So, these guys are amazing. This is gonna be kind of long so here's the short vereion. Fast quote, quality work and amazing speed. Their team arrived day 1 of a full repipe job including the main and the water was back on for the whole house by 6pm. This blew my mind. Up here in Lake Arrowhead, plumbers and tradesman in general were so backed up with work we were getting quotes to start 3 weeks out after a major leak into the foundation of our 1960s three story craftsman necessitated a full repipe of all the original galvanized piping. A day after I called, Toby drove out and laid out a plan for replacing everything with PEX (the good stuff too, Uponor with compression fittings), including digging out my original and heavily corroded main water line and replacing with a thick copper pipe. Even before the Military discount and the Yelp special they had going on, the quote for this came in very competitive. A few days after the original survey, Alfonso and his team roll in and somehow have the entire houses plumbing completely replaced with fully insulated PEX by 6pm. Even the main line was somehow replaced day 1, with the digging 30' down through my concrete driveway and everything. It was amazing to see. They even added a few extra outdoor hose bibs and a area for a future kitchenette and fridge ice maker line etc which were last minute add-ons. 10/10. Did I mention they insulated **** near every inch of that piping with half inch insulation? I am not worried about pipes bursting at all now. Other then the holes in the drywall and the cut out driveway sections.. by the end of the day you couldn't even tell they had been there in other sections due to how well they had plasticed everything off. After the work passed inspection by the county, the repair guys did a phenomenal job repairing the drywall in all 3 floors and matching the various texture well. They left it primed and super easy for us to paint, at our request (good excuse to change colors). The driveway took a bit longer to get finished due to inspector availability (I did mention how busy up here everyone seems to be), but once it passed they did a great job redoing the drive and it's been solid for weeks now through even the first freezing temps of the season. We went from only being able to use one shower at s time to being able to run every single faucet and shower simultaneously without pressure drop. If you're thinking of a repipe or need it like we did.. call these guys they are fantastic!

All the crews were great - friendly, responsive, and respectful! Passed the city inspection with no issues. We had a big, unexpected complication on our job but Ameri-Cal went out of their way to make sure that the job was completed to our satisfaction. They are honest, hard-working people that stand behind their word and work. We highly recommend them and would use them again.
Description of Work: We hired Ameri-Cal to do a full house re-pipe because a friend told us that they were excellent and did the job in 3-days! Day 1, cut holes and re-pipe, Day 2 inspection, Day 3 drywall. No need to move out of the house, water is only down on Day 1 but is turned back on when they leave at the end of the day.

I've been happy with them. The manager's name is Toby. They were recommended to me by my brother-in-law. He's used them twice. And this neighborhood in Aliso Viejo has had so much re-piping. They just do rows and rows of homes. I had a house re-piped last year and they did a good job. I had one re-piped this year. And, when I have another tenant move out, I'm going to have that house re-piped too. We have a bunch of rental homes and they came to two of my Aliso Viejo homes. They re-pipe and patch and they charge $6100 for a three bedroom. It's a smaller house: just under 1600 square feet. I didn't have that much interface. There's very few companies that... everybody has some faults, of course, nobody is perfect, but this is as good as I think it gets. They send different guys. The main day, I think they sent 3, then the follow up days, either one or two. It depends on when you get passed by the city, but the work itself is about three days. Less than: two or three days, but you have to wait one day for the inspector to come. If they want something done, they have to do that. They can do it while people are living there too. It doesn't have to be an empty house.
Description of Work: I re-plumbed two of my houses; re-piped the whole thing.

