I was very impressed and thankful for their quick and responsive service.  I needed my attic cleaned on rather short notice because of my schedule and other work being performed.  They were the first to get back to me to schedule an estimate, they scheduled the quickest estimate and got me my first quote. Heck, they were even able to schedule the work before others were even wanted to schedule the estimate.

Their quote was the lowest of the three I had.  Their crew was very professional and worked through some unbearable heat.  I couldn't believe how clean my attic looked afterwards.  There was lots of shingles and debris.

On a side note I have to make a special request to workers to pull in backwards because of my driveway.  Almost all ignore my request but despite being in a more nimble Prius, their estimator complied. The crew did as well.

The staff was very professional and flexible.  We changed our mind about the extent and timing of the job at the last minute and Bay Area Rodent Solutions was very flexible, working with us to meet our schedule.  They were prompt, explaining what they were doing and why.
We wish they also did the actual trapping of the rodents.  We have had a continued battle with rodents. The rodents have avoided all traps set by us.  Peanut butter doesn't work, cheese doesn't work, dog food doesn't work, bacon doesn't work.  The wily critter just avoids the traps. Just when we think we've starved the critters and they've all expired, we put the storage containers back into the garage and inadvertently feed the devils.  They chew right through the plastic containers, poke holes in the soda containers.
We did not call out professional rodent exterminators thinking we could, using the advice from Bay Area Rodent Solutions, trap the devils ourselves. Our bad.  Just wish Bay Area Rodent Solutions also trapped the critters so that it would be a one stop shop.  we're very glad that we didn't have the sanitation portion of the job performed since the rodents lived in the attic way longer than anticipated.  We would have had to have the sanitation part done twice if we had followed the first timing suggestion.

Crew arrived promptly, worked two long, dusty, noisy days; came up with innovative solutions for a variety of unique problems associated with sealing off future entryways for rodents.
The work was done promptly and accurately and professionally, and we were entirely satisfied with it.
We did not do any comparison-shopping, so we have no way of knowing how competitive the price was.  It was certainly expensive, but we have no regrets and are entirely satsfied.
Since the work, the house has been rodent-free for the first time in over 100 years.

While they were working in the attic, we lost our lights.  After complaining about it, they showed me the loose connection in the junction box but they would not touch it.  After they left I fixed it myself.
After they left, the lights in our master bath and the sockets in our master bath were dead.  Also our phone lines were dead too!
I called them back and they took a look but could not find anything and insisted they did not cause any of these electrical problems.  Anyway, I paid everything except for $1000 just in case.
I called an electrician and they fixed everything.  Just a lot of loose wires in junction boxes.  I'm sure all the workers going in and out of the attic space caused the problem, but the root cause was the loose connections.  Therefore I paid the remaining $1000.
Otherwise a good job.

The reviews for this place were great.  I really wanted to deal with a company that dealt primarily with rodents...not just an exterminator that "also" did rodent work.  Bingo...one search on Angies List and Bam!  Bay Area Rodent Solutions.  Sounded great to me.  First I went to the web site and submitted a quote request through their web form.  One week later...I did not hear anything from them.  By that time the rats in my house were really getting to me and my family.  I decided to call them directly.  I reached a lady and I explained my problem and that I needed to get a quote and evaluation for my issue with the rats.  When I told her that I lived in Castro Valley she told me that was outside of their service area and that it would cost $150 (like another reviewer mentioned).  I was floored.  With a name like "Bay Area Rodent Solutions" I would figure that the "Bay Area" would in fact be right in their service area.  I could not bring myself to move forward with them.
I ended up going with another exterminator company that happened to deal with rodents.  I am not 100% satisfied with their work, but it seems to have worked (all that in another review).

They did a good job. I thought that the guy was pretty good. This kind of thing is hard to know unless you can find a new entryway and I haven't. They were very responsive. I would recommend them. I've got a guarantee on this one. If there's any more problem, they come back for free.

