ESTES REMODELING

Mr. Estes gave me an estimate.  He arrived on time and was very helpful and explained the work needed without making it difficult to understand and answered my questions without hesitation. 

The crew arrived always on time and worked long hours to finish promptly. Summer storms and lightning  did not slow them down much at all and I am pleased with the finished wok and their honesty and professionalism.  Yes it was expensive, but any work of this nature is h****** the finances for a retired lady.  The price seemed fair and the work was excellent.  They took time to clean the entire area thoroughly and everyone was very friendly. They finished the work in a timely manner.

Wonderful!  The work was done in a professional manner.  No surprises.  Showed up and finished when they said they would.  Cleaned up work area on daily basis.

The work was provided professionally and punctually and looks good. My hope is that the replacement fascia lasts longer than the original did, at 7 years. Estes Remodeling did not place the original fascia on the siding of my house. The original was placed on the siding of my house when it was newly built by Adams Homes 7 years ago. The original fascia was not under warranty by Adams Homes, and the replacement fascia is not under warranty.

Mr. Estes is a great person, professional and punctual. However, his quote was highly over-priced and that was the only reason why we went with someone else.

It was fine. The work was really good. He was a really nice guy, was on time and worked the whole time.

He did an excellent job.  They cleaned after themselves really well.

This project could not have gone any better. They came out on time and did an excellent job! Because my home is older they had to make a couple of adjustments to make it fit right, they did that so well you will never know it after it is painted.

Completely professional job from top to bottom.
Guys called back with a few minutes of our original phone call. They were busy with ongoing jobs but made time to come out assess our situation.
Did a fantastic repair job at a very good price.
I will use them again this spring to remodel our home.

There was one surprise with this project in that when they
began removing the dirt to seal the brick, they discovered there was no footer.  This had to be rectified before they could
continue.
Overall, I am very pleased with the work that was done.
On the downside ? they discovered there wasn?t a  footer  where it was needed.
On the upside ? they knew what needed to be done and
completed it.
On the downside ? this caused the project to cost 50% more
than estimated.
On the upside ? The Lord provided ? as He always does.
I think my late husband would have been pleased with the end
results.

I am thankful to have had this second opportunity to work with Estes Remodeling. This project was more of a "limited" scope project. I asked for replacement of baseboards and door framing in two bedrooms and a hallway. Also replaced chair railing in one room and closed in a temporary opening we had made between two bedrooms and reconstructed the closet used for the opening. I also needed to have some degraded wood replaced on the eaves of the house. I refer to this project as "limited" because I am going to finish the project myself (the caulking and painting). I hope I don't regret this part of my decision! Just like with my previous project, Mr. Estes and his crew were prompt and considerate. The job was completed quickly and the workmanship is great. I appreciate the fact that there was no pressure to do a complete job and that the job was not too small for him to accept. I appreciate that Mr. Estes does not talk down to me because I am a woman and is very patient with what others may think are ridiculous questions.

Well, alas, I had to cry uncle on the painting. I'm an accountant, not a painter! When I contacted Jeff for an estimate he told me what a difference a professional paint job would make, and he was so right! I am so glad I had them do this for me. Again, I cannot say enough about their promptness and desire to make sure the customer is completely satisfied.

My husband died 14 months ago.  He was the one who handled all of our repair/improvement projects from the hiring, to overseeing, to evaluating the end results.  So you can only imagine my trepidation as I embarked on this, what I considered, a major home repair project.
Mr. Estes was very prompt responding to my request for service on Monday, September 30.  We were able to set up an appointment agreeable to both of us during our first conversation. 
The appointment was within two days, Wednesday, October 2,  which I consider very prompt.
He was able to come back on Thursday, October 3, with a member of his crew to evaluate the problem and gave an estimate before he left.  He followed up with a detailed scope of the work and estimate via e-mail.
They were able to begin work on Friday, October 4, and were finished by Monday morning, October 7.
He was on time for each appointment.
He seemed genuinely concerned about my schedule.
He seemed genuinely concerned about the problem with the flooring I needed addressed.
He seemed genuinely concerned that I was completely satisfied with the work.
His crew was very considerate, respectful and friendly....wiped their feet each time they went in/out.  They were very conscious about keeping the door closed, etc. 
They did a great job, just as described in the scope.
What more could I ask for?
I look forward to working with them on other projects I need done.

Jeff Estes and his crew (Joey, CJ, Steve, and an electrician I didn't meet) built a great deck for me on the back of my home. It is built of quality material and superior workmanship. Jeff was easy to communicate with as was the building crew. He always responded to my calls promptly. Clean up was so good you would not have believed construction had just been done. Though the price was higher than I had hoped, when I got other estimates I found that Jeff's price was very competitive and fair. There was also a 10% discount coupon for the project on Angie's list. That was nice. This job met all my expectations and I am a very picky person. I would recommend this company and plan to contact them for other projects in the future. I am enjoying this addition to my home very much! Thank you Estes Remodeling.

