Description of Work: Overall they did a good job. Job foreman was surly and didn't really answer some simple questions. Patching was spotty and they had to be called back which they did. Called owner several times for answers and he never called back. they do a good job, but are not real pleasant to deal with. Don't know if I would use again for that reason.

Description of Work: They repiped our home. They made a terrible mess, caused several leaks after the drooping due to their poor workmanship and repainted without looking at the type of finish on the walls so now we have textured places on walls that had no texture. When the new leaks appeared they repaired them with no argument but we had to get the blowing fans and return them. The repairs of their mistakes took weeks added to the mess and when they were done we had dust and mess to clean up. Overall awful skills; would not use this firm again for any jobs.

It was great...I don't think Doug was so great just because I mentioned Angie's List!
Description of Work: Douglas Adair was early and even rarer a true gentleman. I walked through my concern and plumbing history with Doug and he went above and beyond explaining what I needed and IMPORTATNLY assuring me I didn’t need them! For Doug’s honesty and responses to my questions I’d recommend them to everyone needing repiping! You just don’t find honest people anymore! What a surprise (especially when another company was ready to repipe my hole house!)!

After having paid a regular plumber $1500 to fix a leak under the slab only to have another appear in 2 weeks, meaning another $1700 to fix it, I found PCCR on Angie's list and asked for a quote. I was amazed at the price relative to a succession of plumbers breaking through the slab at various places. At the appointed time, 8:30AM, 4 plumbers arrived at the door. I did a walk-through with the foreman discussing where walls were best broken to run pipes to/from the attic. By 4:30 PM they had the water back on. We had to wait through a 4-day weekend for the city inspector, but the following day 2 "wall patchers" arrived at 1:30PM. They worked to 6:30PM, fixing every break in our lath&plaster walls and stucco. Workmanship was nearly perfect. Only places where this was not so was under the sinks where they did not get the plaster very smooth. On the other hand, they did fix a wall hole in under the kitchen sink left many years ago by a regular plumber who refused to even try to close up the hole he cut. It's clear that the repiping industry has a special niche and a radically different business plan to serve it. I would advise anyone with a slab leak in an older home to call a repiper, skipping normal plumbers entirely. In fact, I found normal plumbers won't even quote on repipes because they can't compete. But they will try to sell the idea that "these leaks don't happen often. Just let me fix this one and forget about it for another 40 years." That is clearly nonesense, as you have probably a couple hundred feet of the same kind of pipe laying on the same soil that corroded through the sestion of pipe he wants to fix. I called 4 people who had used PCCR and every one had paid plumbers to fix 2 or more slab leaks before calling PCCR. All, by the way, gave PCCR the same rating I do, A. The only category I give lower than A is responsiveness, because they couldn't schedule our job to be done sooner than a week. On the other hand, that just means they are very busy which is positive rather than negative. Be clear though that they did arrive at the agreed time, precisely, to the minute. The only way they could improve their service is to include painting.
Description of Work: Complete copper re-piping of house, including service line from the meter to the house. All new fittings and appliance and fixture connectors. All patching of walls. Everything except texturing/paniting. All work was done by employees of PCCR who do nothing but repiping.

It took me a couple of days to work through the contract, because it didn't include everything we had discussed. (Not surprising as the estimator didn't make a written list while we toured. Neither did I. I recommend you make your own list as you tour with the estimator.) The estimator told me the price was a guarantee, not an "estimate," but I had them add that language in the written contract. Even so, when the inspector wanted a couple of small things done before signing off, I was told I would have to pay more. It was only $200 extra for the work additional work Pacific Coast did, and they told me I would have to add venting to the doors around the water heater. I eventually agreed to pay, but it really p***** me off. They obviously weren't trying to gouge me, but if the "guaranteed" price doesn't include something required by the inspector, it'snot really a guarantee is it? The workmen arrived exactly when they were supposed to. Very friendly and jovial. I walked the house with the foreman to discuss what I expected. For some reason, the foreman didn't write anything down, nor did he read the contract. They did not do a couple of things correctly (and did a couple things extra--again because he hadn't read the contract!) The foreman corrected the things that were done wrong that day. Also they did a decent job cleaning up after the day of installation. They also figured out the least invasive places to cut the walls. The holes in the walls have to remain until after the inspection. For reasons I no longer remember, the inspection didn't happen until Friday, but Pacific Coast came back on Saturday to plaster and patch. They did a beautiful job matching the texture in my original plaster walls.
Description of Work: Pacific Coast completely repiped my 1930, 940 sf house. In addition, they replaced my water heater, and moved and added exterior faucets. The old pipes were so bad the guys couldn't fill two buckets from different faucets at the same time! They saved a piece of pipe for me--looking through one end, you had to tip it back and forth to see a pinpoint of light at the other end.

Terrible! The company failed to get the plumbing plans approved by the county of Los Angeles before starting the job. We did not know this until the re-pipe portion of the job was finished. An inspector was not able to come out immediately to sign off his approval on the job for almost 4 weeks. The tenants were left with half off the wall exposed for the entire month! We had to call the county repeatedly to find out what when the plans would be approved. Shouldn't that be illegal? They cut corners on the exterior building patching as well. Since the job was completed I've found one shower head leak in the wall and had to replace an electrical unit in an apartment because a metal wiring casing was drilled through. This company is still costing me money.
Description of Work: We hired this company to re-pipe an 18 unit apartment building. They were one of the more expensive companies. The job was a complete headache from the start. The first step was to have a representative enter each apartment and mark on the walls in pencil where the drywall would need to be cut and opened. The markings were scribbled and not marked clearly. A sub-contractor came in to cut the walls, but they missed several cut-outs and the workers did not speak any English. This was a major communication issue due to the fact that no one from Pacific Coast was there to oversee the job being done. As a property manager I had to take charge and do their job!!