Having had mixed experiences with contractors in the past, the idea of repiping my house had me very worried. After getting quotes from 6 companies, I decided to move forward with Americal. Their rep, Paul came across far less as a sales person than a former foreman who sized up what needed to be done, and pretty much just wanted to negotiate a reasonable deal. I asked him some hard questions about his company, and its history, and he was transparent and honest about everything. I was comfortable enough to move forward. I don’t want to bad mouth some of their competition, but you really need to talk with several companies to see the staggering differences. I had reps not call nor show up (the owner of one company), I had one quote me double the rate of the others, I had one do nothing but brag about aspects of their company I couldn’t care less about. They match anyone’s price, but the criteria is asinine, making that offer useless. I had another claim I needed another $2k in work which I did not. So I very much compared and vetted AmeriCal. I think in some conversations AmeriCal may have paid the price for paranoia caused by previous contractors, but each step of the way their guys delivered. Toby was a pleasure to work with. On the first day, everyone showed up on time. They were extremely respectful, professional and worked incredibly hard. They repiped the whole place in a single, day, tested, water on. There was a large hiccup due to a failure at the water meter causes by the local water districts equipment. The crew foreman went above and beyond his responsibilities to help the water districts guys repair the issue. Any issues, he was on it. The second crew, the guys who did the patching were able to finish everything but a hole in the stucco in one day. They came back, working around my schedule to finish that last bit. Things to expect. The guys cover everything in plastic. They spend a lot of time in prep to make sure not to damage anything. It looks like a scene from Dexter, or some virus movie. But you will get some of the compound they use for texturing appearing in odd places. I think I found some on the fridge. It comes right off like powder, don’t get alarmed. And I think it is unrealistic to imagine you won’t find it on a counter or at least in one place. These guys drive from LA or further. I provided lunch, as a courtesy for both crews. They were my guests. And I’m glad I did. Their work ethic is intense. I wish I remembered the names of the guys on the crews, as they really deserve personal recognition. I remember Fernando on the patching crew, who was an absolute pleasure. All in all, repiping is a scary process to even think about. AmeriCal, and their crews made it a very painless experience, and I’m very grateful for their work.

We recently had another slab leak; luckily, nothing was damaged inside the house. I first called Ameri-Cal Repipe for an estimate over phone. Paul was the one who assisted me. He gave me a rough figure and came out the same day to give me the written estimate. Their price is very competitive, and most importantly there are no hidden charges like the other companies that are trying to play the bait-n-switch game. Alex and his crew (total 7 people) came and walked through the house to let us know about the whole repipe plan. Then they covered up everything well so my furniture and flooring will not get dirty. They also change the fixtures and faucets for us so now we have brand new ones. They are very professional and courteous. They are very efficient and knowledgeable about what they are supposed to do. The whole house repiping took a whole day. The crew even stayed late to make sure everything went as planned. They installed brand new fixtures and faucets for your showers and bath. Also brand new main water pressure and shut-off values and water heater pressure value were installed. I love my new plumbing with pex pipes and enjoy all the new fixtures and values they installed. Thanks Alex and the team. You deserve a five star. Also most importantly, I don?t have to worry about any slab leak in the future. Inspection and drywall patching and texturing were done as scheduled. Paul did a wonderful job coordinating everything. He went above and beyond to meet our needs every step of the way. I never expect any contractors would stand behind their promises. Bust Paul kept all his promises and made sure everything was done right. We are very happy that we picked this company to repipe our house. The other companies were not honest at all from the get-go. If you are looking to repipe your house, Ameri-Cal repipe and plumbing is the choice because they are honest, have the highest quality of work, and have the most competitive price. Based on my experience, I would recommend them to my neighbors and friends over other repipe companies out there.

Unlike the other reviews, my experience with Ameri-Cal has been nothing short of a frustrating, miserable nightmare. I chose the lowest of 3 bids. My bad. Re-piping is a large construction project. A crew of 6 did re-pipe in one day. But I was not prepared for the dirt, dust, and ruble left after the clean-up, or the mess left in my driveway and backyard, which included 1/2 dz box cutter used blades in the driveway, and used saw blades in the backyard. I was distracted by the 52 holes in my walls and ceilings. The city inspector said he had never seen anything like it. One hole outside the house in my stucco was 5ft long and 3 ft wide. I didn't notice all of the ruble in the landscaping but I did notice the insulation falling out of the holes inside the house. My kitchen alone had 14 holes. I was told that I could use the plumbing that evening, but I didn't think to check or look at the fixtures, assuming that was part of a quality control process. The faucet hands were crooked, and two leaked. 4 phone calls to get that fixed. What I didn't notice until days later was that they reversed the hot and cold water hoses of my washing machine. I ruined approx. $200 of delicate, cold water clothing that were both washed and rinsed in hot water. A grey, streaked, stretched out mess. I called to get this fixed at 8:00 am. 14 phone calls, broken promises, phantom time frames, and 11 1/2 hrs later, the washer was fixed. There was never a word about the ruined clothes. I actually believe that someone showed up because after call 11, I mentioned I was going to write this review. Buyer beware the lowest bid.

