My experience was great. Larry did an on-site estimate and provided several equipment and pricing options for replacing the air conditioner and heating system in my single story, 1642 sq. ft. house. He was thorough and patient in his explanation and answered a lot of questions. Once I decided to go with Air Factor (I had 2 estimates) a date that was convenient for me was set up. The crew of 2 was here at 6:30 am and completely finished by 2:00 pm. Everything went extremely well. The owner of the company came by about 3 hours in to the project to check out the work and make sure I was satisfied. The crew was friendly, neat, professional and meticulous with the installation and the clean-up. They had to remove the moulding around the ceiling entrance to the attic. When they finished, they replaced the moulding, caulked and repainted the entire ceiling area - better looking than before they started. It has been 2 months since the installation and everything has operated smoothly.
Description of Work: Removal of old air/heating system and installation of a Trane 4 ton XL 16i, 15 seer split system, including a new plenum, and digital thermostat. My cost includes an extended 10 year warranty on compressor, parts, labor thermostat and refrigerant, and 12 years on the compressor.

We think really good of them. We checked with 2 other companies. We just felt more comfortable with these people. So we chose them. I thought that their punctuality was good. I would use them again in future.

Everyone I had contact with at Air Factor behaved in manner that left me with the impression that they really cared about my satisfaction. - I had two heat pump (split) systems installed and every step in the process was pleasant and informative. Larry did a thorough job of presenting my options and following up after the install, Travis and Josh worked hard to complete an excellent installation, and the owner Bill stopped by to look at the installation in progress, and to make sure I was satisfied with what had been done to that point. - The day after the installation there was an issue with one of the wall thermostats, so I called the office and they arranged for it to be replaced the next day (a Saturday). - At the end of the process I was provided documents for each heat pump ?system? that was installed. They covered installation, using the new thermostats, general information on heating and cooling systems, satisfaction guarantees, completed warranty registrations, and completed manufacturer rebate claim forms. Larry also took care of the SRP and federal tax credit related forms since one of my new systems qualified for them. - In my opinion you'd be wise to give this business and its people your consideration! Besides treating me well, their quote was 7.5% lower than another highly ranked company on both Kudzu and Angie's List.

I called Air Factor for a quote on a new a/c system to replace a 15 year old one that had gone out. I had never used Air Factor, but called them because of their good ratings on Angie's List. Larry was extremely thorough. He did a load calculation and took pictures in the attic. He was not pushy, and was very patient with my many questions. I was very concerned about getting a quiet system since my furnace is in an indoor closet and Larry offered some good suggestions. I thought he had my best interests at heart. His price was a little more than a couple of others I spoke with, but I would definitely include him on your short list of companies to consider.

They are punctual and thorough. Travis came out and he was really good with my dog. He called to let me know he was on his way. He spent two hours here and went through my 4 units and did a really thorough job. I think they do a really good job and I was able to get an appointment within 2 days.

It was the Thursday before a long holiday and the employee showed up and was able to quickly identify the problem with the AC unit. The drip pan had overflowed and began leaking through the ceiling fan beneath the pan. He removed 6 gallons of water from the pan, cleaned the drip pipe and recommended a value be installed to address future problems with the pipe. He also recommended we call our insurance immediately to address the water damage.

On Saturday night at dinner time our ceiling collapsed under the air conditioning unit with water and insulation streaming out because the condenser drain had become plugged on our air conditioning unit. We checked Angie's List, called and the person on emergency answered. We agreed the unit could still run so they agreed to come between 8-10am on Sunday. They were here by 7:45am and provided an estimate before completing the work. They cleaned out both air conditioning units to make sure the other would not have the same problem and were done by 8:30am. Great work.

Our unit went out around 3pm saturday 7/11 on a 110 degree day. I called the company and they said they could get out to our house between 5-7pm that day. Travis showed up at 5:30pm, investigated the situation, found that our blower motor had gone out, and gave us the total cost to replace blower motor. I did think the cost for the part and labor seemed high and tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a better deal, but given the circumstances, we had to get the work done as it was one of the hottest days of the year. I did call one other company listed as an "A" company and they said the price Air Factor was chrarging was about standard based on the fact it was considered "overtime" work being a saturday. Travis was professional and he did a great job cleaning up and not getting our attic insulation all over our closet like the last A/C guy. Suggestion: stay on top of your A/C unit so that you don't have to call a company on the weekend.