I called a plumber I have hired before. He refered me to Pacific Coast Copper Repipe because he was too busy to do the job. I was encouraged by his confidence as a professional plumber recommending a competitor. Douglas Adair came on Monday afternoon, January 18. It only took him a few minutes to see what needed to be done. He explained in detail exactly what they would do and left a brochure with detailed information and specifications. I was impressed that he included patching the walls. I believe most plumbers will only recoomend someone to patch walls. A few hours later I got the propposal by e-mail. I called him on Tuesday morning, January 19 and scheduled the work on Thursday, January 28. The plumbing crew arrived at 8:30 and got to work. They were done at 1:30. The city building inspector arrived Friday, January 29, at 9 and approved the work. Ramiro arrived to patch the walls Monday, February 18 at 8:00 and finished around 2:00. The city building inspector arrived Tuesday, February 2 at 9 and approved the work. Ramiro came back late Tuesday, February 2 and finished the stucco. I was completely satisfied.

Very easy. We scheduled about a week ahead; they did the job in two days (although on the second day all they did was to patch up the holes). Their crew was very friendly and will to explain what they were doing, and they even noted some problems with the drains etc. that they were not responsible for. They also will install any new fixtures you have, as long as they are on hand. The price was right on the estimate, even though part of our crawlspace proved much more difficult to negotiate than expected.

They completely re-piped the interior of our 2700 sq. foot house that we just bought. This house was quite old with galvanized pipe that had already started to exhibit a noticeable drop in water pressure. At least 5 guys showed up promptly at 8AM the first day to start the job and got to work immediately figuring out what pipes to put where, which pipes went to and from the water softener, and what lines fed the interior and exterior of the house. They also installed a shower head into one of the bathtubs and set up the appropriate faucet connections for upcoming renovations. I couldn't believe that they finished everything in one day. The mess initially was quite a lot and frankly a little disturbing. As another member commented, the patchwork was maybe a B in quality, but you can't really notice any problems cause I had painters come in afterward to remove wallpaper, patch any remaining defects, and paint over everything. Overall, I'm quite happy with the job and the speed of the work. The quality of the copper piping job itself was top notch as far as I could tell. One thing that was not specifically mentioned though - someone has to be there at least 3 days - on the first day to go over everything with the foreman of the 5-man crew (and point out what needs to be done), then on the second day to allow the building inspector in to look at the pipes, and a 3rd day to let the patchwork guys in. They also didn't quite get the building inspector appointment right and I had to call the city to correct the schedule myself - not really a big deal in and of itself, just a minor bump in the road. Our city building inspector also wanted to come back out after the patchwork was done to do a final sign off. They company gave me a little attitude about paying the remainder of the balance once the patchwork was done, but allowed me to give final payment once the city inspector did his second walkthrough and final sign off.

They replaced all pipes with top quality type "L" copper and replaced all valves in and out of the house with the bare minimum of drywall cuts as possible. They were able to schedule work within a week of getting a quote and they showed up right on time at 8:00 and were done with piping by 5:00 the same day. The city inspector bought off the job and within a couple of days the drywallers were able to finish up the job (minus final texture quote).
Description of Work: My house had a second slab leak so decided I had to recopper above grade the entire house. I had 2 quotes and Pacific Coast was at least 20% less .

Professional, prompt and courteous. Did a great job. Pipes in 1 day; patching 2 days later (after weekend). Excellent work and best materials. Workers all nice. When minor problems appeared after, due to higher pressure causing our old faucet to leak, they came immediately, though it was 8 pm. FOR ANY CO: Expect minor problems when new pipes give you higher pressure: A worn washer can leak, dishwasher is noisier, etc. But they addressed whatever they could. I called a plumber to fix our old washers, etc., which were worn anyway. Advice for any co: Carefully discuss with supervisor on work day the route new pipes will take; determines placement and number of holes in your walls. Would definitely work with them again. Advice: Companies that do ONLY repiping can do it in 1 day, as they did.

There is not to much to say here on this company. They did a good job. They showed up on time and they stayed out of our way while at work. They seemed to be very professional and they seemed to be very nice as well. They did not make a mess in or around my home and they cleaned up anything they might have brought along. It was a pleasant experience. Nothing outrageous happened. Just kind of an average job if you ask me. I believe this cost me around $700 or so.

I don't know if the piping was done well or not because I'm not a plumber, but the quality of the patching and plastering was terrible! I had them come back to sand the plaster a second time, and you can still see every place in the wall where the wall was badly patched. They even left drips of plaster on the moldings. The plasterers were surly too! The second terrible thing is that two years after the repiping, one of my water heaters sprung a leak. After calling a plumber on a Sunday, I found out that it was the connectors from the water heater to the pipe that Pacific Coast had installed that had failed. They used cheap connectors that didn't last two years. After checking the other three water heaters, my plumber found that two others were about to fail! I was thinking of using this company again and had gotten an estimate that weekend, but instead I threw it away!

I FOUND THIS COMPANY TO BE HONEST AND COMMITTED TO ME AND THE WORK THEY WERE DOING FOR ME. THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETELY RE-PIPE MY HOUSE IN ONE DAY WHICH MINIMIZED THE AMOUNT OF TIME I NEEDED TO TAKE OFF WORK. I WAS A BIT BUMMED THAT IT TOOK 1-1/2 WEEKS TO GET THE HOLES PATCHED IN MY WALLS SO I COULD FINISH THE JOB.
