Belfor was sent over by our insurance company. The crew of two spent five hours in our home and left us with a small hole in the ceiling and 7 large pieces of equipment running. They attempted to create a tunnel with plastic in which the air could flow into the attic, but were unsuccessful in their attempts. I told them that the noise level wasn't acceptable and that we would need to come up with another plan. They had no plan other than leaving and left us with a home sounding like a wind tunnel. I literally was in tears as it was stressful enough to have damage to our newly remodel home and now we had a company that wasn't doing a professional job, in my opinion, mitigating. My insurance company told me that I had a choice in restoration companies and after reading positive reviews on Angie's List, I called EHS. They quickly came and agreed that the volume of the noise and the amount of equipment that Belfor had running was essessive. They replaced the 7 pieces of equipment left by Belfor with 3 pieces. The noise level was reduced tremendously and my family was able to comfortably stay in our home until the dry out process was complete.
Description of Work: We had an ac leak on the second floor of our home and needed water mitigation performed.

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor provided by USAA. The slab leak was reported on April 1, 2014. As slab leaks go, it could have been much worse. There was minimal drywall repair in one area, some painting of the closets and walls and about 800 square feet of flooring had to be replaced. The whole job should have taken 6-7 weeks. Now it is June 19th, over 3 1/2 months later, and Belfor workman just left, having to come back and correct work that was done poorly and in some areas not done at all. In one closet which was supposed to be repainted they only painted 2/3rd's of it. Don't ask me why. I have never seen a company with such poor communication skills, not only with the client but also with the other subcontractors they hire. The right hand never seemed to know what the left hand was doing. Today's visit was to finish painting a closet that, according to Belfor's own written work plan was to be done. They only painted 2/3's of it the first time. Don't ask me why. They also never prepped the walls before painting. They didn't even wipe them down or clean them off before they began to paint. Even I know that has to be done. It just seemed that some of the workmen were cutting corners whenever they had a chance. The flooring company that Belfor hired to do the flooring noticed one tile was cracked which they noticed right after the main install. The grout color isn't close to matching in the area that was repaired a couple of hours after the rest of the tile was grouted. On top of that, the workman dumped the soiled water from the grout onto the decorative granite gravel leaving a mess that I haven't figured out how to get rid of. My insurance company is paying them for the work they submitted to them in writing. They didn't do everything they said would be done, even though they are getting paid to do it, and I had to constantly remind them. I regret that I had not recorded all of my conversations with their representative. He'd say one thing but his work crews didn't follow through until I had to call Belfor and USAA to complain. Good luck ever getting a response from Belfor if you send an email to them regarding their uncompleted work. They never responded to mine. The bottom line is , from my experience, I would never use them again. Ever.
Description of Work: Belfor was the contractor assignment to me by USAA, my insurance provider to handle repairs due to water damage from a slab leak.