My A/C went out Sunday, 7/5. I called and left a message requesting a call back on Monday. The company opens at 8am, but I called at 7:40 am and Bill answered the phone. He stated he remembered my message and getting ready to call me. Bill stated they would be able to get a tech out to my home, but it would be at the end of the day. This worked out perfect, I wouldn't have to leave early from work. The company is located in Mesa and I live in Scottsdale. I was told the tech would arrive between 4pm and 6pm. I asked the office to please call me when the tech was on his way, so I could leave work and meet him. ( I live 15 minutes from work). The office did call me, this allowed me to stay cool and inside with air conditioning as long as I could. A tech named Travis showed up at 4:30. He was very nice and polite. He checked the thermostat, then went on the roof. He stated some kind of compressor was bad and it would be $173 and change to fix. He stated he had the parts in the truck and all he needed was my initials. Once done, he went and fixed the A/C. When he returned, I asked if they offered any kind of service warranty (like home warranty, but just for the A/C). He stated they did, he explained what was covered and if I purchased the warranty today, I would get 10% off that days labor and parts. So, by the time all was said and done. I paid about $150 to get the A/C fixed and about $150 for the service warranty. All in all, it was a great experience. I loved the the fact they were able to fit me in on Monday after a holiday weekend. They do not have sub contractors working for them. The tech, Travis was so nice. I would highly recommend this company. Oh, I almost forgot, they allowed me to use the coupon they offer on Angies list, even though I did not have a printer to print it out. Thanks!!

Air conditioning went out on a Friday night. Since I live in Phoenix and this is summer, I had to get it fixed right away. I had to work Saturday. I selected this company due to other reports and they provided 24x7 service. The dispatcher said they would have someone at my house at 5:00 PM and the tech showed up at that time. All I needed was freon. Tech was curteous.

Got their name from Angies list - from the excellent feedback they received from others. Called and set up an appointment between 8-10AM. The appointment person very friendly and easy to talk to (unlike some companies I have delt with) . The service person (Travis) arrived at 9AM and had a complete check off sheet that he used to check the complete system. All checks were made and our unit was reported to be in good shape. He answered all my questions (as I followed him around). He didn't try to sell me on anything. He was very professional and had excellent quipment to do all the checks. I will definitly use them again..

Very good. I thought I had much bigger problems, but Air Factor gave a a straight forward assessment of the condition of my equipment and what it needed and did not need. I paid less than what I thought I was going to have to pay. The technician worked quickly, but took the time to explain everything. Outstanding service-the Air Factor phone people were polite and the technician arrived when he said he would.
Description of Work: The Air Factor Technician checked both of my air handlers and cleaned the drain lines. I thought I might need duct cleaning, however, the technician told me I did not need it. The technician also checked the freon in one of my ground units.

I was nervous spending such a large amount of money on anything, but had an excellent experience overall. I gave a B for price, but that isn't really a complaint. I didn't shop for price only, I wanted someone I could trust. When the work was done I was very nervous because they had to rip out the electrical boxes from the old units which caused some stucco damage and to get in the attic they had to remove some shelves in the closet. Perhaps I am not an optimist, but I fully anticipated having to argue with them to get things properly cleaned up and put back together. I was happy to find that when all was completed they not only fixed things up, but repainted the areas too. Very nice. The first night the system upstairs shut down. Again, I'm dreading what will happen, but when I called they were right back out the next morning to fix it. It turned out to be a drain line that wasn't sufficiently sloped and backed up. Luckily, their standard installation includes 2 different sensors to detect drain failures. One in the pipe, and another in the pan. They ended up having to spend another 8 hours or so to get the drain line working properly. I don't fault them for this, I fault the general Arizona shoehorning of air handlers in small attics. I pity these guys working in the attic space! Anyway, overall it was a very good experience and I would not hesitate to recommend these guys. All the people from sales to install crews were professional, clean cut, and friendly. It had a family feel.

