The provider kept me posted that my AC unit has a manufacture warranty and that the company will replace, my unit with no cost and all I pay is the service fee for them coming out, disposal fee and freon. That's an honest $250 spent for their service. Once the AC unto was shipped to their business, they came out and replaced my broke AC for a new one.
Description of Work: The provider gave me many options before replacing my new AIrconditioned 5 ton unit. Husband and wife business and they were honest to tell me before a new purchase, they'll check if the manufacture warranty is covered by the company before selling or replacing a new unit. Unlike Chas Roberts, the representative who I initially called first to diagnosed my AC told me to just replace a new one because it cost as much to repair the unit.

They initially came out within the time window they promised. They called the insurance company and confirmed the leak and got approval to replace the water heater. When the water heater was available at the distributor and I was back at home, they came by during the window of time they promised to do the install. After the new unit was installed, the installer asked me to turn on the circuit breaker. I asked him if we could adjust the temperature down to the lowest setting beforehand. He said "it's already set at 120º". I said "can't it be adjusted higher or lower than that?", to which he replied "I don't know." I don't know a lot about water heaters, but I know how to change the temperature of the water, which I did myself later on when he left. I didn't appreciate his dishonest answer. We then tested the water at the kitchen sink, and suddenly the water flow from the faucet was very low (beforehand, it had been a normal strong flow of water from both the hot and cold faucets). He started coming up with reasons of how he couldn't be held responsible for this problem. We had to get the insurance company on the phone, and a few minutes later he removed a water inlet hose under the sink and found a small piece of something that was partially blocking the hot water line. My guess is that it was sediment from the old water heater or some other debris that got in the line when the new pipes were soldered. Everything seemed to be working fine, so he and his helper left. If that had been the end of it, I would have probably rated them as average (mostly due to lack of customer service skills). But the next day, I noticed that the pipe at the top of the water heater had a slow leak and water was building up on the top of the unit. I called them and they came out the same afternoon to re-install the temperature and pressure escape. I never heard an apology for not doing it right the first time. After he did the repair, he opened the kitchen door and said "ok, it's done" and left. As of today, there are no apparent leaks, and the water heater is functioning OK. Needless to say, I would not use this company again. Note: they tried to charge me $50 for disposal of the old water heater, but I had found someone on Craig's List who picked it up for free. An aside about the home warranty process... I had to pay a $100 deductible directly to the installer, plus an extra $30 to install the temperature and pressure assembly which the previous water heater didn't have. The insurance company offered me a cash settlement of $344 and I could go to whomever I wanted. I think next time I am going to investigate this option if something breaks down so I can choose someone from Angie's List instead of having them send whomever they want. I could have gotten the job done the same day (in a matter of hours) instead of waiting until the item arrives at a distributor several days later. Plus being able to choose the installer is a benefit as well.
Description of Work: This company replaced my water heater because I had a home warranty through Home Protect. I did not get to choose who came out, and this is who the insurance company chose.

Called on Saturday, got appointment for Tuesday (wasn't an emergency). Pretty accommodating on appointment time. Appointment window was 4-8pm. They arrived promptly @ 4. May not have been most professionally sharpest appearance but seemed competent and friendly. Agreed needed re-plumbing but didn't think my "Total Protect" home warranty would cover it - and needed some additional parts. Home warranty DID cover it and they returned in two days and finished the work - By all appearances a FINE job that looks "right" for the first time - and less like an unnecessarily complicated hamster trail under the cabinet. Increased my storage space as well. $75 co-pay required from me under the home warranty for the entire service, 2 trips, parts and labor. The home warranty co-pay skews the price rating favorably above. I do not know what they would have charged but for the warranty, but compare to $165 minimum quoted by other company - and that with a 30% discount due to "service contract".
Description of Work: Pipes under dual kitchen sink have leaked sporadically over past 4.5 yrs. Friends have have adjusted & tightened; I have adjusted & tightened, and one plumber as well, but eventually it would pour again. Plumber said it needed to be re-plumbed - and quoted a discounted price under a heating/AC & plumbing service contract with company named "One Call" of $165.
