We were home visiting family on vacation when my Oliver got horribly sick and went downhill in just days. While home, he passed after nearly a week at the vets trying everything to get him well. When Ollie passed, I was numb...he was the “child” I could never have and had been my life for 10 years. The vet, whom we had used when we lived in Moody, she suggested Pets at Peace. I was so relieved, as I could not fathom having to bury my Ollie in Alabama while we live in Texas. Julie, the owner at Pets at Peace, was so very kind and caring. She picked my baby up and promised me she would give him the very best care and return his ashes to me. This happened 2 days before we had to leave to return back to Texas. It wasn’t until after she had my info that she realized she knew my sister through a mutual friend. Julie returned my Ollie and some beautiful keepsake items that I wasn’t even expecting. My mom had them in her care until I could get back to Alabama. The ornament with Ollie’s paw print and nose print in the middle of the paw may be my most prized possession. So many sweet things included and a beautiful lock of his hair...brought me to tears. It has been almost 3 years ago that we crossed paths, but I am so thankful the vet recommended Julie and Pets at Peace, as I can not fathom receiving better care or service in such a difficult time.

They are very sensitive and do a great job working with pet owners. As part of the process they give you a great kit with various ways to remember your pet. I've used other services in the past and there's no comparison.

My girl, Ms Rosie Toesies, was only 4 years old and she died suddenly. I just couldnt bury her so my vet at Hueytown Vet Hospital recommended these people. They did a beautiful job! She was put in a black walnut vase with her name ingraved on the side on a gold plaque. They also included a footprint of our girl, separately, in a velvet pouch. They included a letter "Rainbow Bridge" that tells of our dog waiting for us and will join us when we get to heaven. Yes, I would highly recommend these people! They are so sincere and compassionate.

This was our second experience with this business. Please note that "Pets at Peace" is a nationwide franchise, and our report deals only with this location in Argo, Alabama, and is not necessarily reflective of other locations. Our previous experience with this business was excellent. However, our most recent experience was horrible. According to a source contacted at one of the posted phone numbers, the owners have recently divorced, and the level of service has drastically waned since. The lady who currently runs the business appears to be overwhelmed, and stretched too thinly. She has turned some of the operations over to some teenage employees, who appear to be untrained, and unprofessional. She does not communicate effectively, and takes the attitude that "The customer is always wrong." I would never use this franchise again, and would never recommend their services to anyone.
