I was very impressed with Dixie Electric.  From my first phone call until their technician Tony left my house, they exhibited a level of professionalism rarely seen from a business today.  They were able to work me in on the same day that I called.  They called to let me know that their technician was on the way.  When he diagnosed the problem, I had gotten tied up in a business meeting and wasn't available to authorize the work.  After multiple attempts to contact me, the technician finally left.  When I called Dixie back around 5 pm, I was very apologetic.  They were understanding and worked me in the following day without issue.  The work was performed by a friendly and professional Dixie Electric technician of 27 years (again I was impressed).  I was charged a fair price for what amounted to exceptional service.

They gave us a pretty good deal.  The company owner's wife is friends with my wife, and we weren't aware.  I wasn't there when they did the work, but my wife was impressed with the way they took care of everything.  They are one of the best in the city by reputation.

"We were so happy to see this member's review on Angie's List; we really appreciate her taking the time to share her thoughts about us. However we were concerned to see a "C" for our quality rating. We would love the opportunity to correct any situation that our valuable customer is not thoroughly happy with. We tried to get in touch with her to see what we could have done to make the service experience better. We sent a letter on 05/02/2012 to the address posted and never had a response. We tried to look the customer up in our customer data base for a phone number so we could call and we could not find name listed. We searched by address and the name associated with the address did not match. Also the last work performed at this address was 2008. We truly want to be an "A" in every aspect and we always want to exceed our customers expectations. We are constantly training to improve and would love the feed back so that we can make the changes necessary to make our valued customers completely happy. If she would contact us and let us know how we could have made her service experience better, we would certainly do so."

I completely understand that we seem expensive, other customers have felt the same way but they have found out why some companies can do work so cheaply. Where are they cutting costs? At Dixie Electric Company we have certified, thoroughly criminally back ground checked and drug tested technicians who arrive with a "warehouse on wheels" ready to do the job on the spot, but only after giving you an exact to the penny price in writing that is guaranteed not to change once you okay the work to start. Our technicians all have a long history with our company. There are a lot of companies that have employees that come and go, they don't want to spend the money to perform back ground checks and drug tests, so what kind of person are you letting in your home, maybe one that is planning on coming back another day for the wrong reason. Also we use quality parts and give great warranties. We also have 24 hour a day service because we know your emergencies don't just happen in between 8-5!! Please keep these things in mind when scheduling a contractor you only want to make the repair once, and you want it done right, your safety is at important. We are committed to all aspects of customer satisfaction and always want to exceed our customers expectations. They did very well in connecting everything.  They added a box and connected it to another wire because it as going to overload the circuit.  I thought it was a good price.  I told them the complex story and he was able to figure it out right away.  he went to the shop and got the part and came right back.  He was quick and very nice, he was an older gentleman.  He did a good quality job in good timing.  They were very knowledgeable and the price was excellent.

It was actually paid by insurance. He came in looked at it and then came out and looked at it. Then he said what has caused it and what was wrong. He also said what he was going to do. I told him that I had few other people who had done other works before but I still had problems. Then he said that he would do it and if I had any problems then he would come and redo it for no cost. It wasn’t a big deal but he said that he would come to redo it. Now it is good to go and I have no problems till now. It was the first time he did the job for me.

"We take it very seriously when we miss an appointment, and understand completely how frustrating it is to take valuable time off work for a service call and the company never shows up. We strive to be the very best service company in all aspects of our contact with our customers. Unfortunately things don’t always go as we would like; however we will never fail to apologize for any mistake that may occur and we will always attempt to correct the situation to the highest level of satisfaction to our customer. Our mission is to let our customers know in every way how much we appreciate the opportunity to serve them. In direct response to the member's comment, we always call our customers about thirty minutes ahead of time to inform the customer that we are on the way to make sure it is convenient. We don’t, unless told otherwise, go to an appointment without having direct contact with the customer ahead of time. We apparently put the wrong phone number on her account, and did not have her work number on the account either, therefore we could not contact her as promised. The member's service call was scheduled for May 16th, 2007. We were scheduled to do a FREE Home Protection Inspection for her. When she called to see why we had not shown up she was very rude and unreasonable and told us that she only gives people one chance. She would not allow us to try to rectify the situation."

We experienced a short that knocked out power to half the lighting in our house. After we tried to reset the circuit, we noticed sparks in the circuit breaker and decided we better call someone.  They came out to our house within the hour at 9:00 PM on a Friday note.  Very professional!  They took our story and quoted us a price $217 to do a diagnostic.  Based on our account, they look at a couple likely sources and found the source of the dead short (due to some of our handywork).  Because he made such quick work (and maybe felt sorry for us), he knocked down the price and even helped troubleshoot a flickering light.

It went very well. They were very fair and honest. The price was reasonable and it wasn't out of the ballpark. I had him look at some other jobs that I might want done and he really looked at it with a cost to benefit analysis kind of view. I ended up not doing the other things. He was very professional. I would absolutely use them again.

My house has been looking better since then. The price was inclusive of the medallion on the ceiling. It was all antique. They were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Their price was reasonable. I went and talked to them. Their responsiveness was very good.

They were very good. I was very pleased with them. The guy that came out was really super professional. He arrived when he said he was going to. He wasn't here for more than a couple of hours. The price was a little more than I expected but I have to say I had never hired an electrician. I talked to people and they said that the price was what it should have been. Apparently that is what electricians charge. I also thought the people that answered the phone in their company were very professional and nice, which was a nice bonus. I just had a sticker shock of how much it was going to cost. I wish they had told me upfront what their expectation was. The price was a little shocking. They were really terrific. The guy was really good. I was pretty impressed by them. I have actually given them quite a bit of word of mouth advertising already. I definitely would use them again in the future.

The electrician, jacob, diagnosed the problem and did a re-wiring job to prevent recurrence. I had about $600 worth of electrical work done in April and this job was among them. Yesterday's follow-up visit was free of any charge because the work is warranted for one year. The company stands behind its work. The electrician who did my work is the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet; cordial, polite, and super-competent.

Tony,a very skilled experienced professional came on time as promised.He performed all the worked that needed to be done. He had to troubleshoot and figure out the mysteries of an older home,but he was patient and very pleasant. He went above and beyond his duties when my ferret got out of her cage,got curious what he was doing and almost touched some hot wires. I have called this company and Tony back a second time for some additional electrical problems I had forgotten to mention during the first visit. Tony got everything back in excellent working condition,I feel like I have a new home. It was very pleasant to deal with professional and pleasant employees from Linda,the receptionist to Tony,the master technician. I will recommend this company to family and friends!