We were very satisfied with the work and the workers.  On Thursday at 5pm I called the office in a panic
over a long-lasting dead rat smell in our kitchen due to our use of D-Con.  My elderly parents were arriving for
the Thanksgiving week as well numerous relatives throughout the holiday.  Debbie arranged to send
someone on Friday to make a proposal and by Monday morning work was underway.  During the vacuuming of the
attic, the workers sealed off the work area to prevent dust from spreading throughout the house.  The team covered
our hardwood floors as well.  Julio, the team leader, carefully explained what they would be doing and arranged
his work to cause us the least inconvenience.  The team did a great job cleaning up both outside and inside.
I was especially grateful for the quick response just before the holidays.

I was disappointed with it. From the reviews that I read everybody said they cleaned the attic and closed up the holes and then when I talked to him on the phone he said, "Oh! Yeah we clean the attic. We do this and we do that" and I wrote it down that they close up the holes. They cleaned up everything. I mean they stayed there like four hours cleaning up. They did a good job probably taking it out. But I said, "Okay, so when are you coming back to clean the holes?" and they said, "Oh! No that's not included. That's extra" So they got you because you have to pay extra if you wanted them to come back. They came back and gave me an estimate and quoted me $1400 on top of the $2000. The guy said it's like insurance because they guarantee that you're not going to get any of them coming back in two years and if they do you can call somebody. Another problem is that a couple of people have said that there was still some poop up there. When I called them back and asked them when they gave me the estimate for closing the holes they said that they worked hard. I know that they worked hard doing what they had to do but they said they can't get everything out. Some of the reviews said, "Oh! They took everything. Everything is wonderful" and they said, "No, we can't get to the corners" So anyway, I'm unhappy about that whole experience. I'm glad it's clean. I don't mind paying somebody; it is a terrible job. I have to either get somebody to get up there to spray some Clorox or something because I can still smell something like the old attic smell. I think the price was a little high.

Bryan call ahead to let me know he was coming earlier than expected, that for me was the first sign of good quality service. He inspected the attic and was very honest about what needed to be done, second sign of great customer service. Bryant was also very knowledgeable of pest control and took the time to teach me how to control the problem from becoming worse.
I will use Bay Area Rodent solutions for my future pest control, they definitely have me as a loyal customer.

Bay Area Rodent Solutions did a great job with helping me fix the rat problem we had at our new house.  I didn't realize how bad the situation was, but they did a great job in cleaning everything up and closing up all the potential issues.  Everyone I dealt with was very courteous and professional.  They even ran into a problem where there were yellowjackets and carpenter ants in the attic, hidden under the insulation, and they were attacked by them.  They had to stop work, obviously, while I got another exterminator in to kill the wasps and ants, but they were always very professional about it.  When they returned, they finished up the job quickly, and I have been very satisfied by the job.

We live in a 3 bd, 2 ba house and we decided to sell after living in the house for 49 years and move to a Continuing Care Retirment Center (CCRC) in Arizona. We're on our third shake roof and when the roof is open the roof rats in our wooded neighborhood make our attic their new home and pooping ground. We've used a shop vac to clean up up but we could never get all of it up as it was in the fiberglass insulation bats. We didn't want to sell the house this say so we called Bay area Rodent Solutions after seeing them on Angie's List. The owner Stanley Bapu was at our house to give an estimate the same day we called! A man crew showed up two days later and began the work. The job was a little bigger than estimated so they had to come back a second day to finish up and what an incredible job they did. They were neat, clean, and did an absolutely excellent job. They spread plastic on our carpets, etc. so they didn't track anything through the house. It is a rare event that you have this level of quality workmanship. What a company........I hope we never have rat poop again (we won't at the CCRC) but if we did we'd only make one call to Bay Area Rodent Solutions.  They have our highest rating on all aspects!!!

They called to see if they could come earlier than the scheduled appointment and given the foul odor emanating from our basement, we were happy to oblige.  They were very professional, thorough, and neat/tidy.  We would use them again.  Thanks to Angies List this unpleasant situation was resolved very quickly.