It was a experience working with the company starting with Paul who did the estimate. Paul called before he arrived and showed up on time, I'm sure most of people who have dealt with contractor would appreciate that. The quote was very clear and detail, no hidden charges and was the best deal out of 4 estimates received. On the day of the job Alex, the lead for the repiping crew, showed up ahead of time and waited patiently outside util we were ready. He came in and walk through the place with us, noted everything we pointed out that needs to be done and provided suggestions about some of the issues we had and needed to be fixed. He was very professional, pleasant with a great "can do" attitude. Because we need to get a new set of bath fixtures that was not in the plan he sequenced the job to wait for the new part. Turned out the new fixture was a lot more complicated than expected but Alex took care of it without batting an eye. Even with last minute changing out parts arrived later in the day from Amazon he didn't show any negative attitude. Alex went out of his way to complete the job to our satisfaction. The clean up was pretty good as well. Patching all the holes from the repiping plus repairing the ceiling damaged from flood was also completed in 1 day. The crew, subcontractor from Ameri-Cal, was also very pleasant to work with. They covered the place nicely and cleaned quite well considering the messiness of the job. The finish was quite good, blend in nicely with the existing wall. Overall experience was great.

These guys were great responsive to questions and available throughout entire planning estimate planning process. When it came time to do the job, they showed up early with an extra crew and did the entire repiping in a single day. The crew lead gave me his cell number and texted status as work progressed. The patch team was just as professional and hardworking, everything patched in one day. Interior surfaces were protected by plastic and floors by paper, surprisingly little mess for such an invasive task. Very happy with project outcome.

They communicate well with all forms - text, email, and phone call. They were willing to do whatever it took to make me a happy customer. Our homeowners association clubhouse had a leak in the main line in the concrete floor slab. Ameri-Cal's bid was the lowest and most detailed out of five obtained. Toby was confident and very knowledgeable we felt we could trust him. They also had the HOA required Worker's Comp and Liability insurances and bonding, unlike a couple of the other contractors we interviewed. Toby took the time to explain the options and we felt very comfortable approving his bid afterward. The crew that showed up to do the work was fantastic as well. They worked efficiently and left the place cleaner than when they had started. The repipe was done the first day, repairs to drywall and stucco and cleanup were done the second day. Ameri-Cal was the only company that seemed to realize that they could complete a good part of the job inside a mansard roof with a fair amount of crawl space. They worked in that space instead of cutting holes in the ceilings and running the pipes from the rooms below. They also recognized that the exterior walls on the building contained a narrow hollow area in which they could enter and use to run the pipes. Picture the interior side of the "exterior walls" running straight vertical like normal, with a small angled open space outside of that, and finally another framed wall after that which holds the stucco finish. So the building looks like a stucco teepee with the top cut off from outside. This also greatly reduced the need for holes in the drywall and less painting for us later. One contractor wanted to run the copper pipe outside around the building, leaving it exposed to theft, damage, etc. The others wanted us to move a bunch of stuff in two storage rooms to get access to the walls. Ameri-cal saved us a lot of unnecessary time and effort. We are extremely please with the work done and will recommend them to our neighbors when they need a repipe or a water heater.
Description of Work: Complete copper repipe of HOA clubhouse & pool areas including kitchen sink, four toilets, one urinal, two bathroom sinks, two showers, and two hose bibbs. We had other bids and although this company was very good for the work to be done, just happened to find a similar company that would be able to do the same work and it would cost me less.
Description of Work: William Vannarath came on time for estimate to totally repipe my house with schedule K copper pipe. He was very careful in his estimate, showing me exactly what his company would do, how the pipe will be isolated in the wall, what type valves would be used, the warranty, how much time it would take (1 day for piping, 1 day for inspection, 1 day for drywall repair). His company would take care of everything from permits to final drywall patch and repair. He was aware that I was having other estimates from other companies and checked back to see if they were done. I would recommend his company.

