The estate sale was handled in a very professional manner and we managed to sell quite a bit of belongings that we no longer needed. The sale was advertised in local newspaper and Craigslist as well as on their website. They also put out signs during the two days of the sale. The only negative was that most of the antiques did not sell and had to be moved to their store in Alameda where they could be shown in a more favorable light. We were very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of Lynn's. They do a number of estate sales and know how to stage them properly. They have a pretty good idea of what items will sell for and what is in fashion and what isn't.
Description of Work: Lynn's Antiques held an estate sale at our property in Lafayette over a two day period. They also moved antiques that did not sell to their store in Alameda.

I have been a regular patron of Lynn's Antiques for many years. This is a family business that has been in Alameda for 50 years. I have found the owner Debra to be very friendly, kind and knowledgeable of antiques. She even kindly helped me sort through some jewelry when I was overwhelmed with the task of going through my parents' estate. I have purchased many items from them in the past, from both their estate sales and their store. I have also consigned many things over the years and have been pleased with the sales. I have never had any negative experiences with the staff. It is not easy to be in the antique business and it is impossible to please everyone. One person's junk is another person's treasure!

Lynn's owners and staff (Debra, her son David and associate Monte) did a wonderful job and are still hard at work, wrapping up the last few details. They came into the home and inventoried, organized and valued all personal property, from the smallest item to the largest piece of furniture, even handling sale of an auto. There was no cost to the estate for any of their services, as Lynn's is compensated from sale proceeds, on a sliding scale based upon total value of the personal property. At the sale's conclusion, Debra provided us with a complete inventory of all personal property and its sale price, along with a check payable to the estate. Things couldn't have gone more smoothly, for me or for my clients. Over the 3 days of the on-site sale, they were able to completely liquidate all personal property at good prices, leaving the home completely empty, clean and ready for its sale. Those items without significant intrinsic value were taken away for donation. They even arranged for hauling of a small amount of trash. A couple of items, which they felt would benefit more from online sale, were taken back to their Alameda store, where they're now being marketed and sold. They advertised the estate auto on-line and were able to generate multiple offers, allowing the family to make a selection from among them. They're even taking care of meeting with the car's new owner, to complete registration, including seeing to it the car passes smog. In addition to their efficiency, Lynn's staff showed much appreciated sensitivity to the family, coming in a few days before the public sale, to allow extended family to preview and purchase momentos from the estate in privacy. Their communication level was exceptional, throughout all stages of the sale, from preparation through completion. I unhesitatingly recommend Debra and her associates, to anyone facing disposition of personal property, as part of an estate liquidation.
Description of Work: I'm a Realtor, who specializes in the sale of estate real property, where the homeowner has passed on and the heirs are selling the home. Part of the service I offer my clients, is coordinating disposition of personal property, so the home can be marketed and sold. Lynn's of Alameda are professional antique dealers, but also are experienced with managing sale of personal property for estates. Recently, I contacted them, to manage the sale of all personal property in an estate in Alamo, CA.
