"Thank You!"
"This client said they would leave a bad review if I didn't lower my price and it seems they have followed through. I think it is important to understand the facts and hope to clarify a bit as the perspective of this client is not complete. First the client and I never met. I worked with another gentleman onsite. That gentleman was very happy with my work and service. The job was sent to me via email and due to the client's rush I gave him a price without seeing the job first. From the homeowner's inspection report I priced out the repairs I saw and sent them to the owner. My assumptions were "assuming 1-3 GFCI outlets needed and the rest of the repairs are pretty straight forward and more work is not needed." I could not account for any work that was not on the report and the A/C unit needing to be rewired was not on the report. The inspection report called out to replace a breaker in the panel due to over sizing. I included replacing the breaker to the proper size for the wire. On most jobs like this the breaker just needs to be sized down. No further work is needed. On this one I did all the work needed to replace the breaker but stopped to double check the load and found that the breaker did not need to be downsized but rather the wire that fed the A/C unit needed to be up sized. I could have replaced the breaker but I think it is important to do the right thing. The person that was there with me told me that the A/C unit had just been installed by another contractor and that he would call them back to complete the repair. (I say this to highlight the kind of contractor the client may be used to working with.) I replaced both circuit breakers as at the well panel as instructed by the client, he was hoping that replacing the breakers would fix the problem. When I found the breakers were not the problem I diagnosed that the pumps worked but the control mechanism was not working. The only work included in my original price was to replace the two breakers. The diagnosis I performed may have saved this client several hundred dollars. The man that was onsite with me was able to find the issue and fix it right away after I gave him my diagnosis and did not have to call out the pump company as we had discussed. ( The onsite gentleman turned on the pumps while I was there but it is possible the control needed to be replaced) I then added GFCI outlets to the kitchen as required and troubleshot and repaired a three-way switching system in the kitchen that had been miswired. I even went the extra mile to rewire the switch so the dimmer could be on the most convenient side. I admit the work did not take me that long but it did take me as long as I thought it would when compiling my estimate and I did purchase all the materials needed. I did not offer to credit the cost of the breaker I had purchased for the panel (the one I did not install) because I had done more then I had said I would in diagnosing the well and rewiring the kitchen switch. The client also was not looking for a $20 reduction in the cost. When the client told me he was going to leave me a bad review I asked him to be sure and tell everyone that, "Ehinger Electric did the work they said they would do for the price they said it would be". I do not feel the client said that or gave an accurate description but I do feel I did more than I was asked. I appreciated the work and would be happy to work for this client again. I realize he was in a tight spot financially with the real estate transaction and probably frustrated by all the cost mounting up. I also realize it is hard to understand the value of service when you do not actually meet the workman or see the work with your own eyes. I do not hold this review against him as we are all entitled to our perspectives. I give upfront pricing and do the work for the price I give. My hope is simply to give my perspective to help you choose with both sides of the story."

Danny also told me about some GFI outlets I need to get installed in the kitchen and bathroom for safety reasons, so I'm sure I'll be calling him again for service soon.
"Thank You!"
He is very knowledgeable in his field and definitely goes the extra mile concerning what he is there for. I would recommend him to anyone, especially any elderly people who might be sensitive to who they let in their homes.
"Thank You!"
i would recommend them and will use their service should the need arise.

A few days later I called the electrical labor union and asked them for the names of union members who worked in my area. They gave me the name of French Electric. The owner came out and he solved my problem. He also said that if he could not find out what was causing the electrical problem I would not be charged -- no matter how long he was there. Since I did not get that guarantee from Ehinger I decided to hire French Electric to do the work.
"I am sorry it did not work out that I could find your issue on the first level diagnosis but I am happy you were able to get the work done and are happy with French Electric. French Electric is a good guy and we have traded referrals in the past."
Electrician came on time, with prior verification of arrival.
Estimate was given and explained, with options for level of electrical service given.
Lighting had failed in a couple of our living areas, and after some effort and sleuthing, electrician traced the problem back to a defective chandelier and also to a wall outlet that was no longer grounded. (It was explained that our outlets all were of cheap quality and will need to be replaced in time, indeed, that all outlets will wear over time and can present a fire danger problem if worn out and they become and quot;hotand quot; by arching electric current. We will address that problem later, but soon.) $150 fix for 2 lights and3 outlets.
Also the fluorescent ceiling lights in our kitchen were failing continuously, with ballast problems that persisted for years. The 3 fixtures, ballasts and fluorescent bulbs were modernized and upgraded, for about $350.
Electrician honored the Angie's List coupon of $25, reducing our outlay by 5%.
He had to go to the warehouse to obtain parts for the kitchen lights, but he returned and completed the work the same day. Given the amount of time spent making the repairs, the estimate and cost were very reasonable. (We had needlessly delayed getting the problems diagnosed and the repairs completed because of our fear of the costs involved. This electrician seems as affordable as they come.)
Attention was paid to cleanliness, disposal of old parts (some hazardous), testing of work done, and satisfaction of the consumer. Personable and friendly, too.
Really like the detailed information voluntarily given (especially about our potentially hazardous wall outlets and how they should best be replaced).
Highly recommend this electrician in every respect.