It was going good at first. He stated the work couldn't be done today. I understood that. I stated is there a temp. way to fix the pipe so we can use the water for inside the house. He stated yes, we can put a repair clamp which would be 100. and that would fix for now. So we went into how would cost to fix the whole thing. Pipe was about 48 ft. long and it would have to under cement at the door way. He quoted 300, that would be about 4 to 6 hours of labor. I ask, now that we are using you again, will that 100, be credit to the over all job. He stated yes, it would be 50 toward the job. He didn't have paper work with him. So he stated he would go back to the office and make up the work. I did have my mom with me as a witness. Before he left we recap how much it would cost. He stated tomorrow when the work is done it would be 400. So I stated wait a moment you "300", and now it is 400. He could not come with what we talk. I told him you stated it would 300 and I also ask if the 100 would be credit. "you said yes and it would 50 toward the total cost." I ask how much, he stated 400. So I went over him slow and clear. on what was said. He couldn't recall what he said. During this whole time never took off his sunglasses. No eye to eye contact. This is the reason I will not use this company double talk and dose not let you see his eyes.
Description of Work: Came to the house to see the problem. Due he was just down the street from us. It was an old pipe leaking outside the house. Metal 3/4 going into and 1/2 inch pipe. 1/2 inch pipe is old and leaking. He gave one price then up it at the end of the meeting gave me a higher price.

Response from Ameri-Cal Repipe & Plumbing
I am very sorry that there was such a misunderstanding between our company and [member name removed]. I am the Manager that responded to [member name removed] call on a Sunday for a water leak repair. Since it was a Sunday, it was my recommendation that we just repair the pipe temporarily and allow the water to be turned back on so that the family would have water until a permanent repair could be done. The estimate was for 6 hours of work. The repair for the Sunday work would cost $100.00, and the work for the permanent repair that we could do the following day, Monday, would cost $350.00. But since this was an emergency, I told [member name removed] that we would credit him $50 as a goodwill gesture, and that the total cost would then be $400. This seemed like a very reasonable cost for this repair: two trips to the home and 6 hours of work to repair a leak. We would get the water on for the family without any hardship due to the leaking pipe that day, and we could return to finish it the next day. I am unsure of why there was a misunderstanding regarding the cost of fixing the leaking pipe. I made a great effort to convey the facts to [member name removed], but he became confused and did not understand what I was trying to tell him. It certainly was not my intention to mislead or overcharge [member name removed]. The whole cost would be $400 for an emergency repair and a permanent repair the next day which is a very reasonable price for our plumbing services. We only gave [member name removed] an estimate, and tried to respond to his situation promptly and professionally. [member name removed] can certainly hire any contractor that he chooses for this repair. However, since we did not perform any work, did not charge [member name removed] for this estimate, and I provided a reasonable estimate as I was asked to do on a Sunday , we believe this review is not a valid reflection of how our company responded to [member name removed]. Once again, I am sorry that there was this misunderstanding and I do hope that [member name removed] was able to have the leak repaired to his satisfaction.

We found them on Angie's List (first time users BTW), so this is an endorsement that the site REALLY WORKS. Overall VERY GOOD and VERY RESPONSIVE. Toby was great. Something highly unusual in the trades. These folks have their act together and REALLY know their stuff. They did what they said and delivered on the promise. Professional and efficient. Even the LA city inspector commented on the high quality of the work. The patch-up crew that closed up the walls, did some of the best dry wall work I have ever seen. And just so this does not sound like a "shilled" review...although they did seal up the house in plastic to control dust and cover the floors with rosin paper...(which for the most part did the job) when they left (in fairness it was dark at it was 9:30PM) there was some trash around the yard, left over paper and tape and some construction debris. All this said, in the scheme of things this was hardly an issue and in final analysis one of the best experiences with any contractor/plumber/builder etc. PERIOD. If you are in the market for a REPIPE, this is the group to go with!

