"Customer, I'm sorry that you feel you were overcharged for your deadbolt installation. Mike is no longer with the company so I'm unable to ask him about your specific case. It's possible that the price quote that you were given over the phone was the price without lock hardware. We usually provide the quote for the service call and labor to install the deadbolt and then let our customers chose which brand of hardware they'd like to have installed. The price you were charged is in line with the costs for the installation of a Schlage deadbolt, which is what you received. Had you opted to go with a Kwikset deadbolt then your price would have been lower. Again, I'm unable to contact Mike so I'm unsure as to wether he quoted you the price for a Kwikset and then arrived at your location only to find that your house already had Schlage hardware installed. Either way, Mike should have quoted you the price before doing the work and given you the option of proceeding with the job or not. I offer my apologies if this did not happen. I've spoken with our dispatchers as well as our residential and commercial locksmiths and reminded them that they need to provide our customers with clear price quotes.
