The details:
This is my first review and couldn't be happier. I called Service Champions because my gas furnace wasn't turning on. I changed the batteries in the thermostat, changed the filter and even unplugged it and plugged it back in, still no dice. Wasn't too pleased about having to call someone out but what are you gonna do. I called in and spoke with Roddy. Real nice guy. He coached me through what the cost of a visit would be, $67 or so, and that if any work was done the $67 would go towards the full cost of any replacement parts, etc. They were very prompt, scheduled a same day visit no problem, and showed up on time. I was a few minutes late getting home through traffic but my tech was smiling and friendly none-the-less having to wait a few minutes on me. Added bonus they called me 30 minutes before he arrived so I knew when to leave work, good for us that have to manage our work/life balance.
Something I noticed throughout the visit they are very mindful to provide the best customer service and man they walked the walk.
So Aaron Warner was my technician and did a fabulous job. Aaron was very kind, courteous, and knowledgeable about his trade craft. He even wore booties so he didn?t get my floor dirty and put down his own floor mat at the front door to wipe his shoes off even when I told him he didn?t have to. I explained the problem and he had my unit open and got right to the troubleshooting. He ran a full diagnostic and had the problem identified in no time flat. After finding a faulty valve and explaining the options, we agreed on the solution, he gathered the parts from his van and he had it back together and working just in time for my wife to walk in and feel the nice warm air again. Even after my wife got home and started asking all the same questions Aaron kindly answered all her questions again as I rolled my eyes.

They gave us a huge, oversized condenser which was so large we had to put it in our patio instead of on the side of the house, yet the HVAC unit itself is undersized. Our neighbors have a house the same size as ours, with a larger HVAC and a condenser half the size, thirty years old, that works better than our new system.
The AC didn't work from day one. They made three trips back and each time, the rep turned on the AC, put a thermometer up to it, and declared the system working. But after 2 or 3 minutes, when the cold air from the ducts had blown out, it began blowing hot air which it sucked up from outside. We had someone from another company come and run dye through the system, and he found a huge leak at a joint that hadn't been welded properly. We had gone through a very hot August, average indoor temp of 86 degrees.
The company president came out and accused us of having someone come in and create a hole so we could get out of paying for the system!!! We had other family members here who have dealt with construction and home improvement, and after they argued with these jerks, the hole got welded up. Unfortunately, we are stuck with an inefficient system and will never call them for warranty/repairs.
They even had the gaul to insist that we remove bad reviews from the Better Business Bureau website! We didn't. And now that we are on Angie's List, we can vent a little more. Stay away from this bad-news company !

Unfortunately, we did encounter challenges with ensuring adequate cooling and ventilation through your home. In consideration of this, we replaced your ducting at no charge in July, 2007. We recognize that throughout the process of installing your system and ducts, there were some challenging circumstances.