Americal repiped my 80 year old duplex in 2 days! Overall they did an excellent job. The crew clearly knew what they were doing and they worked long hard days. Everything did not go "perfect", but when issues arose they were very responsive, sometimes communicating with me after hours. I did learn one thing through this process - repiping experts are not necessarily drain pipe experts. When you get your house repiped, the quote does not include drain lines. I understood this going in. We agreed that when the walls were open, they would look at the lines, give me a price for any drain work and make necessary repairs. I did ask the foreman if they look inside the drain lines with cameras as other companies do, but apparently he assesses the drain lines just by looking at the drain pipes from the outside. They did replace a couple of drains that clearly needed to be replaced. Unfortunately a couple weeks after they patched all the walls we had to replace a leaking old drain pipe that somehow was missed. They took care of it in a timely fashion. It just would have been nice to have had all of this done right the first time. Since then, I have been told that the best way to assess all of your plumbing and drain lines is to run the water through every fixture when your walls are open and a plumber is under the house. Apparently certain drain experts will do this because even the cameras that run inside your pipes can miss small leaks.

Great work. Toby came out and did the estimate. He was real patient with all our questions. He additionally returned our calls with follow up questions. He gives a good first impression for the company. We obtained 3 bids and one was lower. We still decided on Ameri-Cal because of Toby's great attitude. The crew arrived to do the work and were a bit late due to traffic. However, they more then made up for it by the quality of their work and by staying late to finish the piping in one day. They were led by Alex, who was also patient to questions and who ensured we were happy with the results as it progressed. The quality of the work was excellent. The next day Armando arrived to repair the holes in the walls and stucco. I was amazed. The quality of his work was outstanding. Overall, we were pleased with the total experience of something that could be real stressing. We will certainly recommend them to friends and associates.

Basically it was MUCH smoother than I expected. I always thought re-piping would be a big deal, and much more expensive than I ended up paying. I actually got three quotes, one was SUPER expensive, and the other two were comparable. I chose Ameri-cal because they said they would do a bunch of other little things for free. We basically took the opportunity to buy all new fixtures in the mast batch and the downstairs and boys bedrooms, and they installed them all as part of the deal.m They also included the valves for free (we went with Delta), as I forgot to buy them when I got the showerheads and sink faucets. Day 1, they finished the repiping in one day. We were left with a bunch of holes in our house and my wife came home and freaked out. But by the end of the day (around 6:00), we had the water back on and everything was done. Day 2 was the inspection, they arranged all off that and I didn't have to do anything but be there. Day 3 they patched all the holes. I was surprised as to how well they matched the texture of all the different surfaces they had to cut holes in. Basically by the end of this day the house was totally back to normal and we just had to paint. All in all, they were excellent and if I ever have to repipe a house again, I would call them in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We had to do a re-pipe of our house. We had developed a leak in one pipe that burst a hole through the drywall int he ceiling. it was like a 2-inch rusty stalagmite of calcified deposits dropping from the pipe slowly dripping through the drywall. That, and the fact that our house was built in 1968, and our water pressure, was terrible, I knew we need a re-pipe. They re-piped our 4 bedroom 3 baths home with PEX piping, and were done in three days. Now the water pressure is great, no more rust, and it's been 4 days and the house looks almost completely back to normal (all holes are patched and textured to the appropriate texture). I just need to paint and I'll be back to normal (actually better than normal).

I had Dan come out and give me an estimate. He gave me a fair estimate and mentioned a few things I might be interested in. I wanted to go with Ameri-Cal right after I was done talking with Dan but my inner-homeowner said to get more estimates. So I did, and I am glad that I did, I learned a lot and changed a few things. Ameri-Cal followed up with me to find out if I had made a decision or if I had questions, this time I was talking with Joe. I had Joe revise my estimate at least 6 times, and every single time he took care of it with ease and still provided me with a competitive price. Once all my estimates were done and I was sure of what I wanted I decided to go with Ameri-Cal. The estimate for the work to be done was 1-2 days. On the day they started someone came early and put down paper and sheeting to cover my house, then people began arriving to start work. The foreman Sam introduced himself and told me if I had any questions he would be more than happy to answer them. They put in a full day of work and had to come back. They left my house and my yard clean and orderly. They weren't able to come back the following day but they came back the day after that (a Saturday) and put in another full day of work. By this time all the work was done and we needed to wait for the inspector. Once the inspector came and signed off, they came the following day and patched everything (even some holes that weren't made by them) and put the yard back together. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Ameri-Cal.
Description of Work: Complete house re-pipe to copper pipe. Moved water heater from kitchen to garage. Relocated overhead gas line to underground.
