Fine. I have been doing business with Ron for over 20 years. He has always provided great service. We had a Jetta diesel some years back that needed a water pump replaced. That job took special tools. Ron recommended that I go to a shop that does VW diesel work, which we did.

After doing extensive research on the internet and consulting Consumer Reports ratings as to the best and worse tires, I learned that the tires they endorse were rated in the bottom, #16 out of 17.
I emailed Hicky my tire measurements, and asked if they carried two of the top tires I was interested in purchasing. I never received a reply.
I took my car to be serviced a number of times, and although they have been rated by AAA as top shop for many years, I will no longer use this shop and wonder if repairs that were made, were justified.

One morning, after my wife pulled the car out of the garage, I noticed a puddle of antifreeze where her car was. I took the car to a garage in Vail, near where I work, and had an oil change and inspection. I was told that the antifreeze probably came from the water pump. That made sense, since the car had over 130k miles and no major work done. I got an estimate from them of almost $1200 to replace the timing belt and water pump. The timing belt was due to be replaced at 100k miles.
I thought that the initial estimate sounded a little high, so I called Hickey Automotive to get an estimate on the same services from the competitor. They quoted me $625 and I immediately scheduled an appointment. The women behind the service counter were very courteous through out the time the car was being serviced.
I dropped my car off on a Friday morning, expecting to pick it up that evening. The original work was completed in that time frame. When they started the car after the work was complete they found a leak in the thermostat housing, the thermostat and gasket were replaced. The car was started again and another leak was found, this time in a pipe on the radiator that goes to the engine block. The part had to be ordered from a dealer and wasn't delivered until Tuesday morning. In the mean time, the mechanic didn't like the brand of water pump that was initially used, so he swapped it out with a brand that he liked better. The part from the dealer was missing an o-ring and one couldn't be found in the area that would work. The o-ring had to be picked up late on Tuesday from a dealer in Tucson. The mechanic stayed after hours on Tuesday to make sure we could pick the car up that evening. When we picked the car up the mechanic showed us the corrosion in the pipe from the radiator that caused the extended repair time.
During the whole time of the service, we were kept up to date on the work being done and the issues that surfaced and needed to be addressed. The service was great. I would not hesitate to take my vehicles to Hickey Automotive for future services.

Had them evaluate the needed repairs and they came back with exactly what I felt was needed. They also found the broken front motor mount which I was not aware needed replacement. They kept me informed at all times about status of ordered parts, time to complete the job and estimated costs.
At the end of the repair, the cost was exactly as they estimated and the work was completed in the time frame that they told us. We were very happy with their work and would use them again.

My regular garage had told me it was time to replace the timing belt at 120,000 miles. They quoted me better than $1400 which I did not have at the time.
I did some other calling around and was quoted about the same. I found Hickey on Angie's List and they quoted be about $1200. When I asked why it was lower, they said that most garages just order a kit - at a higher cost - that includes parts not every car needs to have replaced. The difference between ordering just what I needed and what I may need was not very much - less than $50 - and if I needed the additional parts, they would get them, most cars don't need them.
I had a few other things done at the same time, hence the difference between the $1200 and the $1500 I ended up paying.
They were great to work with as I live about 35 miles from where I work. We coordinated drop-of and pick-up. They called and explained everything to me and I was very satisfied!

Although I found that they fix cars very good, I really thought that what they did for me was overpriced. I was not able to check around a lot but after the fact I found that their prices were much higher than other garages.
