Description of Work: Called Air & Water Factor on Tuesday afternoon. Tim arrived first thing Wednesday afternoon, and did a very thorough inspection including the attic. Tim spent two hours going over the various options with myself and my wife. He provided a quote on the spot with four different options. We ending up with a two stage 5 ton, with an extra return installed. | |While his initial price was the highest of the three quotes, he did come back with a 10% off which put them on par with one of the other contractors. They also offered a portable room AC to get us through one night, as we had been without AC since Sunday. Tim installed the portable unit and installed the vent of the AC with copious amounts of tape and cardboard to form a seal around the door. | |We had the unit installed Friday morning, and my wife was pleased with the professionalism of the installation crew. | |Tim's recommendation of adding another return was very helpful and along with increasing the duct size, has made a significant decrease of the noise levels and increased the efficiency of the prior unit. | |Of the three contractors that we had quotes from, Air & Water Factor was the most knowledgeable and least sales oriented. | |Will continue to do business with them, and highly recommend them for a professional and competitively priced installation.

 + -1 moreWater was pouring out of our roof-top air conditioner. It was Saturday 12/23. We called were forwarded to the technician on duty. His name is Larry. My husband described the problem. Larry diagnosed the problem and said it was the outside coil that was defrosting and that it was a natural occurrence. Larry explained the technicalities and he said we did not need a service call. He solved the problem over the phone at no cost to us. He could have come out and told us the same thing and charged us for a service call. This shows integrity!

 + 0 moreTurns out he replaced a bad coil, thermostat control, and after trying to pinpoint the problem for several hours determined that another part was needed to make the heat-pump switch from AC to heat. He was very professional, polite and did the work as quickly as possible. He had to make a return trip two days later, after ordering the board needed for the rest of the repair, but they waived the service call fee for that one. Overall, very satisfied.
Description of Work: Replaced thermostat, bad coil, and a relay switch board (or something like that, the thing that makes the heat-pump switch from cooling to heating when you flick the switch on the thermostat).

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with the service provided by Air Factor. Mike /Sales Rep was extremely professional and worked with me to find a product that would fit my needs and my budget. He was great too work with, no pressure and good follow up. He was also extremely accommodating in working around my work schedule so that I did not have to take time of work to get the job done. The installers arrived while I was at work and removed the old units, took care of the duct work and put the new unit in place. When I got home the only thing they had left to do was put in the thermostat and check the system. I had a problem with the thermostat a couple of days later and when I called them, they were great and again willing to come out in the evening so that I would not be unconvinced. Larry came out that night to take care of the problem and he was fabulous, a great recovery and I could tell that he took great pride in his work. Air Factor surpassed all my expectations!

They are, perhaps, the nicest company we have ever dealt with. Very professional, very friendly, very prompt. Two days later, they followed up with a courtesy call. This is how a business should be operated.

 + -1 moreThe work was performed by Larry and Chip who arrived right on time, the old system was dismantled and taken away and the new system was installed within 8 hours. They made sure drop cloths were laid down to prevent any dirt being tramped through the house and to protect the carpets. I was totally impressed with their work and the finished product. They were not the cheapest estimate I received, but there presentation and installation with excellent follow was first class. I would totally recommend Air Factor to anyone who needs to have work done on their existing a/c or is in need of a replacement system. Great company, very professional, and friendly employees. Keep up the good work.

 + 1 moreMonty was courteous and punctual. In fact a representative called me early that morning to give me an even more accurate arrival time. I also appreciated the fact that when I initially called on Sunday I was informed that while they could get a technician out right away, Sundays cost double. We opted for the Monday appointment. Monty promptly diagnosed the problem and replaced the clogged section. The pipe was draining when he left, but eventually began to clog up again 5 hours later. He came out again--free of charge--the following day, found the second clog (clogs?), and completely cleared out the remaining gunk. He was so apologetic--I almost felt bad--for missing the other clog. Unfortunately I missed yesterday's follow-up phone call from this company and couldn't tell them how pleased I was with their service. I will definitely use Air Factor again. The only, only surprise was the cost of plastic drainline--that section of PVC was $102.84.
Description of Work: He replaced a clogged section and P-trap on our air conditioner's PVC drain line.

However, I was floored that the company could not provide a price to replace some four hours after the heat pump and home data were collected. The company advertises an Angie's List coupon so I had extra interest in knowing their replacement price. I could not wait any longer for a price as the heat pump had failed during 100 degree weather.
Description of Work: Existing heat pump was evaluated for cost to repair. Heat pump and home data were collected to provide a replacement cost.

 + -1 moreA/C went out on 118 degree day. Needless to say, all valley A/C companies were extremely busy. Earliest I could get one to commit was three days out. Mike Littau went out of his way to try and get to me as soon as possible. Larry arrived when he said he would and provided friendly, quality service. I would unequivocally recommend this company.
Description of Work: First floor A/C went out. Technician diagnosed problem as a failed charge unit. He was able to fix problem and check both of our A/C units in about 40 minutes. While I did not shop around, the price for the service seemed reasonable to me.

 + -1 moreAir Factor accommodated my schedule with an early call, showed up on time, were friendly, and neatly dressed. As I was writing the check in my kitchen, I asked about the type of filter I was using (permanent type) and he recommended I switch to a disposable filter for better air circulation and less stress on the unit. When I asked if that would cut the noise at all, he said the type of grill on the cold air return is causing much of the noise I hear. I'll be having them back to replace that! They even called a few days later as a courtesy to be sure I was happy with their service. I recommend them without reservation!

In order to properly size the new unit he visited the house, measured it, determined the number and location of the windows. He explained the difference between a heat pump and a regular until and also helped me determine whether I wanted to use gas or electric heating. Overall, Mike was very prompt in giving me a quote, honest and straightforward in explaining my options, his crews were prompt and professional and cleaned up after themselves. I recommend Air Factor without reservation
