They did provide a sketch, but it was very minimal.
The result looks great and I enjoyed working with Andy, John Paul, David and Clay. Andy also sent me a final plant list and a tip sheet to help me get the new plants growing well.
I was very satisfied with Mr. Portera's work -- so satisfied, in fact, that I would like to have him carry through with his design. I have been a little frustrated in nailing down a schedule for the next phase of the project, however. I think that the Angie's List deal brought in a lot of new customers all at once, which may have overwhelmed Mr. Portera's ability to respond to them all. I think he is extremely busy at this time and that is why I haven't been able to nail down a date to begin our job. I do hope we'll be able to do that this fall.
The young man was very professional and timely.
"During the time we worked up the drawing, the member experienced a death in her family. We told her that we knew that landscaping was not high on her priority list. As a result, it was our understanding from our last email communication with the member, that we would wait to hear back from the member before discussing the project and project pricing further. Obviously, we were mistaken and we are happy to provide pricing accordingly."

"I regret that this client is upset with the service we provided. I am happy to work with her to revise the drawing in any way she wishes and I am also happy to provide her with an estimate for the work. On April 7th, I forwarded the client a concept drawing of her daughter's front yard via email. I immediately followed that email with a text message to her cell phone to let her know that I had emailed the drawing. In that text message, I asked the client how she wanted me to breakdown the estimate because the scope of work was pretty large. I did not receive any text response nor did I receive any email response from the client. I also do not have any record of voice mail messages from the client on April 7th or after. With that said, we clearly did not meet the client''s expectation and for that I apologize. We certainly want all our customers to be happy and if we "miss the mark", we try our best to make things right so that our customers happy. In this instance, i am willing to revise or amend the concept drawing in any way and more than happy to provide an estimate for the work."

Andy Portera is a very knowledgeable, professional business owner. I saw his excellent reviews on Angie's List, and write ups about his work in Birmingham Home and Garden magazine. Andy was prompt and attentive from the start. His ideas for remedying our problem were the best we received. He was always punctual. He made several trips to our yard to view the water flow and figure out the best fix. His team is professional and does very neat, precise work.( I have never seen such evenly dug trenches!) They are polite and very good at what they do. They worked tirelessly, and finished the work in about 2 1/2 days. We are pleased with the outcome. More importantly, Andy has a wonderful reputation, and you can tell that he takes his job seriously. In dealing with Andy, you know that he will stand behind his work, and genuinely cares about fixing the problem you hire him to do. Recommend him highly!
