Arrow Garage Door

Doug said he would arrive between 4 and 5. He arrived a couple minutes before 4 and had the torsion springs replaced within half an hour. He was nice and totally professional.

Doug's assistant arrived first. Doug came with the garage door. They disassembled the old garage door and hauled it away to make room for the new garage door. It took a couple of hours to do just as they promised. Then they assembled the new garage door. They cleaned up after themselves, which is important to me. Do, have enough room in your garage for installation. They need room to assemble the garage door panels.

He gave me an estimate on the phone, but the problem was less than he thought so he charged less. He quickly repaired the problem, did maintenance on the door and was in and out in half an hour, one day after I called.

Doug assessed the problem, said it was easily fixable and set to work while I went back inside the house. Ten minutes later, I heard the garage door lift motor being activated several times from the garage wall switch, followed by a knock at the door and Doug's report that it was all taken care of. He then presented me with a bill for $40. I mentioned we planned to upgrade to a more modern door in a year or two and he retrieved a large picture catalog from his truck and gave it to me, telling the me the general price range of the parts and labor for the doors in the catalog.

A few days ago, my 7-year old was jump roping in the garage and her jump rope caught on the garage door release, releasing the door from the opener. My 3 year old was standing right in the path of the garage door, which came crashing down. I was sitting on the step at the far end of the garage and was helpless to stop the door, but yelled for her to get out of the way. Fortunately, she managed to run out of the way before the door came down on her and everyone escaped uninjured. I was about to call the contractor who replaced the garage door springs 8 years ago to have them come and tension them, but decided to check Angie's List first. The other company is listed, but had a B rating and only a few reports, so I decided to try someone at the top of the list. I requested an appointment (a 1-hour window) for the afternoon after I called as that was the time that worked best for me. Doug was happy to come during that time and even showed up a little early. He said that one of my two springs was several sizes too small, but he was still able to safely add some tension to both to get the correct balance. He even lubed the rollers, hinges, springs, and the opener screw-drive. Thanks again, Doug! Now my family can feel safe again.

A good experience: Called several providers found here on Angie's List, and Doug's bid was reasonable(not the lowest, but close). He came on a Saturday to give the estimate. A week later, the door arrived from the factory and Doug brought the new door over. He spent about 4 hours removing the old door and installing the new door. The old door had two ventilation slots, so Doug installed new vents on the side wall of the garage. When all was done, the new door worked very nicely, and Doug hauled away the old stuff plus some other junk that I asked him to dump for me. It's been several months now, and there have been no problem with the new door and the new opener.

The best thing about our experience was the customer service. Doug answered his phone, even on a Sunday and came out the same evening to replace our springs. We were worried that we could not go to work Monday morning, and even though Sunday is his day off, he alleviated our fears, especially since we called more than five other companies and did not get an answer.

I had a couple of estimates before Doug came out. Immediately I knew he was the man for the job. I had a very large door opening that I wanted 2 doors on instead of 1 because of what we were using the garage for (pretty much a workshop, and I wanted the option of just opening one 1/2 of the garage up). Both the other companies tried to talk me out of the 2 doors, just because it was more work and there was an issue with the center 4x4. Doug knew what I wanted and didn't blink an eye. He installed within a week and it took less than a day. Beautiful workmanship and everything was up to my expectations and more.

Doug arrived at the appointed time and thirty minutes later the door was fixed. The door now opens smoothly and VERY quietly. I am extremely pleased with the work performed by Arrow Garage Door. I certainly would call this company again for any garage door issues and highly recommend them to all of my neighbors.

They did a great job, and I was very happy with the gentleman. I even asked him to do a little work while he was there, and he did it, and he was a very nice gentleman.

The response was awesome. I called around 9:30, and they not only answered their phone, but made an appointment for between 11 and 12. They arrived about 11:15, and fixed the door in a very short time (less than 30 minutes, I think). The problem was a bracket that need to be replaced.

Doug came the same day I called. He was running a bit late but still came over even though it was 8pm! My roll up door had some or the rollers come off and the door only opened about 1 foot. He made repairs quickly to the door as well as adjustments to the opener and had it fixed in no time. Super nice guy a real joy to work with. Frankly, he could have sold me on replacing one whole side of the rolling track but didn't. Sold me only what I needed.

It went very well. Doug is personable and energetic. Work was done efficiently and the quality seems excellent. He did run a bit late but called to let us know what was happening.

Did it all quickly and expertly. Lead time was only a few days, which made planning quite easy. Came out a few months beforehand to give a quote, and remembered when I called back. Nice guy, easy to talk with. Will give you no bull and not try to upsell you (at least, he didn't me).

Doug handled the job beautifully. He was able to fit me into his schedule on short notice, and called promptly when he realized that a previous job was taking longer than he expected, giving me an updated expected time of arrival. He arrived right on time, and proceeded to repair the door with a minimum of fuss and bother. He was very professional and clearly had a lot of experience with various types of garage doors. He was happy to answer questions and had a very easygoing manner. I would happily recommend him for any other garage door work.

I came home Friday evening to a garage door that SIMPLY WOULD NOT OPEN! I panicked, realizing we had no way in other than through a small window that probably hadn't been opened in 20 years. To make it worse, our dinner guests offered to bring a Saws-All... After they left, I checked Angie's List, decided on Arrow, and left a message on a machine at 10:30 Friday night. Doug returned my call just before 9 on Saturday morning. He was in our driveway by 9:30. He forced the door up, clamped it open, and set to work. Although only one spring was broken, we opted to replace both, on Doug's very logical recommendation. He was finished by 10:10, then spent a few minutes adjusting the tension so the door would be easy for us to open and close. He was gone by 10:30, and we went on with our weekend as if nothing had happened. We couldn't have been more pleased with the responsiveness and service.

Doug was a pleasure to work with: Polite, punctual and honest. You can't ask for much more than that. He was also very personable and we ended up chatting while he worked, much better than some past experiences with others!

Great! Doug came out and gave me the estimate, we set a date for the install. He showed up on the agreed upon day, on time and did a great job with the work.

Read about the good reviews on Angie's List, and called Doug on the Sat morning (spring broke the night before). Doug mentioned he could do 7pm, and arrived on-time. He replaced the spring in 20 mins. Very professional, very friendly. He also took the time to explain to me how the spring worked, and taught me the proper way to open the garage door manually during the next power outage or if the spring went out again. Highly recommended.

I came home from work and my garage door wouldn't open. Upon examination, I could see that the spring was broken in half. The next morning I called Arrow and spoke directly to Doug Clark who gave me a quote for the work on the phone. We made an appointment for between 1 and 2 on a Saturday. He arrived promptly, completed the work within a half hour, and now my door works perfectly!

We had an excellent experience. I called Doug on a Saturday morning to set up an appointment for an estimate and he was able to come out the same day. Our garage door had come unhinged and off its track, so it was slightly ajar. This was inviting for small animals and potential thieves, so we wanted to quickly replace the door since it wasn't closed properly. Doug not only gave us the estimate that day, but fixed the door by getting it back on the track and diagnosed the problem of a broken piece of the opener that supports the retracting of the door. So we had piece of mind that at least our door was closed and no one could get inside until the new door would be installed. He did all this without us giving him the job yet. He was able to come out to replace the door within the next week, came early, completed the demo work of removing the wooden beams, old door and tracking system and installed our beautiful new door. The work was excellent and the garage door looks great!

There was one person doing the work and it took him about one hour to finish. He did show up a little late, but he called when he was on his way.
