Abel Garage Door

Overall I would say it was a good experience.

We noticed the arm bracket that pulls the garage door up/down was starting to pull away from the garage door.  Sensing that this could be a real problem in the making if we didn't get it fixed promptly, spurred us to call Abel Garage Door that Wednesday evening.  Greg provided an estimate over the phone that was quite reasonable and is pretty much standard.  He was willing to send someone  the very next day, but unfortunately, we had prior commitments.  We were able to agree on Friday evening for the technician to come out and repair the door.  In contrast, the other two garage door companies we called told us they could come out almost a week from the time we called.  Interestingly enough, when I called one of the companies back to cancel the next week's appointment they could all of a sudden accommodate us even after we asked if they could come sooner in the first place.  That made us appreciate Greg even more.
Charles, the technician, showed up right on time and got right to work fixing the garage.  He was able to repair the garage door even though it's an older garage door and parts may have been a bit more difficult to match up.  He did a great job at repairing and servicing our door.  His professionalism was greatly appreciated.

The owner gave an accurate estimate over the phone and offerred to complete the job the same day. Due to my schedule, I scheduled the work the next day. He arrived during the time period that he had told me he would arrive and called in advance to let me know he was on his way. He quickly assessed the problem and completed the work. The work was completed within the estimate and I only needed to buy a $15 part. He seemed knowledgeable and was professional.

Very happy with the help on the phone when I called to set appointment, service tech was sent to my home and he arrived promptly.  Really appreciated the call that service tech was on his way.  My problem was fixed and recommendations were made to keep problem from happening again.  Service tech was very helpful in explaining our options.  We have decided to have a new garage opener installed and will have this company take care of it.  

The work was completed quickly and neatly and the price was very reasonable.  I would definatley recommend him to my friends.  He was friendly and courteous.

Greg and Mike were very efficient and installed a new one very quickly.  They were very nice and the price seemed reasonable to me.  I am satisfied that the one they installed is a good, sturdy one.  They know what they're doing! Good job!

Our garage door would not open and on my cursory examination the spring was broken.  Called Abel and they were finishing a job and came over about one hour later, just as they said they would.  The repairman was quite professional and explained what was wrong and how he would repair it along with the estimated cost.  In addition he found a part that was also broken and was causing all of the noise I originally heard when trying to open the garage door.  Again he took the time to show me the part and how it was broken before replacing it.
Very professional and would use them again.

I contacted Mike with Abel Garage Door on 6/18/12 and scheduled a service call for 6/21/12. Mike arrived on time and got right to work. I had been having trouble with the door. There were times when the door would start to go up and then suddenly stop or start to come down and suddenly stop. Mike did a thorough inspection of the door and identified that when the door was initially installed, the electrical wiring was not the best. He identified that there was likely a short in the junction box into which the motor was plugged. Given the way in which the door was originally installed, it would not be easy for an electrician to get to the junction box so Mike quickly and easily moved the mechanism to that an electrician can easily access the electrical supply for the door.
While Mike was here, he performed a regular maintenance on the door, which likely had never been done since it's installation in 1998. In addition, he identified that the rollers on the door were starting to wobble and indicated that eventually they would have to be replaced. He quoted me a price and given my positive experience with Mike and Abel Garage Door, I had Mike replace all of the rollers. He made some additional adjustments to the springs so that the door goes up and down more easily.
Once again...this is another very positive experience for me identifying a company through Angie's List. I don't think anyone really like spending money on repairs but for me, I'd be happy to give my money to folks like this any day. Mike was personable, knowledgeable, professional and an all around nice guy.

They came provided an estimate; with Angie's  List  coupon it was pretty good deal.  They were professional, courtesy, and friendly.  Highly recommended.

My remote for my garage door would only open the door, not close it and I had to hold down the button on the wall the entire time for the door to close.  I called Abel Garage on Monday or Tuesday for them to come out and look at it, they were able to come out on Saturday morning which was nice since I work during the week.  My appointment time was between 9 and 11 A.M., he called around 9:30 A.M. to let me know he would be there in 30 minutes.  He was nice and courteous when he arrived, I explained the issues to him and I went back inside while he worked on the garage door.  He knocked on my door maybe 30 or 40 minutes later to say he had fixed the problem.  He had replaced two infrared sensors, so now the remote worked properly and so did the button on the wall.  He wrote me out an invoice and I paid him by check.  He was very nice and the whole appointment took less time than I thought it would and he was able to fix it without having to come back, which was nice.  I will definitely hire them again if I have problems with my garage door, but hopefully I won't.

Outstanding. They have always arrived immediately and gotten us exactly what we needed. They stand behind their products too. Once, when the circuit board blew out on our Liftmaster (no fault of theirs), they ordered the replacement via FedEX and installed it immediately - no charge because the opener was fairly new. Very high quality and professional. We feel that we have our own garage door person.

I really liked him. He was on time and was very honest. He gave me options instead of replacing my garage door. He was quick. He could have tried to sell me something but he did not.

Called them on 3/3/2012 and left a message on there recorder. Received a call back on 3/5/2012 and I explained our problem that needed to be looked at. They set up a time frame of between 10AM and noon that they would be here. The young man from there company arrived around 10Am and looked at our door and found two hinges that needed replacement. I told him to replace all the rollers while he was here. He serviced our garage door spring while he was here as it was to tight on one of the springs and lubed the door while he was here. The work was done promptly and we are happy with the work done and would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to someone else. They honored the discount from Angies list also.

They were friendly and knowledgeable.  Basically I told them what my problem was over the phone and they knew exactly what to do.  They stopped off, got the parts and brought them here and had it done within a half hour.  They were courteous and fast.  I thought their pricing was a little high.

Job was excellent.

As stated above, Mr Files (owner of Abel Garage Doors) came out to my home and provided a new remote control garage door opener, reprogrammed the garage opener, and reprogrammed our second car remote garage door opener so the stolen remote unit would no longer open our garage door.  His quick response was much appreciated.
