RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! This is by far the absolute worst company I have come across in all my years of hiring any type of company to do anything for me. The communication by this company is horrible. The work done is horrible. The level of care and attention is horrible. They lie and are unapologetic. The Owner also refuses to communicate or step in to respond / deal with customer complaints. If you want to be miserable, hire this company. Otherwise, I suggest you use anybody but L.A. Glass.

I reached out and the initial response was rather swift, however once I sent the specs and they asked me where I was located the communication ceased and here I am weeks later with no completed job, nor response, or quote.

They responded to my request in a timely manner. I decided not to use them as the contractor I hired to do some other work said he could fix my shower door problem.

I called and set up an appointment. I was told that they would call me back to confirm the appointment for the morning 8-11 am window. I did not receive a call. Strike one. I called first thing in the morning at 8am to let them know that we did not receive a call and needed confirmation they were still coming since I had the tenant waiting for the worker. The office said that they would page the driver. An hour later still no word. I called back and they paged the driver again. Forty-five minutes later I finally got a call saying sorry they are having technical issues w/ the truck. Didn't seem or feel believable at all. Sounded like a go to excuse for a worker dropping the ball. My main frustration is that this is the 3rd company in a row to now show up for this simple job, but LA Glass is getting the added built up in frustration of workers not following through.
Response from Los Angeles Glass Co

"we would like to apologize for any confusion. as we have notice you want to voice your opinion online. in our defense, contractor appts. arent like you may expect to be on your doorstep, and the time you want exactly. we are mobile and offering a FREE estimate. and there are many factors that can cause a delay. specially a next day appt,, giving us a F on just not to your standards on when we show up to your doorstep and trying to slander our companys reputation online, without being a customer or any expense to you, is not a fair assessment. you can always choose another company."

In the beginning, the company responded promptly to my initial phone call requesting a quote to replace all windows in my home. Unfortunately, I then received contradictory requests from the company. First, the receptionist told me that they could provide a quote if I would send photos and dimensions of all windows. This surprised me since I expected them to need to inspect the job before quoting. But as requested, I provided photos and dimensions that same day. Then I received an email from a company VP stating that they were excited about the job but that he had many questions and would need to inspect. I agreed since that was my initial expectation. So we scheduled an onsite inspection. (It should be noted that, during the next few weeks, I tried to contact that VP on several occasions but could never get a return call or email). After the inspection, I was told that the quote would be completed within a few days. This is where the process deteriorated. From the beginning, I asked that the quote be prepared listing each window with corresponding price and specs to ensure that all windows being quoted were consistent with my request to replace all windows. When the quote was finally provided (late), it was presented as a lump sum with no cost itemization by window and the total cost was much higher than an initial indication by the person who inspected my home. When I discussed the quote with one of the office personnel, she was unable to answer basic questions about the apparent double counting of labor cost and she promised to email a revised quote to me within 1 day. After waiting nearly 2 weeks for that revised quote, which I never received, I called the company asking to speak with the VP who had initially emailed me. But I was told that he was unavailable and that I would receive a call back, soon. That never happened. Unfortunately, the positive impression that I had from my initial contact with LA Glass eroded over the nearly month-long process which included contradictory requests, inability to honor company commitments for feedback, high cost estimate, and inability to communicate with the VP whose initial email indicated his excitement about the job.
Response from Los Angeles Glass Co

"Sorry you had that experience, But in our defense we did provide you with a quote, quickly. This was based on 55 different window sizes, we contacted our manufactures. Our sales rep was told that you didn't think it should cost this much and it should be closer to $10,000 and what the field tech gave a "rough estimate", to have an idea. At the same time you wanted a excel sheet itemized for the cost, and a format standard for yourself even though the pricing was not what you thought it should be. After conversion we never heard back from you until we received this message. We conduct ourselves in the most professional manner in this whole process. This is an unfair assessment of our business."

The 'F' I'm giving here is not for "lousy;" it's for HORRIBLE. On March 16 a technician came to my house to provide me with an estimate to replace the double-pane glass that was broken on my garage door. He gave us 3 different prices and we selected the option we wanted and also handed over a check for $250 as a deposit. The tech took the measurements and said it would take a couple of days to get someone to come back out and replace the glass. It has now been two weeks and we have not heard a single word from these providers; not a phone call, nothing. I called yesterday in the early afternoon to follow up and was told that all the techs were out on jobs and the person with whom I was on the phone would have to wait until they returned to get some information from them. She said she'd call me back. I also called the cell phone of the tech that initially came out and it went straight to voicemail so I left a message. I still have not received a call back from either contact. I left another message last night asking for my money back. I confirmed that the check was processed but apparently getting back to the customer is not a priority. By 9:00 this morning I still had not received a call so I called again at 9:30 (this is the number for the Gardena office that is on my invoice) and spoke with a woman who said she could see that the glass had already been made and that she didn't understand why it hadn't been picked up yet. She said she'd call "Carlos" and ask what was going on. She said she'd call me right back. I also called the tech person again and no answer. THREE HOURS LATER and I'm still waiting for a response. I called again to the same number and got another person, a guy this time, who said he's just a dispatch person. I demanded to know what's going on and why I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me. He said he didn't know and that he could see all my messages in the system. He put me on hold while he tried to reach someone from that department but he said no one was answering. He said he'd leave a message for me. HOW MANY MESSAGES MUST I LEAVE TO GET A RESPONSE????? I feel robbed and if this is not resolved I will have to contact my attorney. This is completely mind blowing. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism. I am extremely upset by this whole situation and want it resolved immediately.

