I truly do not believe there is a better installation team than Sullivan Hardwood Flooring. We used them twice during our home remodel and we are glad we did, because the general contractor on the project wound up as one of those horror stories on the news. Luckily we decided to find our own flooring contractor. First we had John Sullivan come over and wanted him to remove all the remaining carpet in the home and replace it with a high end wood laminate. This was for the three bedrooms and the living room. We had guest coming into town and the front door was being replaced as part of the remodel and John and his crew worked around this schedule. He even recommended removing the stoop and hand railing, which just seemed a waste of real estate. By recommending this, I could use that front room, as a pool room (someday if my wife agrees). He was meticulous about leveling the floors before he started - I didn't know they weren't level, but our house from the 1973 obviously had settled in places. The finished product was amazing and integrated into the closets and the baseboards wonderfully. Then came the horror story remodel where I wound up subcontracting out electrical and drywall and tile and glass, just to keep the project moving. We were so glad we did not include the flooring in the remodel itself. What started in January I finally finished on my own in September. We loved the finished project, but then my wife decided she hated the tile we had not removed, so we called John back. He integrated a nice marble vinyl laminate in the bathrooms, the kitchen, the hallway, and the great room. Another suggestion he made was removing our old guest bath cabinet which spanned a wall so we could replace the old vinyl flooring under it. Fantastic decision. I installed a floating cabinet and it completely modernized the house. Now we love our house. We loved the suggestions John made to improve it. And we especially love the quality work, the working around our schedules, and the speed in which he did the work both times. I haven't put in half of the things he did our suggestions he made to make our home one we love. Thank you, John. Give him a try.

John was the last minute replacement after original installer was not able to fulfill schedule. He was recommended by that installer and he did an amazing job on our wood flooring installation. He was punctual, careful, clean and a perfectionist. We couldn't be more happy with the results and I am sharing photos of his work. We will definitely be using him again when we are ready to install in the other rooms.

Of the 5 potential hardwood flooring installation companies called for quotes, only 2 returned my call. One place wouldn't quote for anything less than 300 square feet. John Sullivan returned my call and stated no job was too small. He provided a recommended supplier, who had a vast selection of all sorts of flooring at various price points and also allowed me to keep a few samples overnight to see how they would look in the room. I could have gone to another supplier for the flooring material, but this supplier's prices were in line with most other competitors. After the flooring material was received, John returned the next morning and completed the removal of the carpeting and installation of the laminate flooring. All work was completed in about 4 hours. I was very happy with results. The flooring looks as if it was part of the original build of the house.

John is a consummate professional. He spent 2 days doing prep work on the floors that should have been done with the original install but wasn’t. His skill is evident in the finished product and I give him my highest recommendation. It’s a pleasure to find craftsmen who excel at their craft. John did an amazing job on our wood flooring installation. He was punctual, professional and a perfectionist! We purchased the flooring on our own and purchased the adhesive at the same time. We ended up returning the adhesive because John was able to save us about $250 by using his instead. We couldn't be more happy with the results. We will definitely be using him again when we are ready to install in other rooms.

John was easy to work starting with arrangements to measure my house and provide an estimate. We discussed all of my questions up-front and he provided a detailed itemized estimate. He was easy to get a hold of when I had additional questions and as we locked in exactly what I wanted done. During carpet removal and hardwood installation, John kept my house as clean and orderly as possible. He took excellent care when moving my furniture from room to room. I am very happy with the exceptional quality of the end result.

John and his people did an outstanding job from start to finish. The workmen were not only nice individuals but also first rate craftsmen. The process was very smooth. John came and measured, gave an estimate and we scheduled the work. It took a long time for me to pick out my floors (my fault). Once that was done, John scheduled and completed the work. Every thing went exactly as planned. I highly recommend John Sullivan.

John worked along side of Deon Miller (see full review there) to install complete flooring in my house.  I couldn't be more pleased with the work performed.  I would highly recommend either Sullivan Hardwood Flooring or Deon" Installation.

John went above and beyond our expectations. He expertly completed the job as well
as corrected subpar work from existing areas. John is organized, punctual, and
fair. He took the time to answer questions, and give suggestions. His

Everything went very smoothly. John offered to move our furniture, but my husband and I decided to move it ourselves.  They did move all the appliances, unhooked and hooked the water for the refrigerator, sink and washer.  John also took out the old toilet and put in a new one.  When John discovered a problem, he took steps to fix it.  For example, he discovered that some of the wood under our bar area was broken and decaying so he replaced it.  When taking out the old tile and carpet, they put up plastic sheeting over shelving and doorways to the rest of the house to keep the dust to a minimum.  John replaced my old baseboard with newly painted and more modern baseboard.  There were a couple of areas which did not have baseboard before, John thought they needed it with the new tile, so he put baseboard there, also.  Sullivan Hardwood Flooring was very professional, friendly, and did a wonderful job!

Beautifully! John and his installer were wonderful to work with. They removed the old carpeting in the living room, dining room, and hallway, hauled it away, and installed the laminate flooring and molding (purchased separately from The Floor Depot ($1511)). John even went to lengths to stain the molding to match the laminate as closely as possible. I appreciated that extra effort.

John did an amazing job!!  I am so happy with the finished job.  He explained everything he would be doing, prior to starting, how long it would take, and everything was as expected.  He was so professional and so accommodating.  He removed about 1500 square feet of carpet and replaced with laminate hard wood floors.  He put everything back that he removed closet doors, etc, and left the house spotless.  I would highly recommend John to anyone that is looking to change the flooring in their house.  He is the guy!!

They put in about 1200 sq.ft.  had to grind some areas down with very little mess.  Cleaned up each day before leaving.  John and his partner are both professional and pleasant to work with. Will continue to work with him in the future to do a rental unit we own.