The office customer service was superb as was Travis'. They were willing to schedule the visit within my time frame, and assured me that if it became critical, I should call and they'd come out right away. Not only were they prompt, but they were more than supportive of me when I had to re-schedule - with only a few hours notice on my part - for a couple of days later because of my asthma attack. Travis was prompt on the next scheduled day also, and arrived with the part as planned. They took a credit card, which was helpful for such a relatively costly and unplanned expense. I felt well cared for, was assured that my heating unit is in good shape, and that they have a well run and competent establishment. I plan on having them do regular maintenance and service for my a/c and heating from now on.
Description of Work: We were getting no heat from our furnace. Travis came to the house and began diagnosis at the thermostat in the hall and then went into the attic where he performed a complete check-up and found the hot surface igniter was bad. He showed me the part and explained how it works, and I could see where it had broken. He gave me the price and I agreed. He had to order the part since it's a non-stock item, and returned with it the next day. In addition to replacing the part, he performed a complete operation check so we know there's no other problem hanging over us.

I live out of town and my relatives were staying at the house and called to say the AC was not cooling. I don't have enough experience in the Mesa area to know a reputable AC repair company, and inquiries with my neighbors didn't turn up anything. Angie's list had helped me before in Mesa, so I used this service to identify a company in the Mesa area for AC repair. Since this was late afternoon on the weekend, I got a phone message when I called, but was put through quickly to the on-call service person. I talked to him about the situation, and he was at the house in about an hour to assess the situation. He was courteous and responsive. He identified the likely problem and fixed it and then called me back to update me on the situation. He also identified some follow-up issues with my AC I would need to attend to in the near future. I paid for the service over the phone, and he said the company would send paperwork to me - which arrived promptly. I was very happy with the service and the repair.
Description of Work: My air conditioner was not cooling the house. The on-call company rep assessed the situation - the fan had dislodged and affected the motor function, although it did not damage the motor. He repaired the fan and did an assessment of the AC function to determine if that was the extent of the problem.

The short version is = PERFECTLY. The long version: They were excellent in every aspect. When they arrived to do the bid, a neighbor saw their truck and drove in to recommend them. Larry (you want to have him do the job) took time to fully understand he job and to explain all that might be required as the job progressed. They estimated two days and were exactly on target. They asked us to have a roofer and a carpenter on site to repair the roof installation and to do other work that would be required after they removed the old AC unit. They recommended a carpenter that I will report on later. For now, the carpenter is still working on our home and will be doing many jobs here. We used Renco Roofing who we have used before and they arrived on a one day notice, on time and coordinated the installation so that there was not any lost time on the job. Larry oversaw the whole job and we could not be happier with them. They were all hard workers, they were neat and professional and they maintained he job site (our home) as best as could be expected. Basically our bedroom, bathroom, closet, main hallway and entry are torn down to the studs to do this job. They have done all that can be done to accommodate us so we can still live in the house. We were without AC in that end of the house for one day. When they turned the new unit on we used he old setting and had to reset them to warmer as it quickly got too cold. If you need air conditioning work done you need to use these guys. And by the way we could speak with every worker.
Description of Work: Replace the AC unit, move the unit from the ground to the roof, install new ducting. This required rerouting the ducts and cutting holes in the roof as well as removal of the old unit.

My air conditioner stopped working so I logged on to Angie's List to find a good repair company. I found Air Factor to be highly recommended, so I contacted them on Tuesday morning. They were booked up that day, so they would schedule me first thing Wednesday morning. The person I talked to said it would be around 8 am. The technician (Travis) finally showed up at 9:45 am. He ran some diagnostics and determined that the run capacitor needed to be replaced. Total price $190, and with $20 Angie's List coupon, price was reduced to $170. No discount for cash in this case, unlike what an other reviewer stated. Work took around 1 hr. Later that day, air conditioner was making a lot of noise. I saw that wires were hitting the fan blades. I contacted Air Factor on Thursday morning. Travis came out a couple hours later and zip tied the wires to the OUTSIDE top of the air conditioner, so now there is a zip tie exposed to direct sunlight. When that plastic oxidizes in the sun, the wires will once again be hitting the fan, causing an electrical hazard. This is dangerous!. Also, there is a screw missing from the housing of the air conditioner.

