and hard work.

They were prompt, they were courteous and the work was really high quality again I don't really think there was anything I would have driven home with the service it's just the cost.

They were great, and they did an excellent job with the service. The price was fair as well. They showed up on time. We had no issues with them during the project or since the project was completed.

Robert came to our house because one of our tankless water heaters had an error code. He claimed that it was plumbed incorrectly. We later found out that it was plumbed according to the specifications in the manual for residences. He stated they had a year satisfaction guarantee. After he left, the recirculation system no longer worked. Called Stevenson up and he came back. Insisted there was nothing wrong. We purchased a thermocouple and recorder and verified that is was taking over 45s for the water to get hot. Previously, it was almost instantaneous. Called Stevenson. They sent another plumber who agreed that the recirc was not working. Said it was because the pump had died. Robert came back to install the pump, but said it was working. He had no explanation for why the recirc system was not working. Another plumber came and said he had installed the recirculation pump backwards. Stevenson refused to come out and fix and was extremely rude. They are expensive and a waste of money.

He didn't come out with models or a catalog so that I could choose what I wanted. I gave him a description but the one he came out with wasn't anything like what I had described. I let him install it but I didn't like it. He came back to replace it but again didn't bring what I had described! I wanted a goose neck faucet but he didn't bring that.

Mark was the plumber that answered my service call request. He did very good work. I was given a window for his arrival time from 11:00 to 1:00, and made a call at 12:45 to ask if a plumber was coming. The dispatcher was very cordial and informed me that she tracked him about three exits away on the freeway and that he would be at my place in 5 minutes. True she was! He gave me an estimate, and after the go ahead laid down a protective mat on my floor and performed the necessary work. He discovered I had roots in my water line and cleared it enough where I could use my kitchen sink and dish washer again. He corrected the piping under the sink to allow future line snaking. Work was meticulous and the area kept clean of any water spills or debris. Mark was quite informative and explained what he had done and encountered. He explained that he could not warrantee his work because of discovering roots in the water line. Not to worry though, I discovered my HOA will cover the rest of the work. The next day, the company called and asked if there was any follow up assistance that could be provided. I would use them again if my HOA preferred plumber is not necessary.

The technician arrived early and completed everything satisfactorily

I called them once and they still haven't come in though. I called them three weeks ago and I said, "I need to have that young man come out and see what's the matter with my husband's plunger and stopper." I cannot get it to and I've done what he told me to do which is turn the label towards yourself but it still doesn't work. I paid them plenty of money but maybe I can spray some oil in there and rub it in but I shouldn't have to do that. The experience was fine. It was okay. I wouldn't recommend them. I thought at first that it was great but I think they owe me a call back. They haven't and maybe they think I'm not interested. I'll call them again and see if they come out again and fix these two items. The yound man came when he said he would and he was prompt although I waited one hour and I said, "You should've had your office call me and tell me you would be late." He was very pleasant and knowledgeable but he mumbles and I only hear out of one ear and I told him that several times but he continued to mumble so I had difficulty. If he'd just slowed down and say the words, I'm fine. The price was right because it was top of the line thing so they have no control over that. The quality of the work was fine except for those two incidents.

He wanted $39 just to come look at it.

I used the company that called first, but this one would have been a good choice as well. They expressed concern and said if things didn't work out, please consider them again in the future. I certainly will.

I have used them for the last few years and always find them to be prompt and courteous. I think they charge a fair price and make sure things are working correctly.

Great. This is the third or fourth time I have used them. They have shown up on time, every time, clean, polite, and they don't leave a mess behind for me to clean up.

This was my second time using John Steveson, the first time was great. However, I could not even get a call back from them this time. I called three times (the fisrt time at 9 am, the second at 1 pm, and the third at 5 pm). The company did not respond to any of the three calls. I have a one year old and the heater is not working. I will not be giving them any future service.

Called as an emergency on holiday. Plumber was prompt, friendly, cleaned up and got the job done.

Did good work,as far as the installation.They took longer to finish by two days than had projected, and an additional $400.00. Also left a hole in the drywall in the closet ceiling, which they said they weren't able to patch.

When I called to book the appointment, the dispatcher was friendly and helpful and told me what the charge would be for a service call. Victor was 1 hour and 45 minutes late and I was never contacted by the company. I had to call twice to check on his arrival time. He was polite, frank, and helpful.

Serviceman (Bill) was very professional, prompt and helpful.
