David asked me to move some freight for him. Im a transportation company and we move freight. He had me secure a truck to move some freight for him and has never paid me for this load. This has been 8 months now of accounting calling him and emailing him with no resolve. Message after message. email after email. He will not answer the phone calls, messages or emails. So this has left me, a small Alabama based business like himself, with having to pay for his loads. This absolutely not fair and not good business. If he will do this to me, someone he hires to move his freight for him, then he will do it to others.

Job payment was 2x (nearly 3x) price quoted by owner over the phone based on size of residence and distance, took twice as long as promised after viewing the job in person and workers were very unprofessional - reeking of smoke, alcohol and continually griping about the work. Numerous items were broken, delivered to wrong rooms despite being labeled and were so rude to my mother in law about setting up a sectional sofa delivered to her residence she requested for them leave without completing the job. We were promised they would return to complete sectional setup we paid for, on many occasions, but the company never contacted her to set up the furniture.

The items we found were damaged during and shortly after the move were: antique lamp damaged, granite dining table base broken, numerous lamps and shades damaged, large outdoor urns cracked beyond repair, green egg grill and stand cracked, washing machine rolled down the loading ramp (I saw this myself but workers tried to deny), several broken items were thrown away without our instruction by workers, etc. Six months after the move, we are still finding damaged and/or misplaced items.

The owner did repair the granite table (although it took many phone calls and nearly 2 months to have it returned to us!!) and give a $600 "settlement" (a fraction of the items value!) for the items missing and/or damaged. By this point we were exhausted by the ordeal and just ready to be finished so we accepted the settlement. The owner did apologize profusely and assured us our experience was rare for his company to provide.

All housewares were well packed in cartons. The entire process -- packing, loading truck, and unloading and stacking in storage unit took only four hours. I was very pleased.

When we talked he said he would be in the office in 15 minutes and see what he has and call me back. He never called me back! I've been calling all morning and he doesn't answer his phone either. I ended up having to get boxes elsewhere.

It was fine. We had no issues at all. They were on time at both locations, and they were very courteous. They broke something on my grandfather clock and they came straight to us and told us about it. They were honest and straight forward. I got estimates from about four different companies and they had the best price.

Upside: Excellent pre-move services-- thorough pre-move survey, and they dropped off packing supplies to help us get organized and get a head start on packing. Packers showed as scheduled and did a thorough, professional job. On moving day, the crew was courteous and hard-working.
Downside: Although our signed agreement called for 6 workers, only 5 showed up. I was charged a slightly lower hourly rate than previously agreed, so it probably didn't affect the total price, but the manager or crew lead should have informed me that for whatever reason they needed to modify the agreement. Also, I left phone messages and emails with the company asking them to stop by and pick up empty boxes after the move and they would not return my messages, much less actually come by the house to retrieve their packing materials.
Overall experience was positive--I felt I got good value for my money with Pro Movers.

They did an excellent job. They loaned us wardrobe boxes to load our clothing. They brought book carts for our books so we didn't have to box them. They were no scratches on anything. They worked solid and did not take a break for anything. They loaded and unloaded a 2300 square foot house in about 6 hours. They couldn't make it any easier than what they did. They were easy and cooperative. We would absolutely use them in the future.
