We initially had them in to fix up our concrete floors. The floors are colored concrete that has been scored and polished to look like tile. They have never looked good because the previous owners at some point resealed the floors without cleaning them first. There was dirt trapped in the grooves and on the "tiles" so that the floor always looked dirty, but almost nothing I did to clean them (chemical treatments, commercial cleaning products, etc.) worked. Only two things worked: One: a rotary tool with a sanding drum cleaned out the scoring nicely but wore out drum really fast--it would have taken 50 drums to clean all the scoring; Two: a paste made of straight baking soda and bleach and a LOT of elbow grease. Using this paste, I managed to clean small patches of the floor (and removing the sealer in the process), but didn't have the energy to do the whole house that way. So when Gabe from Rojo's said they could strip and reseal for $1.25 a square foot, I was delighted. I explained all of the above to him and showed him the spots I had "cleaned" and then the ones where the dirt was trapped. The workers were prompt, communicative, and professional, but I was disappointed with the results. Although the floors gleamed with the new sealer coat, all the trapped dirt was still there. I called Gabe, and he came right over. I asked why they had not stripped the floors before they resealeld. He said they had. It turned out that "stripping" meant washing with a heavy duty cleanser. It did NOT mean removing the removing the original sealer. He said that no company does that anymore, because the chemicals required are banned by OSHA. I have not idea if that's true or not. I was very annoyed that he did not explain this when we were discussing the trapped dirt. Gabe offered to take 50% off the bill, which I accepted. So I can't say I was happy with the result, and I'm still annoyed that Gabe did not communicate better, but I am satisfied with the resolution. (I am also annoyed that he didn't explain during the original estimate that they wouldn't be moving appliances or large furniture. We have a large wall unit on wheels, and if I hadn't happened to stop in while the workers were there and showed them they could roll it out of the way, they would have just left it in place and worked around it.) Rogo's also did a concrete overlay in a bedroom that had been carpeted. It turned out gorgeous, and exactly as expected. Gabe met me at the showroom to select the color mix I wanted and worked with me to get it exactly right. The upshot is, Rogo's worked hard to make me happy, but my feelings are mixed. I have given up on "cleaning" the original concrete floors, and when I have the $$$, I will have Rojo's do an overlay concrete as well. It will be expensive ($4/sq ft), but I am sure they will do a great job.

Most companies we contacted responded immediately and then came out to the house within two or three days to give an estimate; except Rogo's. It took almost a month to hear from Rogo's about our estimate and they never did come out. From the time our inquiry went out to the time we heard back via phone from Rogo's was almost 30 days. The work was already completed at that time.

Two words: Rushed job. Cracks, chips, scratches, and scuffs very easily (easier to scratch then the walls). Colors requested not provided; inconsistent coloring, and touch up painting required all over the house. The main goal seemed get out around 2pm each day and take Friday off. The onsite manager spoke very little english and was on the cell phone a lot (our neighbors even commented on it). For those who are unfamiliar with finished concrete floors, there is a lot of versatility and looks available. It can be very eye catching and unique when first viewed. However, after seeing it for a while, that wears off and the quality of the product is all that is left. Well, the quality is poor. Easily damaged: I'm no expert but think the main reason is from not stripping the original sealer. The worker's kneepads was scratching it up. The touchup jobs done were horrible. Rogo's did repaint the worst areas. Fortunately we do not have large dogs whose nails would just shred it. They ended up using more sealer and used 2 different types. The second sealer seams more durable, but is super high gloss and scuff extremely easy. Color: we selected 3 colors at the showroom (a mix of 3 colors)which were supposed to be viewed onsite during the day. These samples were not shown on site and two others were (only a mix of 2 colors). Beacuse Rogo's moved the timeline up, we only viewed them in the evening. The estimator came by in the evening and were were pressured to select. We caved. Hair: the amount of the hair and even strings sealed into the floor is incredible. They sweep the floor at the begninng of the day, but need to do so again before they seal. The rags used may have contributed. Border: a border between the existing concrete and new concrete was not initially done. I felt like I had to push for it to get done. Communication: the onsite boss, despite working for a stated 18 years, does not know english very well. When Rogo's came back to do repair work/add the above border, there were 4 items written on a work order to do. He stated he didn't have the work order but knew what to do. When I asked what, he turned it around and asked me what was on the work order. I stated 3 of the 4. He smiled and said that's what he'll do. I then provided the 4th item. Touchup painting: they are very upfront that they don't do touch up painting. Considering that we had the baseboards off, we where amazed how much retouching is required (tub, dishwasher, doors, walls, and even the ceiling of the shower area). This isn't including the concrete splattered on an outside window & wall. At the end, we were worn down and just wanted them out of the house. After talking to others, our experience is not unique. Exapmle: In the shower area, they wanted to concrete over the existing tiles...sounded like a bad idea and we said no. After hearing someone's experience with Rogo's concreting over a tile floor, we know it is.

Everyone at the company, from the estimator to the workmen were very professional and helpful. They were very willing to work with us to "tweak" the exact pattern and colors as they were doing the work. "Could you darken this color, please?" The friendly workmen really cared about giving us what we wanted, and the end result is outstanding.