.Stanley, the estimator, was punctual, very knowledgeable, courteous and thorough in his inspection of our house. He confirmed we had rats entering, primarily the crawl space through foundation screens damaged by penetration of pipes and Comcast cables, and also a loose fitting crawl space door. He also pointed out entrances under a side garage door, and the possibly through the sides of the overhead garage door. He pointed out a large number of screens under the eves were either damaged or missing; he inspected the attic and confirmed bird entry through the damaged screens. He recommended: replacing all of the screens under the eves with heavy duty types, since most were damaged and the remainder very fragile (original screens in use for 44 years);he also said the foundation screens should be repaired or replaced; cement placed around the sink clean out pipe; build a new crawl space door:attach a metal extender to the side door; and seal  the sides of the overhead door.
On the schedule day, Bay Area Rodent Solutions repair men Brian, assisted by Julio, called ahead and showed up at the appointed time. We did a quick walk around to inspect and discuss the areas to be repaired. They went to work and indicated the job was finished about 3 hours later. After doing a walk around inspection a number of issues with the repair were apparent. 1) Only the damaged eve screens were replaced, Bryan tried to convince me it wasn't necessary to do the others- even though their inspector (Stanley) had strongly recommended it, and the billing included replacement to all eve screens.2) The crawl space door was trimmed and a barrel bolt installed, as opposed to building a new crawl space door called for in the contract. Brian explained and showed to me that putting hinges on the existing door was not feasible (would not operate properly and couldn't attach the hinges to the stucco wall. Although the door provided a good seal, it could not be removed easily the way it was installed; so we compromised by Bryan attaching a heavy pull handle to aid in removal. 3) There was still some space along the lower edge of the side garage door; Bryan used some additional cement to fill the gap. 4) The sides of the overhead door were not redone as per the contract; Bryan didn't think it was necessary, and at my insistence tried a few ways to seal the gaps. Finally he used some heavy weather stripping intended for the door's bottom, but used along the sides.
I think that the job was performed to my satisfaction, but only after some friendly persuasion. Bryan was agreeable to doing the contracted work, but only after the shortcomings were pointed out. In Bryan's favor however, he was always courteous and tried to do the right thing.

They came back a little over a year to close some new openings the rats had got in. The team that arrived was not informed on what needed to be done. The office and landlord worked out the details. They did not cover the clothes in the closet  when they went into the attic . They cleaned up the top shelf but took no responsibility for cleaning the clothes. When we reported it to the office they said the foreman asked us & we declined to have the clothes covered. We did not and then they lied about us saying we did. What person in there right mind would allow a ladder on top of there dress clothes and tools & trash over our clothes. Plus dragged rat s*** over them. It's not what goes wrong on a project that bothers me it how they solve the problem that makes the difference.  This company has poor communication problems & hires idiots to work for them. I am the renter and did not pay for this project but the crew still tried to collect the bill for work done from me at the end until I called my landlord and straighten that part out also. My landlord got the project started in the morning and then left with all the instructions of payment and also found out that they promised to cover the clothes but did not & lied to boot. The previous work done the year before was done by better crew but this one was a disaster. This is why there is Angies List hopefully they get rid of this crew & the companies that don't train there staff before sending them to peoples homes.
P.S I also took photos for verification to verify what happened

The owner, Stanley Bapu, came out to inspect our new home and we showed him where we had seen a rat come into the house (a badly patched air vent). He walked around with us, pointing out all of the places where rodents could get in, some currently in use by the beasties, some not. He inspected the attic, then showed us a large hole in the back wall that was not visible from the outside as it was covered by metal shielding from the air conditioning.
We asked him to set traps and seal all the places that critters could enter, including a side door on the garage that gapped with the ground by about 1 foot. His crew came out within a couple of days from our first contact and they performed all of the work in a single day. They left no mess and did really professional work on everything. The workmen will return to inspect and remove traps, plus the rodent specialist said we were to call immediately if there was any indication of signs of unwanted guests again.
There was one small detail that was overlooked; the carpenter was new to  the company, so he didn't realize he should have replaced the molding inside the garage door as well as outside. When I discovered the oversight, I sent an email to the office. They called me immediately and asked if they could send out someone within the next hour to fix the problem. They did so and it looks great! . We are completely delighted with the service and the professionalism of all of the crew.

The rodent tech walked all around the house with me looking for signs of mice and any openings where they might get in.  He then went up in the attic to check there for signs of mice.  He was a goldmine of information about the habits of rodents and told many stories that made me think the rodents will be here long after people are gone.  We followed all of his suggestions and are now rodent free.