I almost didn't call this company as they already had a 'B' rating, but I did anyway, so I probably got what I asked for....

I contacted Gus (the owner) on 12/05/2014 and was asked to forward a picture of the glass that needed to be replaced along with the measurements. I did so, and never heard back from him or anybody else in the company.  On 12/08/2014 I got back in touch with them and spoke with the "only women that works there," as she so stated.  She apologized for Gus, telling me that if she were to  not have gotten back to a customer that she would have been in trouble.   We set a date for 12/15/2014 for them to come and give me an estimate, apologizing as she knew rain was on the way and I had this broken window to deal with.  On Saturday the 12/13/2014, I received two missed calls from the Glass Doctor with no attached voice mails.  I called the number back and only received a v/m, but left a message asking that they please call back. Again, another missed call with no message attached.  I then called on Monday the 15th to find out what time they would be here.  I was told by the "only woman that works there," that because they couldn't confirm a time with me on Saturday that they wouldn't be able to come today.  After explaining that nobody got in touch with me to confirm a time she apologized and couldn't explain why no one left a message for me. When I told her that was not going to work for me and that I would have to go with another company, she hung up on me.  When I called to speak to a manager, the only woman in the office answered the phone, and she apparently is the manager.....shocking!!  She said she was to busy to argue with me, and hung up again.  It is no wonder they only have a "B" rating, their customer service is horrendous!!

Response from Los Angeles Glass Co

"We try to accommodate everyone during our hours of operations, If we get emails running through the weekend, we address them on the next business day, in this case Monday 12/8. Clients that prefer email quotes, are asking for quotes most of the time. We do encourage to make an appointment. It may seem unfair to a company to demand service at a certain time. Its very difficult to meet a specific time we have to make it work, together. We also feel that we should have gotten more information. For appointments we have to give a Time frame, and we call the number provided to meet. There are countless of instances that clients don’t' answer their numbers and never call us back. It wasn't lack of effort, we tried. Again we're sorry."

The technician who came out gave me an estimate that was much higher than previous service calls. I expressed my surprise regarding the price difference, but unfortunately, we were unable to come to any pricing agreement; therefore, I would like to have a refund from this vendor since I do not want to use this vendor in the future. Thanks,

The job from start to finish was done to high professional standards.  There was a zero-pressure salesman who worked with us.  He answered all of our questions so that we understood.  The price was (in our opinion) fair.
We ordered the windows on the day of the sales presentation.  A few days later they were installed.  The installation crew was great.  They never stopped smiling, and even adjusted a mini blind for us.
A couple of days later we noticed a (extremely) small hairline crack in one of the windows.  The day after we informed Glass Doctor a person stopped by, saw the problem, ordered a new window for us immediately.  Within two days the replacement window was installed.
Great service .. great people .. great follow up .. good price .. what more could you ask for?  I highly recommend.

I called Wed morning and made an appointment for this Thur morning. I called 3 times to check when they would be arriving. The first time I was told he was finishing up a job and would call me in 30 minutes to let me know he was arriving. I waited another hour and never received a call so I called back twice. The first time I was on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up and waited a few min and called back and I'm not sure if they answered my call or didn't realize someone was on the line but I could hear background noises and kept saying hello and trying to get someone's attention but never did and then the line hung up.  I had already purchased the Angies Deal they offered because of the good reviews but now it's Friday and I have still not received a call to reschedule or to make amends. I'm hoping I can exchange the deal I purchased and use it with a different company.

At 4:59 pm they still had not arrived. I called and spoke to the dispatcher. He said that they had attempted to call me to confirm and that they had not been able to get a hold of me. I have only a cell phone and there was no record of a missed call or a voice mail. When I pointed that out to the dispatcher, he cut me off and interrupted me, speaking in a very patronizing tone. I explained to him that I had been professional and polite throughout, so he had no reason to speak to me in that manner. In the end, he became belligerent, and I told him that I would go elsewhere for my services.