A month ago our 18 year A/C was on the fritz. We received in-home estimates from 5 separate contractors. We received the most comprehensive analysis of our needs and the most competitive estimates from both Air Factor and Magic Touch. Both did a load analysis (which none of the others would do). Neither gave me a hard-sell - just asked me what I wanted and answered my many questions in detail and presented several options for me to choose. I would strongly recommend both contractors. There are two reasons I went with Air Factor (in addition to there top rating on Angie's List): The more complete analysis and better options that Gary, the Air Factor estimation engineer, offered me and the fact that Air Factor appears to have the more experienced installers. The old system was an over\under packaged system with piggy-backed Evap Cooler. I was reluctant to part with the Evap Cooler. Gary was OK with that, but explained the options we had if we wanted to keep it vs the options we had if we junked it. His analysis convinced me to part with it. The load calculations that Gary did showed that we should go with a 3 ton (instead of the 3.5 ton we have now). We ended up going with a variable speed 16 SEER AC that we have been thrilled with. The options we had in this model were a 3 ton or a 4 ton. Gary explained that due to the air duct size coming into the house it would limit the air flow from a 4 ton system. Obviously he could have made more money if I went with a 4 ton but he appeared to be more interested in providing the best solution for me instead of maximizing his profit. There was no hard sell on the extended warranty. Gary also prepared an submitted my SRP rebate and we actually received it a week after the A/C was installed. When getting estimates you will save a ton if you do not finance. Also - you will save an addition 3% or so if you specify you will pay cash instead of paying via credit card. Make sure you mention that when the estimate is being written. BTW: Make sure you check reports and the BBB for any contractors you choose. The contractor which does a certain home improvement store's installations appears to be, by far, the worst. Plus - that contractor's estimates are not even close to competitive.
Description of Work: Air Factor installed a TRANE 16 SEER packaged system and two programmable thermostats (one for the new A/C, the other for an 2nd existing system).

My 10-year-old AC system went into death spasms on a Friday evening not completely dead but definitely terminal. By Sunday it was grim inside the dying unit couldn t do better than 87 with it 114 outside. I checked Angie's List and chose Air Factor because of their great marks and remarks, and while at their company website on Sunday afternoon I fired off an email, not expecting to hear from them until Monday and planning to call their office at 7 am Monday. Larry Littau contacted me on Sunday evening responding to the email and set an appointment for 7 am Monday, asking if being a few minutes early would be OK. Cool. 6:50 am Monday Larry is at the door, we have a deal, all approvals, and all the parts needed confirmed available and ordered by 9. Very cool. The install technicians Chip & Beau were on-site and working at 9:30. Very cool indeed!! Laid down drop-cloths everywhere they would be walking. Excellent! Out with the old, in with the new - these guys knew how to do it and hustled. Job wasn t easy as air handler is in the attic with very poor access in a two-story house, and had to be broken down into many pieces passed through a small hole, then reassembled and connected in 110-degree Phoenix heat in among the rafters and the rock wool insulation. Not my version of fun. Chip and Beau worked solid until 8:45 pm, and the house was clean and cooling down nicely as they left. Larry has scheduled a follow-up visit to top off the system for Wednesday morning - meanwhile the system is performing flawlessly. Done Right Deal !! P.S. They beat the quoted price from a 'big box' dealer by 30%
Description of Work: Complete replacement of a 5-ton heat pump system with the latest top-of-the- line Trane system. Outside unit had decent access, but the air handler is in the attic with very poor access in a two-story house, so required broken down, reassembled, and connected. Actual start of quote to job finish: 13 hours, possibly a record for Phoenix in 110+ weather !!

We received quotes from three companies including Air Factor, and Air Factor was by far more comprehensive. We could've gone with a less expensive unit and paid less with another company, but just liked that Air Factor received a lot of good recommendation from other home owners. Gary made sure that he reviewed our old home and gave us some options to make sure that our newly installed unit was working to its full potential. We thought that the information Gary provided was truthful and wasn't excessive just trying to make some extra $$.
Description of Work: Replacement of old heat pump unit with new 16 SEER unit, convertible 3 & 5 ton.
