The fridge was not cooling properly and they came out under the extended warranty plan. Service man was gruff and curt, and would not answer questions about what was wrong or how long it would take to repair. He said he didn't have the part and would have to come out again in a week when it arrived. At that point, he replaced the main logic board and said it would be fully cold in 24-48 hours. The repair didn't work and we called him back after 2 days to come out and fix it again. He took another week to come out and assess the problem, and diagnosed it with the exact same part. Which took another week to arrive. And another week to install. And it didn't work either. Then another week for him to come out again. This time it was compressor and another week to order. Then another week to install and fix. In total it was nearly 2 months with no freezer and a partially running fridge. The repair man had limited english, and the words he did know did not include anything pleasant or polite. He was guessing at what the problem was and our fridge broke again after their 90 day warranty. Our warranty period is up and I will not use this company again.
Description of Work: come to repair fridge. In total, he came 4 times trying to fix the fridge. Eventually he fixed it, but it broken 10 days after the 90 day warranty on parts.

The service person who arrived was quite brusque. While he performed his job efficiently, the part didn't last beyond two weeks when it blew again. The assertion on the second visit was that, the dryer vent was at fault. We had Sears come over and verify the vent was clean. Despite that Electric Express Appliance did not offer to replace the short-lived part for free, but wanted us to spend an additional 250$ to replace the part a second time. At that point, I did not see it worth pursuing. The concept of mean time to failure for a part seemed new. They were unable to provide any performance data for the thermal fuse when it was replaced the first time. They also seemed incapable of diagnosing if any other factors might have caused the thermal fuse to blow.
Description of Work: 1. Review a LG dryer that failed to heat. 2. Diagnosis 3. Part procurement and replacement. 4. Verification that appliance was functional.

Description of Work: We have used this company for over four or more years, fixed our Uline small ice maker, twice, as one waselectrical, and one was a mechanical problem. He did not charge the second visit after he visited ashe had to order a part. We could see the obvious crack from the water leaking. We have had trouble with our large Viking since the very beginning. I have had Viking here under warranty,and when out of warranty, asked him to fix it. He replaced a part that Viking had quoted me a higher price,and the labor without warranty was twice what he charged me---and he fixed it, too. The icemaker froze over, and called him today to come and fix it. We have a lemon, and I trusthim to arrive and take care of it at a very reasonable price. They are an honest outfit. Theyare small and if the lady who answers the telephone is difficult to understand due to heraccent, sorry, but let me tell you, she also knows what she is doing and always explainsthe price for coming out. When you find an honest repair man who is reasonable in his prices, don't let him go---just like Gene.

Overpriced minor repair with an attitude. Charged for service call $95 and then $99 for labor (full hour?)--the guy was in and out within 15 minutes, even time enough for a personal call. When I asked if he had recovered the screw that must of fallen into the inside of the dryer drum, the one that was holding the baffle, he gives me attitude, telling me that he wasn't responsible for the screw (I had mentioned it when he started the job). Required a 4 hour window. (feel free to skip past this--I'm just documenting) Of course, i wanted to get this done as soon as possible. The first day they could do, I had a meeting at 12 and knew that I would need to be out of the house by 11:45. I was given an 8am-12noon window...I repeated that I needed the repairman here and finished by 11:45...could we try to make it on the earlier side of this window. At 11:35, having heard nothing from anyone, I sent an email to reschedule. I got a call 5 minutes later while I was driving away, saying the repairman could be there in 10...when I got home there was sticker on my dooring claiming the repairman had arrived at 11:40 (impossible), but even coming at 11:50, what for? just to say they came within the window. The next day, we rescheduled for 2-6pm. I went to work with plans of coming home at 2. At 12:35, I get a call from the repairman telling me he is ready to fix the machine. I tell him that I'm at work and I won't be home until 2...fine he says. At 1:40, while I'm driving home, I get another call from him asking me if I home yet...I tell him again that I will be there by 2, that it's a 2-6pm window. He claims that's why he is calling, (What?) Anyway, they seemed to struggle to hit their 4 hour window coming or going--Basically, you're making yourself available at their convenience not the other way around. If you are going to charge that much, you better make customer service a little better.
Description of Work: Replaced a baffle that had come loose on the inside of a commercial dryer. I helped them identify the part so that they could order it before they arrived.

Person who answers the phone cannot be understood. Talks too fast, too softly, and abruptly. Took three weeks to order parts so didn't have a frig for 3 weeks. Repair person was 1 1/2 hours late; when I called, he was "eating his lunch." Was on his cell phone most of the time he was doing the repair. Left the motor here for me to "throw in the trash." (Motor has to be disposed of properly and cannot go in the trash.) Did not leave a receipt. Probably the repair was done ok, but the professionalism was outrageously bad. I do not reccomend them. I nominate this company as a charter member of the knucklehead patrol.
Description of Work: My 1 yr. old Fisher Paykel refrigerator stopped keeping food cold. Upon recommendation from the manufacturer, I called Electric Express Appliance. The repair person came out and said I need a new compressor, motor, etc. He would order the parts and they would be her in 3-10 days. Three weeks later, they called to say the parts were in and arranged to have the service person come out to install.

They worked very fast. They are reliable and knowledgeable. They are cheaper than previous companies I've hired to do similar work. I would definitely hire them again.

SAME REPAIRMAN SHOWED UP FOR HOUSECALL--ASSUME LOW TURNOVER. REPAIRMAN IS A RUSSIAN IMMIGRANT TRAINED IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, SO CAN PROBABLY DO ALL SORTS OF REPAIRS. ELECTRIC EXPRESS APPLIANCE IS CIRCUIT CITY'S LOCAL REPAIR PERSON BUT ANYONE MAY CALL THEM. VERY RESPONSIVE.
