They are very good, they came right out. I thought it was the thermostat but it was the motor. They ordered it and came out within 3 days to put it in. It worked out just fine. They were right on time. They put in the furnace to begin with so I'd call them anytime.

I have been using this company for a long time. The crew is very knowledgeable and does a thorough job cleaning out your unit. I appreciate the fact that they will give you advice on how to maintain you equipment. In an emergency type situation in the past they were able to respond quickly and remedy the situation for me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

A retired contractor, who fixed the water pressure back to normal in my kitchen, looked at the installation job of the monster furnace, informing me it was unsafe ad against code. He referred me to the Registrar of Contractors and the City Inspector's offices, suggesting to first call the City Inspector. When I called the City Inspector, he immediately informed e there had been no permit pulled for the job. I was shocked. He told me if he sent one of his inspectors, I would be responsible for any code violations ad the expense to fix them. He referred me to the Registrar of Contractors to file a complaint against Perry's license. I called the ROC and was instructed to fill out a detailed complaint with the paperwork mailed to me. I filled out the paperwork with every detailed complaint and faxed it to the ROC. Perry sent out what was referred as and quot;his bestand quot; employees, who installed smaller Rheem, made the entire installation up to code - even making changes to the water heater. The next step was the City's inspection, which immediately failed Perry's Heating and Cooling for not having double piping put on the roof and because of a 2006 code, stating the there needs to be enough room to remove the hot water heater without first having to remove the furnace. At no time did Perry Heating and Cooling give me a choice of furnaces and the specifics of each type. The owner, Alphonso de la Riva, told me they were trying to give me a deal on the larger Trane because a previous owner of a 22,000 sq. ft. home had reconsidered the type of furnace to be installed. If that were true, why did his rep offer me a choice between Trane or Rheem? He also denied he had given instruction to duct tape the kitchen faucet, when I discussed it with the ROC during the inspection. When given notice they had failed the inspection by the city for the double venting ad the door needing to be widened to satisfy the 2006 code, Alphonso de la Riva was angry, asking me to fax him the report; he had never before heard of that code. He did send a subcontractor to install a new door. The subcontractor was rude, did a sloppy job and cut into the carpet without asking or notifying me. The carpet had nothing to do with the ease of opening the door. He was going to leave the door so that it was difficult to open, demonstrating how to open it. He had to force and manhandle the door to open it. I became so angry at that point. I called the ROC ad the City Inspector at that time. The subcontractor had refused to give his contractor license number, telling me to call Perry's if I had a complaint. He did fix the door so that it could be opened at that time. Both the ROC and the City Inspector advised me to let him finish ad then have the following inspection. When trying to open the door at a later date, it would not open, scratching off the brown paint the subcontractor had laid on it. My guess is the door came from a contractor's scrap yard somewhere. I have since filed another addendum to the complaint with the ROC. Mr. de la Riva has already complained to the City Inspector about having to redo the door. He is obligated to take care of it by Aug 2, when the ROC will inspect. Then the City inspector will inspect. Hopefully, that will be the end of this company in my life. The ordeal began in Dec 2010. I have since decided to upgrade to air conditioning, finding out that the 3-ton motor in the Rheem furnace will not accommodate a variable speed high efficiency unit. Anyone out there in the market for a Rheem furnace? Brand new, hardly ever used? I am going to have to replace it to install an air conditioning system suitable for me, but will donate the furnace and the Master Cool Evaporative cooler to a needy organization serving the disabled and elderly. This has been a learning experience for a first-time home owner. Never again will I assume a company with an A+ rating on the BBB is necessarily adequate or professional. They knew the codes and that they needed a permit. It is their responsibility to go over those items in discussing the contract. If they had been upfront and honest with me from the beginning, the permit would have been my expense, as well as any codes needing upgrading. I have been very careful choosing the company who will do the air conditioning, referred by a friend's testimonial of the company's professionalism. I also interviewed another company who claimed to be the best in Southern Arizona. After looking at Angie's list, it s apparent that is not true. In either case, the air conditioning cannot be installed until this case is closed with the ROC and the City Inspector's offices. Time from work or days off to take care of this, and the expense of replacing the system and the door are a great inconvenience. The stress and energy for patience is unsurmountable. Never have Perry Heating and Cooling - Tucson AZ and surrounding area.

