I obtained quotes from several vendors before reading the review for Day & Night Air Conditioning on Angie's List. I have an air conditioner outside and my heat is provided by my water heater. I have had the split system before. I like the idea that my air conditioner only runs during the summer and my heat from my water heater runs during the winter, unlike a heat pump that runs all year long.
Other vendors tried to talk me into replacing my system with a heat pump, but Day & Night said they'd look into a replacment system and would let me know what they could find. Marc was my salesman and said he'd email me with some information the next day, which he did. He gave me a couple options, both included a split system option like I prefer. I notified Marc the same day that I wanted to go ahead with the replacement and let him know which option I preferred. I chose the Trane Hydronic coil option with variable speed fan and wireless thermostat. Marc said he'd have an installation supervisor out to check things out the next week. The next week the install supervisor arrived and did a very thorough job of looking at my existing installation and determined there would have to be new electrical run for the new unit. Once done with the inspection, my install was scheduled for that week.
The install crew showed up promptly at 8am and began covering my tile and carpet with drops cloths, from the front door, all the way to the air handler in my closet. They went to work quickly dismantling my old air handler and a/c unit. Throughout the install, all of their technicians were courteous, provided helpful information along the way, and worked very hard the entire time they were here.
The install crew finished their work, cleaned up everything, reviewed the wireless remote with me, and discussed the performance of the unit with me while they completed their testing. Once they were completed with the install, they said to call immediately if I noticed any problem and that the office would contact me in a couple weeks to schedule a time for the sales rep and service technician to come out and perform testing of the system to ensure it's working properly and to collect payment. I had a new system installed and hadn't paid a dime so far.
Two weeks later, the sales rep and service technician made a visit. The service technician spent an hour and a half inspecting and testing the system to ensure everything worked properly. The sales rep collected his payment and off they went.
I should mention that if you haven't experienced a variable speed air handler, you should. It comes on and off slowly and operates so quietly that many times I can't even tell if it's on. That takes some getting used to, but is so nice. And the wireless thermostat has an app for my phone that allows me to operate all settings from my phone.
Also note, Day & Night does more than just a/c. They handle water softeners, plumbing, indoor air quality, etc. Check them out! They are an incredible company. Everyone I came in contact with understands the true meaning of customer service. I'm not the most demanding customer, but I know what I want and like. Day & Night handled everything like true professionals and everyone was focused on doing an exceptional job and making sure I was satisfied. Even though there was additional wiring required and some sealing of my cold air intake due to some work that had been left undone years ago, I was never charged a penny more than the quote I had originally been given. They even provided me with a new metal air filter to go in front of my existing electronic air cleaner and found replacement tabs for closing of the air cleaner grate. No additional cost.
You can shop around. I encourage you to do so. It will only make you appreciate Day & Night much more!

2nd..The response time was super fast! I called to make and appointment on Thursday 11/15 and was able to get an appointment for Monday the 19th.
3rd and foremost... Erick our technician was absolutely fabulous! My husband and I moved to Phoenix in August from the mid-west, so we had a LOT of questions on the differences between the requirements in the mid-west versus the requirements in a desert climate. It was almost like "fate" that Erick was the technician sent to our house...since he also was from the mid-west (actually from an area about 25 miles from where we lived), he could relate to our questions and had the ability to explain the differences. He was so patient explaining everything and taking the extra time to show me what he was doing and how to address the concerns we have with the air quality in our home. His knowledge and skills are obviously a great asset to Day and Night, but his demonstration of customer service was above and beyond what I've experienced in the past when dealing with heating and air technicians. He listened to our concerns and was able to make suggestions /recommendations to address each of them - there was NO hard sell, no additional charges, etc. We are very impressed, with Day and Night and on Erick's recommendations we are having Day and Night come and do a plumbing inspection and a duct work inspection (which Erick arranged before he left, and again the response was terrific - I've already heard from the home office and have scheduled those appointments).

Fortunately it was not a very hot day as it was a Saturday and we decided to call someone on Monday. I called Day and Night Monday morning and they scheduled a service technician for that afternoon. Our service technician Ron Stevens arrived about 3pm and did a cursory inside inspection and then we went out to the condenser outside. He lifted the lid and immediately spotted a corroded wire. He took great lengths to let me know what things did and how things worked. The repair took a few minutes and he inspected the contacter which he said was normal. He did a few routine tests and told me everything was in good condition for a 14 year old unit.
Ron was as friendly, knowledgeable and considerate as I could have asked for. We were so taken by his professionalism we singed a service contract. It certainly helped that Day and Nights rating on Angies List is second to none.
