Haven Air Conditioning

The person who came down to do the job was very professional and very knowledgeable. He was prompt and was flexible with our schedule. We just wanted to get the work done before we brought our baby home. The work turned out very well. He answered all our question and wasn't pushy. He went through and gave us different options and helped us decide on what we wanted to get done. I have already recommended him to my sister.

He was reliable and his quote was thorough. He did everything that he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it. He was cheaper than the other quotes we got. So far we haven’t had any problems with the quality.

They were fantastic. I originally called to get an estimate on just cleaning the air ducts. However, during the inspection I was informed the work couldn't be done because the furnace had been recalled 15+ years ago, and needed to be replaced. I was, of course, suspicious. However, without asking, Nick provided me with a photograph of my attic heating unit, with the model and serial number and advised me to verify it was on the recall list. It was, and the company had gone out of business over 15 years ago after paying out a class action lawsuit brought by home owners whose houses had burned due to the heater. I verified every piece of equipment he recommended and compared prices on what was to be done. Long story short, Nick gave me an excellence price for the replacement equipment which included replacing all the ducting (my request, not his), removing and replacing the original heater, replacing all the vents, and installing a new return. They were always on time, work rapidly, and were meticulous about cleaning up. I would highly recommend them and I am sorry I have not gotten around to writing this review before. He is the only contractor or appraiser who caught the furnace issue. This includes the people that evaluated the condition of the house when we bought it with the furnace that had already been recalled without our knowledge.

Andres and Maria were great. I had a problem with my furnace which was quickly and inexpensively repaired. I decided to have the ducts cleaned which revealed problems which Andres showed and explained to me prior to repairing. He also evaluated my a/c system and told me I did not need anything done. I waited to write this review until I had seen how the system worked in both summer and winter. I am very happy. I have recommended Mighty Ducts to three friends.

Our dryer vent isn't on an exterior wall so the vent goes under the home and a couple of twists and turns along the way. Called and was able to schedule a same day service. No additional emergency fees, friendly people and they guy showed up later that afternoon. It was all done quickly. I just didn't have the right tools to do it myself. I got an invoice emailed and then a paid receipt copy by email as well. Will very likely use them again for the air ducts in the future.

They were very personable and reachable if we had any questions or concerns. If we needed anything adjusted on the work they did, they were willing to call us back and come back to get it taken care of. We haven’t had any problems with the air conditioner after they took care of it.

I wanted to make sure to get a company that was HVAC licensed and C20 licensed as well as licensed in a few other areas. I wanted a legitimate, professional company. I also wanted to make sure they vacuumed deep inside the vents and rotor them out with a brush instead of doing just the tips for a more complete job. I also learned that some companies say they will do your whole house for around $100, but they really don’t do a thorough job and they really check out the air conditioner and furnace to make a sale on the air conditioner and furnace. The air duct work is a way to get their foot in the door. I hired Mighty Ducts since they were highly rated on Angie’s List. They did a fabulous job. They were on time, neat, cleaned up everything, and were very professional men. They were very personable. They were so considerate of two terrified cats. They made sure the doors were kept shut so the cats would not get out and were kept in the right room. There is no carpet or flooring in the home currently since it is being renovated. The cats get scared when there is a lot of a loud noise; they even tried to walk softly so they wouldn’t scare the cats. The frosting on the cake was how amazingly considerate they were of the two terrified cats and how they kept the door shut so the cats would not run way. One of the men was even nice to the neighbor’s dog and calmed the dog down so he would stop barking.

Their service was very good. I was happy with their service. The technician was very knowledgeable. He knew how much Freon to put in and how to monitor the system.

it Made an appointment with Marie by phone. Marie was friendly and professional, asked a number of questions to evaluate the amount of work to be done and provided an estimate based on the number of vents (including the air intake vent). She also estimated that the work might take five or six hours based on the number of vents that we counted. The two man crew arrived on time and began work immediately. The two men were polite, professional, tidy and did a very good job cleaning up after the work was done. The furnace was in the attic and was cleaned and tested; no repairs were needed. All vents were opened and cleaned. The two men then snaked a special hose from the trailer to the vent system and carefully cleaned each one of the vents. After hearing about my wife's asthma, one of the crew recommended a higher MERV rating for the filter. He also noted that the current filter was too small and specified the right size for the intake vent and wrote it on our invoice. They didn't have a proper sized filter with the higher MERV rating with them, but installed a smaller one as an interim filter. All in all, everything went well. The invoice was for the estimated amount, $700, and it took five hours to complete the work. However, I later found two big negatives that reduced their credibility. FIRST, I bought some new filters at the higher MERV rating and at the size the crew specified, but found that the size was completely wrong. When I tried to install the new filter (replacing the interim one), it turns out the length was too short by a few inches and the width was too wide by a few inches. I would have expected that they would have actually measured and sprecified the right size. The SECOND negative occurred when I tried to replace the interim filter - it turns out that they installed it upside down. Since I could not use the new (wrong-sized) filter, I simply turned the interim filter over so that the actual air flow matched the arrow on the filter. I would still use this company again and would recommend them to others, but be much more careful about accepting recommendations.

I called 4 companies to find one that could repair my heating duct that had become disconnected and a section of which had fallen to the floor of my basement. Three of the companies quoted me around $3,000 to replace all my ducts. They claimed that the work was hazardous due to the fact that the ducts were old and were insulated with asbestos However, Mighty Ducts quoted $400 to replace the one duct that had fallen down, which is exactly what I wanted. Two workers came out. They carefully removed the asbestos covered duct, removed it from my home, replaced it with a new duct, and completed their work in about 1-1/2 hours. I am very pleased with their work! The other companies were only interested in replacing all of the ducts.