Perry scheduled the subcontractor to come fix the door between 11A and 1P on Aug 1. He did not arrive. My job starts at 3:30P. I notified Perry Heating and Cooling I had to leave. They told me Mr. de la Riva said the job would be repaired at the time of the ROC inspection. On Aug 3, de la Riva met with me, the ROC and a contractor supervisor. He did not repair the door that day. I also had on the complaint to the ROC that de la Riva's company had never given me a choice for the furnace. When the ROC read that part of the complaint, Mr. de la Riva said the company's process is to inform the customer of all information and offer choices. He told the ROC I had refused air conditioning. I became enraged, having lost all patience with the capability of ths man to lie. I refuted his claim. The ROC said he made his decision - we would both be receiving a letter of decision in the mail.

The letter arrived today. Once again, he is giving de la Riva two weeks to fix the door. He dismissed the complaint I was never told about a choice of furnaces because he could not say either way. This has been the most hurtful experience. My hope was to have air conditioning installed by Aug 6 when my son's family visits for the first time in nine years. My health is also a consideration. My request to the ROC that I hire my own contractor and be done with this shady company entering my home again was denied. He has advised me to see the process through. De la Riva said his contractor will not be available until next week, after the supervisor that day told me he would schedule the work for the next day. Perry Heating and Cooling could go with another contractor - but he is making me wait until the last minute before the inspection, once again - making me have that same rude, sloppy contractor touch the walls of my home. By then, my son will be gone and I will still be spending vacation time on this 8-month nightmare.

A person came to my home to give me an estimate. We discussed thoroughly the different options in terms of installation and models. This person was very knowledgable and gave me a written estimate and detailed work description on the spot. The installers were in time, worked very efficiently and didn't make a mess. Both, the heating and cooling units have worked without problems since the installation. They also came once for maintenance and were very good. I highly recommend them.

My A/C went out on a Sunday. I called Perry's and a technician called me back within 30 min and stated he was swamped but would get to my house within 4 hrs max. He called me back and stated there was another techinican close by who was willing to take this call, I had a techinican at my house within one hour of calling. Steve checked my system over, told me it was a bad capacitor (he could have said anything, I am a female, I know nothing about A/C's). Within 2 hrs of calling my A/C was back up and running. He even gave me a military discount.

In December of 2008, a leak developed on my roof. I had the leak repaired, and I called someone else to come out and change the filter on the unit. They informed me that Perry Heating and Cooling had placed the new unit on the old wooden runners and the old runners weren't stable enough to hold the newer, heavier unit. In other words, the unit was not installed up to code. I thought they were going to go ahead and take care of the problem for me, 2 weeks later I called them and Robert told me that they had notified me of the problem at installation. Of course, they hadn't informed me of the problems. They advertise a satisfaction guarantee and I thought they were going to resolve the issue. They actually came up with this excuse to get out of repairing the situation. Because they backed out of resolving the issue, I had to go to the ROC (Register of Contractors). The gentleman representing the state came out and he went over my complaint. Perry's is now being held responsible for repairing the issue within 15 days. That was decided on April 14th, I am waiting to hear back from them regarding the issue. UPDATE: They still have yet to fix the duct system. It continues to pull bad air into the house. They are giving me a hard time, acting nice and saying they will come-out, but don't end-up coming. When they have made it out, they didn't make the changes that the ROC required of them. This is a bad situation.

Overall it went very poorly! I had to wait a few weeks to get an appt. Since I have a contract with them, I am SUPPOSED to get priority, which I did not get. They were supposed to be here between 9AM and 12PM. They still are not here and it is 3:00. In the beginning of my contract several years ago, they were to provide a furnace filter at the servicing, but decided it was costing them too much. I bought the filters from them for a while for $21.00 each. Then I went to the company they buy from and they cost me $4.39. What a rip off!!!! I paid $598.00 for a three year service contract to check my AC in the spring and Furnace in the fall. I feel this to be exorbinate. I have 1 more servicing in the spring left, but I am going to forget it and just be out that $100.00. I don"t want to deal with this company ever again and will tell my friends the same.

