Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment with Mayo Clinic for a hearing test. This was my first visit to the facility on Shea and 134th. The facility is very impressive with clear directions to the reception area. Although there were many patients, the reception process moved very quickly and the staff was very friendly. An audio technician came to the reception area to greet me and show me to the testing area. She was very pleasant and professional. After discussing my hearing limitations and medical history, she explained the testing procedure and then began the process. Upon concluding the testing, she reviewed the results and explained the alternatives. Much to my surprise and my families, she said that although I was unable to hear high tones; I was not a good candidate for hearing aids. She explained that hearing aids do not properly compensate for lose of high tones. However, the test provided a good base line for future monitoring of my hearing. I was very pleased to get a professional evaluation of my hearing without trying to sell me a product that would not resolve my hearing loss. The only limitation is that the Mayo Clinic does not accept Medicare billing rates (they charge 15% over the Medicare rates) and therefore do not accept Medicare patients. Since I am 65, I am not sure that they will allow me to schedule appointments with other medical specialties.

 + -1 moreThe dermatologist that I saw was excellent. She gave the most thorough exam that I have ever had. I feel that the clinic itself is not very upfront. When I went in, they did not tell me exactly who was going to perform the surgery. I was under the impression that she would do the surgery and she did not. She referred me to a resident to do the surgery and I was not happy with the resident that I had. They did not accept insurance and they were very expensive.
Description of Work: I saw them for my dermatology needs.

 + -1 moreI like the way that they are setup. When the doctor comes into see you he has a computer with him and he types everything in the computer so it is there for the next doctor the same. The x-rays are all digitalized. They are very modern and organized.

 + -1 moreI cannot say enough about the care that he has received at this hospital. They have been thourough with the testing and have nursed him back to health from a very critical condition. The doctors and nurses are thoughful and caring and take the time to answer any and all of our questions. Although we've seen a lot of hospital staff, i cannot say that we have met one that hasn't been compassionate towards my family.
Description of Work: My father was taken to Mayo almost three weeks ago. He was in ICU for about a week and has been in the hospital since. He has had dialysis, blood transfusions, and a cancer diagnosis. He began receiving chemo treatment last week.

If someone has a medical condition and your medical team is having trouble figuring things out. They are really good at figuring these things out. For example, I wasn't feeling well, and I couldn't figure out what it was. They were able to diagnose and save my life by a blood test.

The only drawback is that you have to wait a very long time for an appointment. Everybody at this facility is more than willing to help you. The facilities themselves are neat and clean well kept.