Wow, wow, wow! One of the most amazing contractors I have ever hired. I am just so happy to have found Andreas and Mighty Ducts. We bought a large old home and got estimates from 4 HVAC contractors for a new system. Andreas at Mighty Ducts came out for his estimate and just blew me away with his knowledge, energy, and honesty. He's the type of person that you instantly know you can trust. The Mighty Ducts estimate was the 2nd lowest estimate and Andreas and his team did the installation within my very tight time frame and they were the ONLY contractors of our remodel (we hired plumbers, electricians, construction, landscaping, etc) to do the work at the agreed upon price without coming back to ask for more money halfway through the project. Andreas is up front about everything and I would never do another HVAC project with any other company. If you go with Mighty Ducts you will not be disappointed.

The two young men who were here were very nice, very professional and very efficient. They cleaned the ducts beautifully.

We had the dumb luck of having our AC condenser fail on a Thursday afternoon, late in day. On Friday morning, I started making some calls for availability knowing that success would most like mean a Monday appointment. After a few calls, I was able to get a that appointment but I decided to make a few more. Much to my surprise, Mighty Ducts said that they would try to get out the same day. That didn't happen, but they were here first thing Saturday morning. As happy as I was, I also knew that the hard part was next. Andres quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced a solenoid. That's it. He told me he was prepared to replace the motor but besides having unit a bit past it's prime, we were in good shape and that wasn't needed. We talked for a bit afterwards and he asked for our business relationship to continue. Andreas went about talking about my family's AC/Heating needs in a good way. I will definitely be calling these guys back for my service needs and when we start looking at the cost for a new system.

A/C not cooling during a week of sweltering heat. Called several companies but none were available for at least a week. Finally, talked to Marie, who said they could be here the next day. Andreas came out, detected a leak, and recharged the refrigerant. We could not be more happy both with the service and the professionalism.

Our air ducts have been needing a cleaning for some time and when our air conditioner stopped providing cold air it was time to call in someone to take care of both. The duct cleaning was completed in about 4 hours with no mess left behind. The airflow which we have now is a great improvement and those in the house hold with asthma have been able to tell a difference in the air quality. Our air conditioner had been apparently leaking coolant for some time due to a faulty valve installed by the previous owners of the house. The AC had run dry and needed to have a new valve installed. All repairs and recharging of the system were taken care of quickly and professionally.

I recently had contract/home improvements done to my house and thought it might be good to have my ducts cleaned of all of the construction dust. I looked at various companies on Angie's List as well as some of the daily deals offered. I decided on Mighty Ducts because they appeared to have the best and most thorough process, though not the cheapest. I called in mid-July to schedule. Their first open date wasn't till the end of August but they told me they would call if something opened up ealier. They followed up with me twice in the coming weeks. Once to let me know there weren't any openings but they were still monitoring and a second time when an earlier date was available which we scheduled on. On the scheduled date, the workers arrived at around the agreed upon time and completed their work in a satisfactory manner. The process was very thorough. Each duct was covered while a vacuum was attached to the main HVAC opening. You could see the suction force with which the vaccum was cleaning the ducts as the each cover was firmly "sucked" on. They than removed one cover at a time and stuck a rotary brush through each duct opening. The workers were courteous and answered any/all questions I had about my duct work. They were a pleasure to deal with and I would recommend them to others as well as use them again myself.

They came in one days notice, the two young men showed up on time and listened to my concerns . They cleaned all the ducts, vents and sanitized. They worked non stop for 4 hours, very conscience of my need for privacy as I work from home. The price was exactly as quoted on the phone. I will definitely call them again.

They replaced a 3" water heater pipe with a new 4" without having to dig into walls or bringing in roofers. Very happy with them!

We bought a new dryer when we moved to our new house and it was taking way too long to dry our clothes. It was a hassle to take so long to do laundry and we were concerned about having a fire hazard. Because of the safety concerns, I scheduled service as soon as possible even though I only had an hour and a half for the service to be completed before an appointment. Marie was very friendly scheduling the appointment and assured me that the work could be completed in that amount of time. Matt was right on time, called to confirm arrival time, and was extremely efficient and courteous, completing the work in less than an hour. He cleaned out a lot of dog hair (the previous owners of our house had a dog), and determined that the vent cap we had was restricting the air flow. He explained all the work he did and went over what we need to look out for to make sure the vent continues to work properly. He took great care to keep our house clean - wearing booties over his shoes every time he came into the house. Our dryer now works like a charm - it takes about a quarter of the time it did before for the clothes to dry! Thanks, Matt! I would highly recommend Mighty Ducts and plan to call them again in a year to keep our dryer vent functioning safely. Also plan to call them when we are ready to get our air ducts cleaned.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. They will be the only company I and my family use from here on out.

Having taken pictures of our attic before the house was complete, I did not think it was likely anything could be done to eliminate the hot and cold spots in our upstairs. The attic space was 12" to 18" from the ceiling to the roof line, and packed with can lights and electrical and existing ducts. Andreas and Matt not only specified what additional supplies and returns would rectify the problem, miraculously they they installed these with NO drywall work needed afterwards. I was amazed as I didn't think that would be possible. The system is whisper quiet now, and is working the way it should have from the start. Andreas understands HVAC from a detailed, technical level- as an engineer would. He also rectified a clunk sound on startup. There are a lot of HVAC contractors our there that can replace a compressor- but if you need someone that understands how air flows in a house, and where ducts should be to provide even coverage without rushing air- Andreas is your guy. I recommend him without hesitation.
