They (Frank and Jean) were fantastic. They came out right away. Were professonial and had better quotes than others.

They were there the next day (it wasn't an emergency, just inconvenient), on time with no problem. The man who came was very knowledgeable and took care of the issue right away. He told us about some other potential problems in the future that we should keep an eye on and some things we could do to avoid them. They did great work and were very professional. Since our house is nearly 100 years old, I suspect we'll be using them again!

Well, the issue I had was not the work, it was the fact I couldn't get the information regarding their hourly rate. They came in, bid the job and that was it. I thought the bid was high and the fix was easy. I had them fix the one toilet the the other toilet started working correctly, even though they said the flap had to be replace, but not only the flap but the whole darn mechanism. They said they had to order it but after they put the toilet back together, it was working perfectly and has since. I asked them about their hourly rate again and they said it was $250 per hour which I thought was exorbitant. They said that Jim Diamond was much more expensive.

Gabriel was very professional and explanatory. He identified what was wrong with our sewer and laid out all of our options. Our sewer line was broken in several areas due to root intrusion. With the new sleeve/liner my root problems went away, Thank God! These guys at Barker and Sons really know their stuff. Great work, professionalism, price, neatness, etc.

Will was the plumber/technician who arrived and did the job.  He was cordial, communicative and thorough.  I was very pleased.  Tho the price may be slightly above the cheapo offers, I would recommend this company.

Gabriel was highly professional and efficient. He explained everything clearly and performed the service exactly as he said. He left the area just as he found it.

They are just very professional and very conscientious. They were clean, as far as cleaning up after themselves. They were also timely. If they were late, they always would call and let you know ahead of time. They were just very good. We just liked their professionalism, so we went with that price. It seemed a little pricey for us, but plumbing is very expensive.

Patiently explained my options on whether I should just go through a maintenance effort, drain the water heater, etc. My water heater was almost 11 years old and I was not getting sufficient hot water during showers plus the water pressure was low. The decision to get a new water heater was the right decision; water is hot and pressure is dramatically increased.

We were not getting any hot water so called Barker & Sons after finding them in Angie's List.  Office person was very personable and Gabriel arrived within hours of our call.  Looked over the problem and gave us estimates for replacement options.   We went with the products we had been researching on the internet.  The next day Gabriel and assistant arrived right at time specified and began work. They removed and took away the tankless, which should have been called "thankless" (nightmare for 4 years!).  Got dark early and began to get very cold.   Turned all the utilities back on until the next day.  They arrived early next day and completed the work within a few hours.  Cleaned everything before they left. VERY professional.  The office followed up with a phone call to make sure everything had been completed to our satisfaction.  We are now very happy campers with hot water on demand, improved water pressure, cleaner faucets (tankless allows mineral deposits to come through)  and love our absolutely new system.  We would recommend Barton and Sons to any and all!

We called to fix toilet plunger.  They ordered the parts to repair it, but they said the parts were more expensive than a new toilet.  They said the problem was from hard water and needed a water softener.  He looked at another toilet and said it had the same problem.  They recommended that we replace toilets and get a water softener.  They said we would never have a problem in the future.  We went to Costco and they sent a water softener expert and he said the water was fine.  We called back and canceled the water softener.  They had already replaced the second toilet and it was $785 to be installed.  He fixed the original toilet.  When he left he said he needed to check the pressure regulator and it was too high.  He said it would be $500.  But we found someone to replace it for $200.  If we had used them it would have been $5000.  I feel I was not told the truth about the water softener and purchased a toilet, we didn't need.  He said there was a leak, that we didn't have.  I would hate to see anyone else pulled in like this.

I could not be happier with the service provided by Gabriel of Barker & Sons.  We were suffering from a sewer backup, just before Christmas, and needed service immediately.  Gabriel came out right away only to discover that the backup was not caused by a clog but actually by a cable company line running right through my sewer line.  Gabriel helped coordinate with local city officials and the cable company to have the repairs (including lining the old pipe to make sure that any other cracks along the sweer line were fixes) were done quickly.  Gabriel also installed a new hot water heater (not related to sewer problem) on Christmas Eve.  I did not price shop so I do not have anything to compare their prices to.

I purchased a dishwasher but when it was delivered the man who was going to install it said my water valve was frozen and I needed a plumber to fix it before he could continue with the installation.  I called Barker and Sons Plumbing, explained the situation, and they sent someone out in less than an hour!  They didn't charge me any extra fee for it either.  The job was done quickly, the plumber was very professional, and I now have my new dishwasher installed.  This company is great - great service, great price, and great knowledge.

They showed up on a Saturday, the same day I called, and helped fix a leaky toilet and had to reroute something in the A/C. A pipe was sticking out onto the drywall over a window and causing rust stains on the wall. He removed the pipe and fixed the path of the water in the A/C so there was no need for the pipe! l'm not using correct language, but I'm not a plumber! They were super nice and fast! We have used them several times since and are now our go-to plumber! I felt the price of the service matched the quality of their service. I felt they were very fair and that is why we keep using them!

Gabriel provided estimates for various outcomes. The repair was quick and well done.

I was contacted by the owner, who was very fair & very professional & was concerned about my interaction with his employee.He offered to totally refund the charges in question as a gesture of goodwill. This was more than acceptable to me culminating in a marked improvement in my satisfaction with his services.

Frank called before he arrived. He was very helpful in diagnosing leak problems. He also painted a hinge install not to code and causing waste water collection under toilet.

Frank called ahead to tell me arrival time. He was very knowledgeable and explained what he was doing. He provided very good information about the water heater and answered questions about water softeners.

Had an old water heater that broke. Called Barker and sons and got same day service. Joseph came out within 2 hours and gave me a quote on a new water heater, drained and removed the old unit while Gabriel returned a few hours later and installed the new one. Both technicians were great and really know their stuff. Especially when dealing with older homes and galvanized pipes!
I would recommend both Joseph and Gabriel to anyone who needs plumbing help! They are the best!

The first company to come out that day came prepared to go under the house carrying his coveralls and a powerful flashlight and had an assistant come too.  The crawl space for this house is located inside a bedroom closet making it a narrow fit to enter.  Chris made a joke of it and said he is glad he did not eat that extra hamburger.  While he was under the house looking at everything he was feeding information back to his assistant to write down so that he could give me a better estimate once he got back to the office.
The second company to come out that morning was Barker and Sons.  Their estimater, Gabriel, was a larger man who told me he did not have to go under the house to see anything, he could just base the estimate on number of bathrooms, etc.  His size had nothing to do with it as my tenant and his two grown sons are taller and wider than the estimater and they have entered into the crawl space for other repairs.
Gabriel did lie down on the bedroom floor and stick his head in the opening and with a flash light looked around from on top of the crawl space.  I had told Gabriel what the other company had said needed to be done and so with that information he said he would give me the estimate right then and there.  He started to write my name and information and start the estmate, but then said he would e-mail it to me that day .
I was busy the next few days setting up two more estimates from Angie's List.  On 09/14 I called and left a phone message around 3:30pm with  Barker and Sons (a week later) to see what happened to the estimate.  A man named Mike called me back around 6:30 pm and said he would check on it first thing Monday morning and get that estimate out to me via e-mail for which I gave him my e-mail address again.
I never heard back from them, I just wish they would have given me the courtesy to call or e-mail me and say they did not want to do the job.
I went ahead and hired the first company that came out and they are starting this coming week.  The start date was only delayed because of stuff on my end, otherwise they were ready to start within a week of my approving them for the job.