They were here when they said they would be. They were flexible on the price and actually lowered it for me. The unit is working just fine so far. *UPDATE* Things have not worked out as well as previously expected. I assumed they had done the work correctly. They improperly placed the unit on the old runners on the roof. I had other companies out to check the work, all coming to the same conclusion. Perry was out of code by placing the unit on the old runners. I was initially told they would replace the runners, which they obviously failed to do. I've gotten the run around from the business since. I was drawn in by their discount, not expecting sub-par work. They are misrepresenting themselves. They under-cut competitors bids by giving the customer poor quality workmanship/products.

They offered multiple choices and competitive prices. We were especially pleased with the knowledgeable, professional, and hard working installation team. There was an apparent oversight in getting a county permit and inspection for this job which caused me extra hassles to resolve a notice of building code violation. Overall, they were very responsive to all my concerns and questions.

We have used this company before to service our AC. They call twice annually to set up appointments for either the AC or the furnace. The serviceman arrived earlier than had been set up after a call from the company to see if it was OK. Service was performed promptly and neatly at a supposedly special price. At the end, it was suggested that we get a duct cleaning in the future (for $200). I had the feeling that, given the current economy, they were trying to drum up more service opportunities. He gave no details as to why he would recommend this service, but I had read in previous consumer publications that, in general, duct cleaning is mostly ineffective and unnecessary unless family members are highly sensitive to indoor allergens. Therefore, I declined.

The system check up went as smooth as I expected, as this was a 2nd opinion visit and it confirmed that I needed a new system. The area that I was disappointed in was Perry wanted to play the same old game... quote you a price, when you select another company then they want a 2nd chance to quote. When your A/C is down in June in Tucson, that is not the time to play games. I told Perry I expected their best price the first time, not after they lost the business. The other company was over 10% lower the first time without playing the "we'll beat anyone's price game" and when you are talking a new system that is more than just pocket change. Final comment: Perry Heating and A/C strikes me as a very good company that I would not hesitate to use. But either be prepared to pay top dollar or play the bidding game.

Poorly... Boy,oh boy! What people will do for a buck! So, Perry Heating Came out and checked the air conditioner at no charge as part of the service agreement for the new system I had installed last year. Then they charged me $79.99 for the service call and then they said they couldn't just put a patch the copper tubing going to the swamp cooler. So, he put all new copper tubing on and charged me for 6 feet of tubing. He charged me $11.54 a foot! So, I complained about that cost, but he showed me the manual where it states the charge. Now to the good part. My friend just happened to call me and I told her that the cost of the copper was $11.54. She just had a fit about the cost. Unbeknownst to me, she called Ace Hardware and asked what their price was for copper tubing for a swamp cooler. They said $0.69 a foot. So, I caught the worker as he was leaving. Even though he was nice, I told him to call their office as I wanted to talk to the manager. He did. I told him what I discovered about the price of copper. He tried arguing with me and asked me if I didn't expect the copper to be more than $0.69. I said, "Of course, I expect you to make money from the copper, but not almost $11 per foot. He then tried to put me down and argue. I interrupted him and said, "Don't try getting into an argument with me. I'm much older and smarter than you are. So make an adjustment in the price. I'm canceling the check that I gave the worker and reporting you to better business bureau. He said, "Let me talk to our serviceman". An adjustment was made. Instead of the original charge of $148.99, the new amount was $88.99. It is too bad these kind of things happen. I feel better though. I feel they made profit, but didn't rob me at the same time.

When I called for an estimate the man was here the next day. He always called when he was on his way. Since my house is very old,I needed ductwork across the roof. This unit was put on the roof also. My favorite part is that he brought his computer with him and I had an estimate right away. He showed me 3 different units at 3 different prices. He explained the pros and cons of each unit clearly. The installers were here the next week. It only took 3 days. They were very professional and clean. I am very happy with the results.

The technician was half an hour late and seemed to have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. I had made the appointment specifically for a furnace and cooler service, yet he did not have the parts on hand to replace cooler pads or belts. He said they were "out of season." He did the rest of the service but told me that the cooler would not run because there was a broken fuse socket, which he also could not fix. He then mis-wired my electricity. I called the next bus. day to correct the mis-wired electric. They wanted to send the same technician; I asked them to send someone more qualified with electric. They told me that it was not their fault because I had "pre-existing" wiring problems. I explained that if the work was beyond the tech's knowledge level, he should not have told me that he could repair it and charge me for it. They sent a different tech who fixed the wiring and the fuse socket without additional charges, so everything worked out to my satisfaction eventually.
