After getting the estimate, I called Noble Refrigeration, and they confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the Condensor fan motor, and that they could see that the top of the A/C had been loosened and was just laying on top with nothing holding it down, and several other things has been loosened. I called Desert Air and cancelled my service order, and they told me they could not because it had already been charged to my credit card. I asked them how they could charge my card before they had done the work. After several phone calls and discussions, they finally issued a credit to my credit card. Noble Refr. undid whatever Deser Air had done to make my A/C work again. Desert Air told me that my A/C, which is on my roof) was very old and would go out soon. Noble informed me that it was not very old. Later, the fan blade of the air conditioner blew off. Again it appeared that the screws had been loosened on it some time back. Noble said that once those are tightened down properly, they never blow off. He also said it usually would be sucked back into the A/C and would have torn it up. Luckily this did not.

Very frustrating to find out that the look inside my A/C unit was going to cost me $170 dollars. I asked to speak with the boss and the price quickly was dropped to $110, which I went ahead and paid. My main problem was that they didn't mention that they charge $55 to drive to your house (Service Call) nor did the tech. mention it when they arrived. Second problem was that they gave me a "no guarantees" verbal quote of $900 to repair the broken pipe and refill my decade old A/C unit with Freon. I told the tech that I would rather replace the unit with a new more efficient model and then asked what I would owe for today. At that point they mentioned the $170 bill for the 5 min. inspection. Then I asked to speak with their supervisor, and the price was immediately dropped by $60. This company should never be called to perform any service work!
