We obtained several quotes from different companies. We have not made the choice of which company to used, and one morning they just came and knocked on our door unannounced as if we've committed to using them. But, since we've used them before in the past (and the experience last time was good), we decided to proceed since they claimed the storm was coming in two days (never did, not even according to weather report that we checked at that time). We think this is very inappropriate way of doing business, but we took the chance because we were repeat customer. Because of this unannounced visit, we we're not able to arrange with neighbor to have access to trim some trees on the neighbor's property. I'm also not able to be at home to supervise what has been agreed to be cut. As a result, some trees/branches were not trimmed properly due to access and confusion about which trees/branches. Long story, Bill the owner came and collected the check. But pledged to make the work right by coming back to fix the work for a nominal $100, which we agreed. From here on it's been promises after promises. After about 2 weeks scheduling, they did not show up and only after a call to his office, he called us back and said that he couldn't come that day and said that he will call the day after at 7:15am. He never called back. Businesses make mistakes all the time, it's what they do to retrofit and make it right is what makes a difference between reliable businesses and not.

After walking the yard with me to get the work list, he said he would have me an estimate by phone that day.  No call, so I called him twice over the next few days... left messages both times.  No response at all.

This is the first time I've drawn a zero response from an Angie's List vendor.

He trimmed the dead branches and those branches that were hanging over the roof and neighbors drive way. He also gave some shape to the tree. The crew cleaned up and you wouldn't have known they were there. I would reccommend Bill's service.

We had a very good experience. They came early, and finished the job by late afternoon as promised. They removed all debris and left our area very clean. Plus, the price was almost half the amount of two other estimates.

Called Pennisula tree.
Bill, came out promptly and gave me a quote on 15 ft Holly tree removal, slight
tree trim and juniper bush and root removal. I thought his bid was fairly reasonable and I wanted to have him do the job. I called him a few days
later to discuss the job. I was also going to ask if he would give a discount if I did all 3 jobs at
once. Left a message just to call me.... No response. A few days later, called again and
spoke to his assistant. There was some confusion on the quote sheet.
I thought it said $100 to remove hedge and $200 to remove hedge
and root. She said they would get back with an answer. 4 days later,
still hadn't heard from them, so called I again. Assistant said it is $300 to
remove hedge and roots. I said ok, but can you give a discount to that
price if I do all three jobs at once. She said they would get back.
4-5 days later still NO response. Not wanting to start the process
over, I gave another call and asked if he was that busy or just didn't
want the job. She said, and quot;oh, no, we would love to work with youand quot; and
handed the phone to Bill. I started to confirm the details of the job with him
and he interrupted to say can I call you back. I said fine, call me in
an hour. Never heard from them again. I must have tried 6 or 7 times but never got any response.
So I never got to discuss the job or actually ask Bill directly for a discount if I did all 3 jobs. He just blew me off. If he didn't want to do the job at a slight discount, I actually would have just given him the price he asked for., but he should have told me that himself. He did not handle this professionally. I called, got a quote from another tree company who offered a discount up front if I did all 3 jobs.. They got the job, showed up and did a great job.!! I now have a new company that wound up being cheaper than Pennisula.
So, I can't recommend Bill. Hope your experience isn't as bad as mine....You might be left hanging.

It went very well. I am very pleased.

I was glad that I stayed home from work. That helped them cut enough and just enough.

They didn't harm any other plants and they cleaned up well.

I waited too long since the last tree-triming. I should call them every year or two. I just put a reminder on my calendar.

The price was right. It was less than I expected.

They are very good. My experience went very well. They ended up doing more than what they were called out to do. Normally they come out and look at what I want done giving an estimate. When they got here I asked them to cut a few more smaller tress and they didn't charge me for it. The clean up is great. They are very reasonable. I always get more than one estimate and they are below everybody so I continue to use them.

They are very reasonably priced and they do great work! I am very impressed with how much insurance they carry. While they were climbing very large trees, I felt safe that they were insured.

THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY HAD TO COME BACK AND ARRANGED IT TO MY SATISFACTION. THE WEATHER ALSO CHANGED AND THEY WORKED AROUND THAT.