Good to work with.

eaThe owner and his workers were all very nice, they worked very hard to get the job done. The only problem I had was I thought the 2x2 metal tubing should be at least 2x4 metal tubing, when you pay $7000 and see pictures of sunrooms with 2x4's you think thats what your going to get, I was upset but it was already done.I

They did an excellent job on our house and cleaned everything up before they left. They were not the cheapest but the job was
excellent and I did not have to worry about checking up on them or the job not being done right.  I would definitely use them
again with no reservations.

 Our house looked new after they were through.  I was comnpletely satisfied with their work.

I located Estes construction via Angies list.. for Contractors in my general area he seemed to have some of the highest ratings so I called Jeff Estes to come by and give me an estimate on all this work. He showed up promptly when he said he would. After reviewing what I needed he said he would price out the materials and give me a call back the next morning. He called about 10 am the next morning to give me the quote. Being satisfied with the quote, I then asked him to come by again because my wife had added a little curve ball into the equation ( imagine that). She decided over night she wanted another area opened up. Jeff was pleased to come by and look. This additional wall job was non load bearing so he was able to re-adjust the quote on the fly. We agreed on the price which I felt was fair ( I always believe a price should be lower because I am human....but really I thought his prices were fair). Jeff told me he was finishing up a job on Dauphin Island and timing would be right to start on Monday...I had everything ready on my end (pictures off the walls,  furniture covered up and pushed away from the walls) Jeff said they would have been happy to help me with the furniture but I believe in preparing...its just me. Jeff said they would be here Monday between 8 & 8:15...they showed up at 8:07 and this was the case each morning. Jeff introduced Joey and Steve to me and they immediatly went to work. They had the walls out, built and installed the doubled up plus plywood 2x12 load bearing beams , and and trimmed out by mid day Tuesday. Jeff's crew were very plesant and courteous. They left the job area in good shape each day. They even cut the sheet rock by hand instead of using a recip saw to hold down sheetrock dust ( don't think this doesn't mean you want get any dust in the house). They went out Tuesday afternoon and removed a very tall deterioated fireplace chase from my roof. and reroofed over it. When we saw how bad of shape the chase was in I was surprised I hadn't had more leaks ( the reason I had it taken off was we have had vent free natural gas logs for 15 years and didn't need a chase...I was ready to get rid of to get rid of this leak miester...they joked that I had a ton of caulk on it....one note , I had some left over shingles from a few years back that I told them to use.
Heavy rains came Wednesday when the big outside work was supposed to start so they came Thursday. The north end of my house ( 24 ft off the ground to the peak of the gable) had bad masonite siding on it. I was not about to try and get up there to replace that siding by myself.  Jeff noticed a bow in the siding  that I had been looking at for 24 years. He said ...we will try to get that bow out for you during the job...they stripped all the old siding off and replaced it with Hardie board siding. They then caulked the entire north end , primed and finished painted the entire job. By the way...they were very sucessfull in getting the bow out...and didn't charge anything additional....I am sure they want the job to look good to my neighbors...word of mouth is the best marketing. There was also another area of the house that had some bad siding that was about 12 foot off the ground...this area was not that big....about 4  boards but they replaced and repainted that also. Just as the job was finishing up is actually when we added the croown molding onto the job...I thought I would surprise the wife as I have been telling her for 24 years I was going to do it....so on the last day Jeff went and found some nice 5 1/2 crown molding and had it installed before she got home. She was quite surprised. (the Crown molding is included in the total price)
The pluses about the whole Job!.
1.I was satisfied overall with the price..yes I wish it was lower but in reality I think it was really where I was hoping it would be
2. They did what they said they would do...there were no surprises
3. Punctual...they were there when they said they would be
4. Told me about 5 working days...and they finished in 5 working days
5. the crew was very polite, respectful, friendly, professional, hard working and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The crew had also been working for Jeff for several years...I think Joey had 35 years experience ...he was the master craftsman and Steve was a painter by profession....they worked very well together
6. They left the place cleaned up each day.
7 They used quality material including quality paint...
8. The lead man on the crew...My observations thru this week of work was that there is this was not Joeys first rodeo..I believe he could do most anything....he started doing this work at 15 years old.
I told them when they left that I was sure I would see them again at my house one day
I took a lot of pictures hoping I would be able to post a few...but at this point in the evaluation I don't see how
to do it.

There is nothing that I dislike. I love everything that he is doing. He is responsive, punctual, and professional.

Their price was too high so I did not go with them.

Everything from time to services rendered were as expected or better. The only issue we had were the measurements were off by a few squares. They didn't charge us for them and absorbed the cost for extra supplies. Jeff was very nice and professional through the entire process. We highly recommend Estes Remodeling for roof replacement.

I said that I would recommend them but that is with reservations for one reason.  Overall I was satisfied with their work, the price was reasonable and done in a timely manner.  The problem was that one of their subcontractors put a screw through our sat. cable which we had to have repaired for about $160.00.  When contacted, Mr Estes said that he would try to reimburse us.
We have not heard from him since.  He had done another job for us in the past and we were happy with it.  We will not use him again.  Once again his work was not the problem and we would have used him again if he had made any attempt to be accountable for this problem.

Workmen came, worked hard and were very considerate of landscape plants. When job was complete the lawn was spotless and the house looked brand new and amazing.
