$2,500
48 year old house is in the Crest area of El Cajon. Even after pumping sludge from the septic tank, the fluid was not draining through the leach lines but was overflowing into the yard in front of the house. Called Ernie at San Diego Septic. He sent James out that afternoon. James did extensive testing by probing for leach lines throughout the back yard with a water pipe to determine location of blockage and leach line viability. His determination was that there must be a clogged line leading from the septic tank to the leach field, also that 2 of the leach lines were semi-clogged and not draining so well. Spoke with Ernie who quoted me $2500 to repair the clogged pipe and add an overflow bypass from it to the one working leach line. Also they would add a cleanout for adding root killer to the leach lines.

I agreed to the bid estimate. James and another worker had the job done by the time I came home from work the next day. The yard looked immaculate and the backfill soil was perfectly graded. They showed me the old pipe that was crushed and filled with roots which was the main reason the septic tank was not draining. They drew a map showing where the leach lines were and gave me instructions on how to care for the lines.

I was very impressed with James' expertise and professionalism when he came out to troubleshoot the problem. Even though it was after 5PM he kept at it until he was sure where the blockage was. He turned out to be correct. He was very informative in explaining how the system is supposed to work and how it should be installed according to code.

Their repair saved me thousands of dollars of having the whole system replaced. They knew what they were doing, got the job done within a day and it works perfectly now. Very glad that I called San Diego Septic Systems and will call them again if necessary.
