He did a great job explaining the process to me as well as where the errors in my system are and how I can go about fixing them. He also set up an appointment that day with another associate from their company to give me options for upgrading my system. He also told me not to put anymore money into our current AC unit as it would be a waist of money.

Dave, the technician that came out was here exactly on time. He looked at the thermostat and the heater and quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad bearing in the inducer motor. I know a little about the heater and how it works and was impressed with the fact that when he explained the problem, I knew he wasn't just trying to sell me something additional that I didn't need. He was really helpful in providing advice on the type of filter I should be using and how often it should be changed. Turns out I have been using a filter that is more expensive than I need. The replacement part came in a day earlier than anticipated and Dave was back again, on time and installed the new motor.

Both the subcontractor Sirrus Abatement and Associated Heating and AC were prompt fast and efficient. My annoyances are with the salesman, the lack of paperwork, and the price. The salesman persuaded us to get rid our asbestos ducts, as we could not find a anyone to repair them. I repeatedly asked him what the new ducts were made of, and the salesman always answered "mylar" and that they look like shiny aluminum. Actually they are fiberglass. Now, fiberglass is not carcinogenic like asbestos but it does irritate sensitive people, like asbestos, if the ducts are compromised. His main selling point was how irritating asbestos is. Also he gave us a "l ifetime guarantee" and said it was for our personal lifetimes. I questioned this and he assured me that is what it meant, though he offered to write 20 years on the paperwork, which unfortunately I declined. I asked the salesman if the cost is calculated based on the number of linear feet of duct they will use, and he said no it was based on the number of vents, and we had 10 so it would be a flat rate of $3995. He assured us anyone else would charge at least $5995.
The job itself went very smoothly and professionally. Associated HAC's workers are first rate in every way. But at the end after I paid, I received no paperwork, no warranty, no contract, nothing. Later in the mail, a got in voice that just said paid in full, with no further info. The only reason I know they installed 138 feet of duct is from a map of the house they made that one installer threw in my outdoor trash barrel. Another thing is that they did not have time to fully tune the dampers and they told me to call to make an appointment to have that done.
I trusted this company based on their perfect rating with Angie's list, but the "lifetime" guarantee, the lack of paperwork, and the high cost ($30 per linear foot for ordinary fiberglass ducts seems very high, correct me if I am wrong) left me a little uneasy.

Called this provider because they were the first available during the last heat wave to look at my A/C unit. Tech arrived on time and tried to service my condenser unit. Tried several things to fix it but could not get the condenser to run. Finally gave up and said that my fairly new unit would have to be totally replaced. I declined and called another provider for a second opinion. The new provider inspected the condenser unit and told me he could fix it easily and it certainly would not have to be replaced. He even showed me where the first contractor had probably mixed up the wiring, allowed the freon to escape, and caused other problems. Unit operates fine now. I would definitely not hire this contractor for anything.

They were highly qualified. They had to crawl in my attic in the crawl space, which was very very hot. They were polite and worked really hard. They went above and beyond the call of duty.

Bill was courteous, professional and most of all knew what he was doing. A little late arrival, but problem with dead air conditioner was quickly resolved. Price for capacitor seemed a bit high, but overall the bill was fair. Nice to have the air back online. Made appointment in the morning fixed by end of day. Others called couldn't make it out for 3 days.

My air conditioner stopped working and so I called them ... on a Saturday and they came the same day and 3 hours earlier than they told me at first, which was great because it was really hot. It was just my capacitor and they replaced that. The guy who did the repair was super nice.

It was probably around 7:30 we called because no one had shown up (spoke to a recording). Very shortly thereafter my husband received a call from Adrian that he would be here in about 20 minutes. He showed up and got the heater thermostat and heater working for us (it was wired incorrectly by us). My husband was very impressed with Adrian. I was very impressed that he was still working so late. We are thrilled to have the thermostat and heater working again.

After 21 years, it was finally time to replace my central air. The condenser was extremely loud and the airflow sub-par. My neighbors across the street did a thorough search and decided to go with Associated Heating and Air based on the system they offered, the price, and reviews. They were extremely happy with it, and the installation. A month later, my other neighbors installed the same system with the same company. Based on this, I decided to do the same.
I called Associated Air and Heating to schedule a quote appointment. The typical sales person came out, tried to sell me on a more expensive system (basically doing his job), but I settled on the same one my neighbors had installed. We scheduled the installation. This is where the magic happened. The two installers showed up on time. Both were very nice, very professional, extremely competent. They removed the old system, cleaned everything underneath and proceeded to install the new system. They replaced the exhaust duct, cut new piping, and wrapped everything up professionally. I very much appreciated their eye for detail (I'm a product designer myself) and the final product looked like a catalog cover. They cleaned up their mess, loaded the old system up, installed a new thermostat, and took me through operating the system and maintenance. Everything went perfect.
One week later, I received a follow-up from their company to see how everything went and if I was totally satisfied. Needless to say, I was. Great company, great installers. I'd highly recommend them. In fact, I just gave their card to my other neighbor.

Associated Heating & Air are very professional, they got the job done. They did miss a couple of minor things that were of no real consequence. I will keep using them and I have been using them now for 2-3 years, they replaced my central heating and air system 2 or 3 years ago.

I read about rebates from Southern California Edison and found a list of installers that were approved by SCE. I contacted Associated and 3 other contractors and liked the quote that I received from Associated. I decided on a Lennox furnace and air conditioner to replace our 33 year old Lennox air conditioner which just died. After reading reviews on Angie's List about Associated, I saw that I could purchase through Costco and still have Associated do the installation.
I contacted Associated and Costco and had the quote rewritten such that the purchase was from Costco. Doing this saved about $400.00. The savings is in the form of a Costco Gift Card and 3% back on the purchase in rebates from American Express and the Costco Executive Membership.
The air conditioner is a 5 ton rated at 14 SEER. I had a furnace installed that has a dc motor which is supposed to be 331/3% more efficient because I wanted to be able to run the furnace fan continuously at lower cost than my old furnace. The furnace combined with the air conditioner and condenser is rated at 15 SEER. The cost from Associated is just a little more than a 13 SEER Lennox system quoted by another contractor.
The installation took the two installers a whole day. They removed my old furnace and air conditioner. The new air conditioner was relocated around to the side of the house from under our kitchen window. All furnace registers were replaced with bar type which are adjustable horizontally. A second return air register was to be installed but it was determined that there were pipes and studs blocking most of the space where it would be installed. Instead we decided to make the existing return register 12" longer. This longer register was not a standard stock item and had to be ordered. The opening was cut out for the new register and a new 36" register was installed leaving a 12" open space. Two weeks later the new 48" long register was installed. A new digital thermostat was also installed.
The installers were very professional and very polite. They did a very good job and left no mess or debris. They used drop cloths inside the house when they replaced the registers and vacuumed up any dirt or plaster chips from the replacing the registers.
Associated Heating pulled a permit for this work and included the cost in the quote. All other contractors indicated that they would not pull permits, but that I could do that if I wanted to. If they were to be at the site when the inspector came to sign off on the work, then that cost would be extra. Associated Heating is taking responsibility for scheduling the inspection by the city and having one of their people at my house when the inspection is performed.
The furnace and air conditioner work better than my old system.

There is always someone to talk to when I call the office. The staff is friendly and courteous and easy to work with.
